Dear Girlfriend, We have been married for 8 years and it appears to me that we are losing it. My husband pays the bills but he pays me no attention. Every other man is complimenting me but my husband. At first I thought he may be cheating. I believe with all my heart, he is not. I have checked his phone, his e-mail, and he is always timely at home. I really think he is just getting older. I am 39 and he is 51. My husband has always been hot and heavy, now he is just heavy. I am a Christian, I love my husband and I want my marriage to work. I want to be faithful, but I am not satisfied. I have found my mind wondering when I look at other men. How am I going to handle this? I want to be married but I don’t want to live a sexless life? Still in Love Dear Still In Love, It sounds like your husband has hit a sluggish stage and is slacking off but not cheating. It happens throughout all marriages. It’s time you step up your game.. As men get older, they move a little bit slower but they do still move. Ladies I know “we want instant coffee and instant tea... we want instant everything.” Well, get instant out of your head. Instant will be few and far between after 50 and for some men, earlier than that. This does not mean it cannot be just as good. I think better. This is the age when your foreplay skills are truly utilized. I believe it is your job as a wife to take care of your husband. The sluggishness could be related to his diet, his stress level or a deficiency. I insist that my husband eat something green everyday and I make sure he drinks plenty of water. We have to make these things available to them. Vitamin E and zinc supplements can be taken daily if there is a deficiency. Walnuts are known to be powerful for men. So add walnuts to his diet, in salads, or his deserts (over ice cream on top of cakes) and as a snack. When men are stressed out they usually are not thinking about sex. They are thinking about that job and providing a living for you. You are going to have to help your husband change his focus when he comes home. He has to relax and get his mind off his problems. How do you do this? Utilize all his senses; sight, smell, taste, hearing and touch. Do you have music in your bedroom? Of course you do. It’s on the music station of your TV. Adult videos are also accessible. A little wine is effective. However, too much alcohol is a suppressant and inhibits things. Cannabis, a hit or two will usually do. Shower him with compliments, not complaints. A good hot bath together and a rub down afterwards works wonders. A nice fragrance helps. Stop going to bed when you are already dead tired. Go to bed early. Are you a lazy lover? Don’t be.. Help increase his blood flow by massaging his feet, legs, thighs and whatever else that needs massaging. He will in turn want to do the same for you. Go get yourself a massage. Once you have had a massage or two, you will be better at giving them. Do what it takes to keep your marriage and blood flowing. You say you are a Christian. Are you practicing it? Do you thank God after an orgasm? Well, I do every time, because I know that it is a wonderful gift from God. Do you pray with your husband out loud asking to forever be able to satisfy him and for him to forever be able to satisfy you? We do! The Bible says that when two or more gather in His name, He is in the midst. You are two, be in agreement and exercise your power within your marriage. It is written in the word that God wants to be included in all things. Including him! Know that prayer does change things. Remember you did stand before God and witnesses vowing “for better or worse, til death do us part.” Every blue moon he may need a jump start with a little pill but he should not need it regularly. What he needs is a patient, loving, praying wife. Fight temptation & honor your promise to God.

You Heard It From ME

By Publisher Daryl Johnson

A Ball of Confusion... but you Must VOTE anyway! As I look at all the things going on, I think about the Temptations famous song, “Ball of Confusion.” Back in the civil rights era of the 60’s and 70’s, songwriters and singers with Motown were very inspirational yet controversial. Drenched with Black visionaries, their lyrics were descriptive of the times and their struggles Sing along with me. “People moving out, people moving in Why? because of the color of their skin Run, run, run but you sure can’t hide An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth Vote for me and I’ll set you free Rap on brother, rap on Well, the only person talking about love thy brother is the preacher And it seems, nobody’s interested in

learning but the teacher Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration Aggravation, humiliation, obligation to our nation Ball of confusion Oh yeah, that’s what the world is today Woo, hey, hey The sale of pills are at an all time high Young folks walking round with their heads in the sky The cities ablaze in the summertime And oooh, the beat goes on Evolution, revolution, gun control, sound of soul Shooting rockets to the moon, kids growing up too soon Politicians say more taxes will solve everything And the band played on......”

