Know that just because you decide you don’t want to go anymore doesn’t mean he will not go. It may just mean you will be getting left home next year. I know quite a few men who use the Florida Classic as “the boys get a way weekend” with no wives. A few of the wives were cool with it until they notice their husbands were looking forward to their get-a-way. It had become an annual tradition and they were no longer invited.

Furthermore, the cookouts always had an old girlfriend or an old wanna be girlfriend. In their defense , Oohh they didn’t know that particular chick was coming, they can’t tell who can or will come to someone else’s house or event. By the time their husband got back home their was so much anger and distrust going on it put a strain on the marriage. The usual response or come back is, well if they have guys get away, then,we are going to have a girls’ getaway. Any way it goes, it’s the beginning of annual over night trips away from each other, which is not good for any unstable marriage, especially a

You are really in a good place. You should always accompany your husband when asked. I suggest you go to class reunions, family reunions, company picnics and company trips, because I am sure there are a few alumni ladies hoping you don’t show up. It’s your job as a wife to be a companion to your husband and for him to be a companion for you. If you know this is what he loves to do, endure it because it’s only one weekend a year.

We are planning to attend the Florida Classic again this year. My husband and I have gone for the last 12 years but I have made up my mind that I am not going again. Every year we spend about $750 on hotel, tickets and eating out. I would rather take that money and travel to see my family for Thanksgiving instead. I’m tired of watch ing my husband’s lame a$$ friends tell the same stories over and over and over again. If I hear one more sneaking in the girls dormitory story or marching 100 story I am going to scream. I was silent all the way home trying not to be a bi*ch. He kept asking me what was wrong. Really there was nothing wrong except I was just bored and tired of faking it with them. I am going to let him have tonight but tomorrow when he gets home from work I am going to tell him how I feel. Am I out of line?

Furthermore I have noticed that when old time friends get together, they get younger again. Allow your husband to get that boost of rejuvenation. Don’t be surprised to discover that you may benefit more than he does from that new found energy. Heyyy!!!!

Your husband is happy, keep it like that. Please don’t ruin his time sitting around looking like an unhappy sour pus. Enjoy yourself, be happy. To be happy is a decision. If you are not sick, hungry, too hot or too cold, you can make up your mind to be happy. No one ever said you had to sit under him or ride his coat tail every step of the way. He probably wishes you would be a little more out going and interactive anyway.

I am a loyal reader. Will you please rerun an old letter from a wife not wanting to go to the Florida Classic.

Classic Blues

Dear Girlfriend,

Dear Classic Blues, No you are not out of line. You should always communicate your feelings to your spouse, but let me see if I can help you rethink this before you mess up a good thang. A lot of times, we don’t know we have a good thing until it’s

of all be glad that he wants you to go. That usually means he is proud of you and likes your company. It’s a sure sign he is not trying to get back to any old girlfriend from way back then.

The wives also noticed that it was hard to reach their husbands . There were a million excuses as to why their phones didn’t work: it died; left the phone in the car; can’t hear the calls in the stadium because of all the noise; the music was too loud in the House of Blues; left the phone in the room; Reception was bad in the building; I’m around the boys I’ll call you back when I get to my room (but they never get that call because) I drank too much and fell asleep; I left my charger in the car,;in the room; or let one of the boys use it and for got it. You name it, they heard it.

young one. So if you don’t have a problem, don’t create one. In a marriage it’s not always about you and what you want to do. You are his companion and he is yours. A successful marriage is full of compromise. A good spouse knows this. If your husband is happy, let him be.

Joe Biden has had a long time to think about the things he would like to accomplish as president and is now putting them into action.

Joe Biden was cool 40 years ago and is still cool today. Black folks place a lot of stock in one’s ability to dress, speak, dance and mingle and Joe Biden met all those bench marks. Hmmm, I’m not sure about dance but three out of four ain’t bad. President Joe Biden is doing things

tenure as a U.S.

The soul of this nation has grown into this middle aged democracy from the sum of all its past. If you’ve ever asked an older Black person if they want to go back to their youth, nine times out of ten they will prob ably say no and maybe even a hell no. Why? Because ‘age knows and youth supposes.’ Not sure who said that but it’s appropo here. Age gen erally brings on wisdom and Presi dent Joe Biden is showing just how wise he is. Imagine America going back to its youth. Yeah right, that’s not even an option. While 2024 is just around the corner, let’s hope his VP pick can follow his footsteps and become President. Kamala 2024!!!

