ELEUTHERA EMERGENCY PARTNERS Saving Lives and Protecting Property
CHALLENGE Many Eleuthera residents are more at risk during emergencies. While basic clinics are spread out over the 110-mile-long island as well as Spanish Wells and Habour Island, critical care must be provided by first responders. With no permanent government emergency programme, volunteers are the first and sometimes last line of defence. As a nonprofit organisation, SEEP must raise funds for these critical services. Without support from donors and the community, the island residents and visitors are more vulnerable. SOLUTION Eleuthera Emergency Partners protects life and property with dedicated volunteers who drive the ambulances and fire trucks. With increasing pressures from COVID-19, the organization plans to expand to North Eleuthera. Capacity will be enhanced through additional volunteer recruitment and first responder and EMT training. More lives will be saved by adding another firetruck and ambulance to the network. Further, a disaster management plan will be created to respond to other disasters.
