Hi! My name is Ryan Dang and I am a junior this year. I serve as your Project Chair and Service Project Coordinator for this term. I love meeting new people and just talking about anything in general so don't be afraid to say hi!

Myfavoritecharacters areOptimusPrimeandMudkip.My favoritecolorsareblackandpurple (together),andIreallylikeTheNorth Facejackets.Ialsolikerandomly spewingoutmotivationalquotes!

Grades and test scores don't make you better or worse than anyone else, and also never compare yourself to anyone but your past self because everyone goes through something different. The most important thing is to take care of yourself and find/do what you love!!!

Advice for us? -w-

My favorite part of key club is meeting people at events, whether it be other key clubbers or just other volunteers, because I love listening to their stories and experiences and they are just all around genuine people.

December Drip Check

Key Club is such a wonderful club, but as the school year intensifies, I began feeling it more difficult to get my priorities straight and found it harder and harder to balance my extracurriculars and my grades, which were all slowly dropping lower and lower.

If I am being perfectly honest, there was a period of time when I was considering quitting all my extracurriculars due to the record low grades I was producing, including Key Club. However, when I was just about to send out my email of resignation, I asked myself, “ can you really give this up?” And I couldn’t Because Key Club is just such an organization

I really enjoy being a part of the OAKC family and the D30S Suns. I had a lot of firsts in this club, and have made a ton of beautiful and ugly memories with Key Club, from going to SixFlags for the first time, or actually liking the color yellow for once – it grew on me. In short, I couldn’t give it up.

If you are reading this and you are feeling this way or have felt this way before, ask yourself what you truly wish for If you ’ re like me, and don’t truly want to leave the family, then I say stay and enjoy all Key Club has to offer you. If you decide that this maybe isn’t the club for you, then follow your feelings. It’s understandable, and while I’d personally love for you to stay, if you feel you really should go, then go.

For me, however, I enjoy the h

NovemberDCM NovemberDCM

November DCM came across on the last full week of November where everybody brought in snacks to share in the potluck. There were mini cupcakes, different flavors of chips, all sorts of cookies, a whole pumpkin pie that Megan brought, and this potato dish that looked delicious. There weren’t utensils to serve the dish though, so I didn’t get to taste it :(, but the other snacks were also great! I brought some rice crackers, which I thought nobody would like since they were kinda plain, but people actually ate them!! I was soo happy to see that some of the rice crackers were gone after the event. I’m glad that people liked my rice crackers :DD I was the only historian at the DCM, so I was supposed to take more pictures of everybody, but I mostly took pictures of Oxford attendees. Next time if I am the only historian, I should probably take more photos of the others as well since my pictures will be representing the entire division in that case. For the service event, we wrote and decorated thanksgiving letters to show our love to the community I really hope that these letters can make the days of the receivers and remind them that they are thanked and loved by others. Overall, I w people and eat delicious food, a people can come th

November DCM was my first Key Club event in a while after being sick, and was a really big motivator for me. Even though I was sick that day, after our LTG Sania Usmani asked me to bring materials for the service project, I knew I had to go. Even though I was not having the greatest time at first with my coughs, I slowly was able to warm up and socialize with members that I had not seen in ages. It was so great getting to know members of our club better, and even executive assistant Austin! I had a really great time and seeing all the dedicated members who showed up even though it was break really inspired me to put my all back into Key Club again, and I am thankful for the members in our club who really make everything worth it.

FALL RAL

My final Fall Rally South. Those four words felt like they’d never come, but at the same time, came by in a blink of time. With the five spirit nights leading up to it, I was ready for Fall Rally. I knew the cheers like the back of my hand and was ready to get hyped with the rest of the division! Knowing it’d be my last fall rally, I dressed up – in a light-up tutu, yellow lei, and sunglasses. It was only my second FRS but I knew I needed to make memories.

So, I chose to overcome my fear of rollercoasters. Sprinting from rollercoaster to rollercoaster, the memories of being unable to go on anything at Six Flags but a kiddy ride quickly faded away. Despite almost not making it to the Spirit Session on time, I was able to ride Wonder Woman Flight of Courage and Twisted Colossus in the morning! I think my favorite part of FRS is honestly doing spirit battles in line or on the ride, because it’s a reminder that we are here to celebrate our division and accomplishments.

At the Spirit Session, while it was regrettable that we did not win the Spirit Stick, the memory of the screams and joy will never be forgotten. We had a good three years with the stick, it was time that another division won it. It’s still crazy to think that this is my last and final year in Key Club, but as I submit my UC application, the idea of college is closer rather than further.

To every incoming Key Clubber, attend FRS! Even if you haven’t gone to a lot of events, or believe volunteering is a waste of time – Fall Rally South will change your mind. Being around spirited Key Clubbers who have devoted their Saturday to cheering for their division will surely inspire you to make the same change in your community.

LY SOUTH

Although Division 30 South did not win the spirit stick this year at Fall Rally South, I still had a great time nevertheless. Not only did I get to talk to the D30 North Rhinos and go on rides with them, I was also able to experience our spirit coordinator, Johnny, get scammed of dole whip and our publicity coordinator, Katelyn, almost get impeached. I also went on a 415 feet elevation drop ride, also known as Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom. Our club did get yelled at by the chaperones, but if anything, that made the experience even more memorable. Preparing the spirit gear for other clubs and being able to raise funds for our club and hear good things about our tutus and headbands made me even more spirited. I am going to miss the seniors a lot, especially since this was their last Fall Rally South, and I hope next year, our division can come back with a win for the spirit stick.