Let’s talk about Joe Biden the man. President Joe Biden, the oldest Presi dent in history, stumbles, stutters, nods, trips, falls, and anything else you could think of, but I like him. He’s a husband, father of 4, grandfa ther of many, a college graduate and a 36 year seasoned Senator of Dela ware. Sadly, he was a widower, and a father who endured the daily stress of a child serving in the military. He is a man who has remarried well, to Dr. Jill Jacobs. Furthermore, he is a man like me, who knows the pain of burying their son. Fortunately for us, all these roles bring trials and tribu lations which develop character and integrity in a man, qualities I feel a leader

ing on just holding on to third place, not third world, all because we had a soulless selfish former President. When Barack Obama was in the White House, he brought something that Black folks call soul. Soul was on front street for the world to see and President Barack Obama had the wisdom to choose one of the most soulful seasoned white guys he knew, Senator Joe Biden. Now our current President and ex-Vice Presi dent is out to bring back the soul of this nation. His most recent speech, Soul of America outlines just how he is doing it.

Senator, I’m sure he has made some good and bad decisions and has supported some good and bad leg islation. It comes with the territory. However, with age comes wisdom and it ain’t over until the fat lady sings.President Biden has actually had to come behind the worst President ever, from the disastrous years of a self-serving narcissist. The former President followed none of the rules of protocol and displayed the ways of a gangster running amuck in the White House. Now, the former Pres ident has been revealed as stealing highly classified documents leaving us to wonder if they were taken for nefarious reasons or for his friend, the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

America was considered the leader of the Free World. We were respect ed globally for the way we handled democracy. Now America is teeter

in his time and I believe he is praying about it. He is not rushing anything and is believing in and speaking into existence the things he believes who America is and has always been, a soulful nation, a melting pot. His wisdom is on full display.

A woman decided to give herself a big treat for her 70th birthday by staying overnight in a really nice ho tel.. When she checked out the next morning, the desk clerk handed her a bill for $250.00.

collecting their reward, the couple returned to the hotel, and upon arrival, the manager told him “he was very brave to jump” the man replied, “I didn’t jump, some one pushed me!” His wife smiled. Moral of the story — Behind every successful man, there is a woman who pushes him.

She demanded to know why the charge was so high “I agree it’s a nice hotel, but the rooms aren’t worth $250..00 for just an overnight stay - I didn’t even have breakfast!”

This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish... On any land. No questions asked or answer given. Have I made myself clear? Do you understand? “The rancher nods politely, apolo gizes, and goes about his chores. A short time later, the old rancher hears loud screams and sees the DEA officer running for his life chased by the rancher’s big Santa Gertrudis .WithBull.. every step, the bull is gaining ground on the officer, and it seems likely that he’ll get gored before he reaches safety. The officer is clearly terrified. The rancher throws down his tools, runs to the fence, and yells at the top of his lungs... ”Your badge... Show him your badge!”

Two senior citizens meet in the park many years ago and talked and fed the pigeons for almost 20 years. One day one of the fellas shows up and his buddy doesn’t show. At first he thought, well, maybe he has a cold. After a week or so he begins to get worried but realizes he doesn’t ac tually know his friend’s last name or how to get in contact with him. This goes on for a month, then two months, and he fears the worst, that his friend has passed away. But after 3 months here comes his friend walk ing up to the park bench like nothing has happened. He says, my God, I thought you were dead. Where have you been? Well, he says, do you re member that little café we would go to once in a while for coffee and a donut. I was in there by myself and that cute waitress waited on me. Af ter I was finished and left I realized I forgot to leave a tip. She got so mad she called the police and told them I raped her. So here come the police into the senior citizen’s home with a warrant. They stated out loud that I was wanted for rape. Hey, at my age, that brightened my day. When I went before the judge and I was asked to declare if I was guilty or not, I said guilty. He took one look at me and gave me 90 days for perjury.

With even greater emphasis he said, “And if I had all the wine in the world, I’d take it and throw it into the river.”

And then finally, he said, “And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I’d take it and throw it into the river.”

He asked ‘’If I do that, I won’t have to step out of the house?’’Yes, yes’’! I said. I told him how even groceries can be delivered at your door now and how amazon delivers every thing!
