In a New York minute, we’ll be in the holiday season officially, marked by the arrival of Santa Claus at the end of the Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 24. But if you’re visiting the city, you’ll see that holiday decorations will begin to appear magically overnight, throughout the coming weeks. I’ve always felt that the parade, seen nationally on NBC throughout the country, is a spirited invitation to plan a trip to New York City, to be part of the excitement. We are grateful that the city is buzzing again, with the crowds in Times Square and so much to see. In this edition of our newsletter, we celebrate the holidays and help you navigate, with suggestions from Thanksgiving Day to New Year’s Eve. Oh, and have I mentioned there is an 82-foot high Norway Spruce tree that will be lit on November 30 in Rockefeller Center? The tree lighting is a tradition here for over 8 decades. Visiting the tree is a true New York experience you will not want to miss. While you are in town, it’s not just about the “big” events that we know. Be sure to support creative small businesses, whether it’s to enjoy the best hot chocolate, or sample traditional potato latkes. (Read on, in this edition.) Finally, there is no better place to be on New Year’s Eve than in Times Square, with the New York Marriott Marquis at the center of it all, as the ball drops at midnight. In a New York minute, it will be 2023.Wishing you a joyous holiday season.