On November 12th, we had one of CNH’s biggest events of the year - Fall Rally South! As this year was my first time experiencing this event, I was beyond excited of what event was going to occur. Ever since I joined Key Club back in 2020, everyone around me constantly kept hyping up Fall Rally, so my expectations were high. This also helped me promise myself to spend my time without any regrets and cheer my voice out. I really wanted our division to win the spirit stick for the fourth time in a row, but I knew everyone had to cheer to the best of their abilities to make that happen.

As soon as we got to Six Flags Magic Mountain, I was overwhelmed by how many Key Club members there were from all over the CNH, and it seemed so surreal to understand that there were that many Key Clubbers that are dedicated enough to come all this way to participate in trying to win the spirit battles. I was encouraged to go meet other Key Club members from different regions. I found divisions that were familiar to me that I have met because they were also in Region 3.

During our spirit season, our division was loud and super spirited. I think that all of us were in sync, and we all did our very best, but the competition was fierce this year. Many other divisions were super spirited too, so we only ended up making it to round two. We, unfortunately, did not win the spirit stick this year. Although we didn’t win the spirit stick, I still had a great time eating and talking with other divisions and making new friends.

FALL RAL

On November 12, 2022, I attended Fall Rally South 2022, my last fall rally as a Keyclubber. Though planning this event was difficult as president with coordination and figuring out logistics, I was definitely excited for this event and made a lot of memories on that one day.

This being my last year in Key Club as I am a senior, I wanted to make the most of this annual event and ensure the best experience for the rest of my club members. Though our division did not win the spirit stick this year, this event was still a memorable, spirited and fun-filled event not only for me but for all the attendees and I can’t wait to see what the division will accomplish next year.

I definitely won’t miss waking up early and standing in the cold at Savanna High School, waiting for the bus but I will treasure the moments throughout the day that made the event worth it. From waiting 3 hours to go one ride to running across the park to make it to the spirit session to talking about anything and everything with my friends, those memories made this event even more fun and exciting.

It felt like last month I was new to Key Club, hearing about Fall Rally South for the first time. THE Fall Rally South in November, the most anticipated Key Club event of all time. Every Fall Rally South starts off with waking up at 4 in the morning and dragging yourself out of bed to dress yourself in all yellow. Standing out in the cold weather and disturbing the surrounding neighborhoods around Savanna with our cheers at 5am, my day has just begun.

On the bus ride, everyone falls dead asleep within the first five minutes, and suddenly, we wake up at Six Flags. After that, we make our way into the park for the spirit session. The spirit session was the same as always, leaving me with my head ringing and throat dry. This year being in the crowd instead of leading the cheers was a new experience for me. Watching the spirit coordinators lose their voice gave me PTSD, but it was relaxing to be in the crowd this time.

After that, my group and I make our way to line up for rides and get food with our well D30N rhinos. It was not a good idea to ride Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman after stuffing our faces with nachos and chicken tenders, our feet start to hurt, and the sun begins to set. Then in a blink of an eye, we are at the carousel with the entire division.

Fall Rally South is an extremely fun event that tires you out and knocks you dead asleep on the bus ride home, but out of all my experiences, I recommend it to any members reading this!

nfortunately, our Stick this year, breaking our streak, but I had an overall awesome time We prepared for 5 spirit nights for cheers, and it definitely was ach Round 3, but I’m grateful for all the members that tried their best e spirit session, a majority of OAKC went on rides together, which consisted of myself, Devanshi, Karina, Lynne, David, Jonathan, Angel, and Helen, but we were also joined by our amazing freshmen, Devin and Angela! Waiting in line for hours for a single ride was a great opportunity to learn more about each other, and we became really close by the end of the day. We rode on Twisted Colossus, and Wonder Woman Flight of Courage, which had decent lines, but we waited a whole 3 hours to ride on Tatsu. At the end of the day, I don’t regret anything I did at Fall Rally on November 12, 2022, and I really do wish I could go again if I was able to. I hope all of you reading go to FRS next year, as it is a great opportunity to have some fun and also see some new people. The number of times we were asked “HOW DO YOU FEEL” cannot be described as we were so tired and gave up most of the time, but seeing other people being positive and spirited towards our division felt very heartwarming. It represents how friendly of a community Key Club is, and how all of you can be a part of it. I hope to see all of you going to FRS and posting them on your social media for me to see after I graduate, as well as the events this term such as Rose Float and Servathon!

FALL RAL

Thousands of teenagers equipped with tutus, themed headbands, and more. Groups of colors, blending all together. In a park full of Key Clubbers (and common theme park goers who were there for the veteran's day weekend discount), Fall Rally South 2022 took place. At the biggest Key Club event of the year, Division 30 South sought to defend its reign as the spirit stick winner for the past four years... only to get eliminated before the final round. It was an incredibly disheartening moment, but Fall Rally South isn’t just about winning the spirit stick; it’s about making new memories and new friends, an opportunity to connect with countless other Key Clubbers throughout the entirety of Southern California.

This year ’ s Fall Rally South was my second one, but even though we lost the spirit stick, it was the most fun I’ve had yet! The moment we headed into the park, a group of us OA key clubbers immediately rushed towards the rides, trying to fit in as many rides as we could before our spirit session (and the huge crowds). We were able to fit in two before we had to run back towards the Golden Bear Amphitheater to be seated for the spirit session. Afterwards, we went to get food, and though it was overpriced (as well as a bit mid), the funnel cakes were AMAZING! Right after that, we headed towards Tatsu, where we waited in line for three hours together. As long as it was, it was such a fun bonding experience, and I feel like it gave rise to a lot of interesting conversations to fill up the time. After that, we went to go pick up some more food before heading home, and as exhausted as I was, I was super happy for all the memories I had made especially with the seniors. As this term draws closer to its end, it saddens me to think about a term without them, but all the same, it motivates me to just make every effort to make even more memories together with them. Let’s win the spirit stick next year!