We are in an ever changing society, but we’ve heard the sages of our times say, “There is nothing new under the sun.” White supremacy organizations have the audacity to become overt again. Voting rights and Women’s rights to choose are once again being challenged. Is history repeating itself? Just read the lyrics. Fighting for gun control, taxes, education, drugs and race. I believe society has to know history; its downfalls and its successes. Not knowing is why history repeats itself. As a young person, this is an excellent time to begin taking notes and saving money because you will probably live to a ripe old age, say 85 to 100 years old, witnessing history repeat itself more than once. glean from this! Young people, expect some hard times ahead. Housing, Policing, and

Education will be difficult in your future if you don’t confront it now. It is imperative that you exercise your right to vote, you may not have it for long if you don’t. The right to vote is world changing. While you may not see it or believe it, history will show you. This year’s elections will tell us just what we can expect for the future of our families. Exercising this little power that we all have as citizens, makes us awesome as a collected voice. Find out ALL YOU CAN about your candidates, what they truly stand for. Know what it is you really want from your country and demand it with your vote. In the immortal words of John F Kennedy, “ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”. What you can do for your country now is vote.

As a girl growing up in Jackson Heights on Wilder, she witnessed a family losing their home. Their belongings

were placed on the curve. The Mother was digging through their things with tears in her eyes, the father pacing, yelling, filled with anger, and embarrassment. Their three small children stood by crying, terrified and confused. A person who held a Real Estate and Mortgage Broker’s license had refinanced several families’ homes using predatory lending practices, thus ending in foreclosure. Years later, at the age of 15 she accompanied her mother to a real estate closing. As a joke, the closing agent asked her to read the legal description. Confused and fearful she decided then to focus on real estate laws, and investment strategies. Real Estate is the foundation for generational wealth and Social Mobility.

FAMU Officials Announce Housing Plan: Florida A&M University (FAMU) has developed a plan to assist enrolled first-time-in-college (FTIC) and transfer students who could not secure on-campus housing. Students under 18 and those with disabilities or who require ADA assistance will get priority. The plan is designed to assist the 506 FTIC students on the waitlist to secure some of the 2,450 on-campus beds. Those students will be eligible to receive $4,000 ($2,000 per semester) for the school year for offcampus rent assistance and the oncampus Gold 400 meal plan valued at $5,716 for the 2022-2023 school year. The first 200 AA transfer students and transfers with fewer than 60 hours who are currently on the waitlist also are eligible for this package. The first 400 upperclassmen assigned on-campus housing who indicate by 5 p.m. July 22 their desire to move off campus will receive this package for the 2022-2023 school year as well. The University hopes that enough upperclassmen will accept the offer and thus create vacancies for FTIC students who can move on campus. Interested students should immediately contact

(From left) Title III Special Projects Coordinator Delores Glover, Office of University Housing Director Jennifer Wilder,Ed.D., Office of Communications Director Keith Miles, VP for Student Affairs William Hudson, Jr., Ph.D., & Pres Larry Robinson, Ph.D. the Office of University Housing by email at famuhousing@famu.edu The relief will serve as a $1,079 average monthly room and board subsidy to ease the financial burden of the additional cost of off-campus housing for the nine-month 20222023 school year. “FAMU maintained these funds to

address issues such as this. Our plan provides some relief for our students and their families,” said President Larry Robinson, Ph.D. “This action is consistent with what we have been doing to promote student success. We have heard the concerns of parents and students, and we developed this plan to assist them.”

By: Andrew Skerritt

The University experienced a spike in demand for on-campus housing due to a larger freshman class as well as a jump in the number of transfer students. At the same time, inflation has made off-campus housing options less attractive. University residence halls – FAMU Towers, Polkinghorne Villages, Sampson & Young, Palmetto and Phase III – were 90.5 percent filled this spring semester. On campus lodging costs range from $2,828 per semester for Palmetto apartments to $3,770 per semester plus the cost of the meal plan for students living in the newer FAMU Towers. Vice President for Student Affairs William E. Hudson, Jr., Ph.D., said the University is currently updating the master plan to address future student on-campus housing needs. “We are also evaluating options with community partners as we review the ratio of students on and off campus. As we implement the FAMU strategic plan 2022 -2027, “Boldly Striking,” our focus on student success includes increasing on-campus residency to support the needs of both returning and new students.”

