For Hanalei firefighter, Christian Marston, showing aloha (respect, love) is a way of life. It’s a lesson he learned from his grandparents, who passed down their welcoming spirit through the family bar.

When Bruce and Louise Marston opened Tahiti Nui in 1963, they knew they’d created something special.

The establishment started as a gift shop, but slowly became known as “The Nui”, a small bar where locals and travelers would stop in after work, play music together, and have a few beers. Today, Christian's family is carrying on the tradition, carving out a space where both locals and guests feel welcome.
