If you’ve been to the New York Marriott Marquis, chances are you’ve heard about The View. Maybe you’ve dined there before, celebrating a special occasion high above the city. Maybe you’ve only heard whispers about that restaurant—the one that revolved, giving guests a 360-degree view of the New York City skyline. Well, we’ve got some big news: The View Restaurant, Bar & Lounge is back. And trust us, it’s worth the wait.
In partnership with Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG), we’re bringing this iconic space back to life. And while The View’s breathtaking perspective of New York City hasn’t changed, everything else has. Inspired by the glamour of classic supper clubs, the reimagined restaurant blends timeless elegance with modern energy. Think sophisticated cocktails, a raw bar, and elevated American classics that feel both nostalgic and new.
Of course, an extraordinary restaurant needs an extraordinary chef. Enter Marjorie Meek-Bradley. With a resumé that includes Eleven Madison Park,
Per Se, and Pastis—not to mention a Top 3 finish on Top Chef—she brings a passion for simple, beautifully crafted food that lets every ingredient shine.

A Times Square Icon Reimagined
On February 12th, Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) reopened The View, the iconic revolving restaurant, bar and lounge on the 47th and 48th floors of the New York Marriott Marquis. Located in the heart of New York’s Theater District, The View’s culinary and beverage programs have been transformed into an updated dining and bar destination under the helm of Executive Chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley and Beverage Director Ricky Dolinsky. Both floors have undergone complete renovation and redesign by Rockwell Group, unveiling an entirely new restaurant fueled by the energy of New York.
The View tips its hat to its storied roots as a classic New York dining destination, as well as to Broadway’s theater district. Originally opened in 1985, The View – and its revolving dining room – quickly became an attraction for New Yorkers and visitors alike. Now, nearly five years after its last service, USHG has reimagined The View, creating a warm and restorative restaurant with

a celebratory air. Located at the crossroads of the vibrant Theater District, The View aims to be an essential gathering spot for the neighborhood’s artistic community and its audiences, bringing together a colorful mix of New Yorkers and establishing a welcome refuge, 48 floors above Broadway.
Evoking the nostalgic feeling of old New York, The View has partnered with iconic New York institutions, Katz’s Delicatessen and Magnolia Bakery, for two exclusive cocktails: the Katz’s Martini with Bombay Sapphire, Cinzano 1757 dry vermouth, and Katz’s proprietary blend of pastrami spices, and the Whipped and Swirled, dedicated to Magnolia Bakery’s prized banana pudding, featuring Macallan 12-year single malt scotch, Armagnac, rum, Averna, banana and condensed milk topped with whipped cream and vanilla wafer crumble.

“ The View instantly became an iconic part of New York City’s restaurant scene when it first opened atop the New York Marriott Marquis in 1985. We’re excited to have
been invited to revive and reimagine this storied space,
and
cannot wait to welcome the Theater District to this one-of-kind dining room for some exceptional hospitality and really good cooking.

When I stepped into The View, I felt a wave of nostalgia, knowing I could create a menu and atmosphere that captures that same vibrant, playful energy - right in the heart of New York City's Theater District. Marjorie Meek-Bradley, Executive Chef, The View Restaurant, Bar and Lounge
Q: WHAT INSPIRED YOUR LOVE FOR COOKING, AND HOW HAS YOUR CULINARY JOURNEY BROUGHT YOU TO THE VIEW IN THE HEART OF NYC’S THEATER DISTRICT?
A: I’ve always been interested in cooking since a young age, but after graduating from culinary school, I knew it was what I wanted to do with my career. Since then, I’ve worked in kitchens across the country but have always loved the energy of New York. I’m thrilled to be back in the kitchen creating dishes that are rooted in what I know and love - American classics.
Q: WHEN YOU STEPPED INTO THE VIEW, WHAT WAS YOUR VISION FOR REIMAGINING THIS ICONIC REVOLVING RESTAURANT?
A: I grew up on the West Coast, where every year my family and I would see the traveling Broadway shows in San Francisco. I always cherished how those performances brought people together and created unforgettable memories. When I stepped into The View, I felt a wave of nostalgia, knowing I could create a menu and atmosphere that captures that same vibrant, playful energy—right in the heart of New York City's Theater District.

Q: WHAT ARE THE KEY ELEMENTS OF THE MENUS AT THE VIEW, AND HOW DO THEY REFLECT THE AMERICAN SUPPER CLUB CONCEPT YOU’RE BRINGING BACK?
A: Both floors of the View evoke the feeling of a New York supper club, serving American classics, expertly crafted cocktails and nightly live music. The bar & lounge on the 48th floor features a raw bar, elevated bar snacks, and a selection of desserts — it’s a great spot for pre- or posttheater drinks. Downstairs in the dining room, we’re serving a selection of American inspired dishes like Bone-In Ribeye, Long Island Duckling, and Roasted Chicken alongside hearty sides like Creamed Spinach, Button Mushrooms and Potatoes au Gratin.
Q: HOW DO YOU PLAN TO CREATE A MENU THAT RESONATES WITH BOTH LOCALS AND VISITORS IN THIS VIBRANT AND COMPETITIVE NYC DINING SCENE?
A: As New York’s only revolving restaurant, we’ve created a memorable dining experience for all to enjoy, whether you’re visiting for the weekend or have lived in New York your whole life. Come visit us and you’ll see what makes us special!
Q: CAN YOU SHARE A SNEAK PEEK OF ONE OR TWO STANDOUT DISHES OR COCKTAILS GUESTS CAN LOOK FORWARD TO?
A: All the dishes are standouts, but if I had to choose, I personally love the Lobster Spaghetti a la Chitarra with spicy tomato sauce. Try it with any of the martinis on the cocktail menu, but specifically the Stilton with parmesan-infused Absolut, kina, and Stilton blue cheese stuffed olives.
