“Success doesn’t just happen. It’s planned for.” Anonymous Through my many years of doing humanitarian work in some of the most remote, poverty and disasterstricken countries around the world I’ve often heard the saying, “Planning is a first-world luxury.” In truth, when lives are at stake and you’re faced with the unexpected and unpredictable, there’s no arguing that adaptability is vital but having a plan to guide your efforts and mitigate your losses is paramount. We at OEF have always prided ourselves on the forward-thinking plan outlined in the Shared Vision for South Eleuthera birthed more than eleven years ago. The visionary ideas outlined within have anchored our organization to its Core Values and ambitious mission while providing the flexibility to usher in innovative solutions to some of our country’s biggest challenges. We are proud of our track record, particularly the past two years, as we faced two of the most devastating and unprecedented events in our country’s and world’s history: Hurricane Dorian and the COVID-19 Pandemic. Once again, our strategic planning efforts allowed us to adapt and respond to our community’s most critical needs without losing sight of the mission. For this reason, I am most grateful and excited about our five-year Strategic Plan which builds on the foundation of the Shared Vision while carving out a path for today and the years ahead. Having been Board approved, much of this plan is already underway and will continue to define and shape our strategic priorities according to our organisation’s

Five Key Areas of Focus. Significant highlights from the plan for the upcoming year include: • Launching of the Cravo Cooling House operations • Relaunching of the Tea Room (and integrating it more fully with the farm) • Constructing the first Studio Project prototypes on campus • Accelerating several key Core Partners • Expanding the training options in North Eleuthera • Completing the new Master Plan for the OEF-CTI campus I want to say a special word of thanks to our incredible team of leaders both on the ground and on our Bahamas and U.S. Boards who invested tremendous thought, effort and time fine-tuning this Strategic Plan. It’s hard to believe how far we have come since OEF was launched on Earth Day in April 2012. Our work to improve and empower our communities has remained consistent. Our efforts to conserve and protect our island’s environment has brought us international attention. Our staff consists of competent, dedicated and loyal persons who believe in our mission and our historic campus in Rock Sound is once again one of South Eleuthera’s treasures. It remains a privilege to serve as OEF’s President and CEO. I hope you enjoy learning more about our accomplishments from this past year and our exciting plans for the future. With eyes toward a better tomorrow, Shaun Ingraham | President & CEO