Empowering Women With a Suit by Ernisa Barnwell -Contributor

Dress for Success Tampa Bay empowers women with career apparel in the bay area. Next Year, Dress for Success will celebrate 25 years of serving the apparel needs of career women who are either entering or reentering the workforce. We sat down with Katie McGill the Executive Director of Dress for Suc-

cess Tampa Bay. “We like to empower women,” said Katie. She went on to say, “It all starts with a suit. What we try to do at Dress for Success is when women come in the door, we give them the confidence that they need when they go out looking for a job. We customize based on the type of job they are looking for. If they are looking for a job we give them suits, shoes, even purses & jewelry. We make sure all our purses have a personal note in them to encourage them. Once they get the job they can come back and get a week’s worth of clothing. Years ago I realized women were coming in and didn’t have a bra. A bra is a big deal, so we worked with Dillard’s, Victoria’s Secret & Vanity Fair. Now every woman gets a new bra. We get more thank you notes for the bras than we do for the clothes.” Another thing Dress for Success gives out is medical grade scrub uniforms.

Katie also shared, she realized especially during the recent pandemic that a lot of clients were losing jobs, yet gaining employment in the Healthcare field. So the new Healthcare workers ended up having to buy scrubs and scrubs were hard to come by because they were in high demand. So Dress for Success obtained

a surplus of m e d i c a l grade scrubs for these job seekers and newly placed Healthcare workers. If you would like to donate new or gently used clothing to Dress for Success Tampa Bay, items are collected on Thursdays at the South Tampa and St Petersburg Dress for Success has 3 locations; the original boutique is 1705 Howard Ave in South Tampa, another inside Career Source Tampa Bay Building located 9215 N. Florida Avenue next to I-75 and their newest location in St. Petersburg, FL inside the Sanderlin Family Center Complex on. Raymond James funded all that was needed for the St. Petersburg location. Tips for Selling Your Home When listing your home for sale, consider this: 1️.Curb appeal: manicured lawn, fresh colorful plants and fresh mulch 2️.Repaint: fresh + neutral = faster sell 3️.Declutter: removing unnecessary furniture, counter top appliances, bathroom toiletries, etc. makes rooms feel larger 4️.Convert from “Home” to “House”: Remove personal items, i.e. photos, kids art projects, etc. so that buyers can envision the space as theirs 5️.Call a professional cleaner: those baseboards, tile grout and ceiling fan blades need attention. ‼️Bonus Tip: Skip all of these steps and call me for personalized advice . Jokes Go Ahead And Get your Laugh On! 3 Legged Chicken

A man is driving at 45 mph on a freeway when a hen shocks him by overtaking him. He notices that it has three legs. Curious, he follows the hen. It runs for a while, and then turns off the road into a farm. The man stops at the farm and asks the farmer about the hen. ‘Yeah, I breed ‘em. Three legged hens’, the farmer says.. ‘But why?’, the man asks. ‘Me, the wife and my son always fought over the drumstick. So I thought it would be good to have chicken with three legs so we all got one.”, the farmer says. ‘And how do they taste?’, the man asks. ‘Don’t know. Haven’t caught one yet’, the farmer replies.

The Agent

A man walked into a talent agents office with a dog, and when asked what he could do the man told the dog to perform. The dog climbed up onto the piano bench and played several popular songs perfectly while baying and yipping with the music, then he jumped off and began doing a dance number on the floor. Just then the door opened and another larger dog walked in, picked up the first dog by the scruff of the neck and walked out the door The agent asked the man what just happened, and the man replied, “That was his mother. She wants him to become a doctor.”

A husband and wife are on the 9th green when suddenly she collapses. “Help me dear,” she groans to her husband. The husband calls 911 on his cell phone, talks for a few minutes, picks up his putter, and lines up his putt. His wife raises her head off the green and stares at him. “I’m dying here and you’re putting?” “Don’t worry dear,” says the husband calmly, “they found a doctor on the second hole and he’s coming to help you. “Well, how long will it take for him to get here?” she asks feebly. “No time at all,” says her husband. “Everybody’s already agreed to let him play through.”

Common Sense

If you’re being chased by a bunch of cannibals, don’t play dead!

An American soldier, serving in World War II, had just returned from several weeks of intense action on the German front lines. He had finally been granted R&R and was on a train bound for London. The train was very crowded, so the soldier walked the length of the train, looking for an empty seat. The only unoccupied seat was directly adjacent to a well-dressed middleaged lady and was being used by her little dog. The war-weary soldier asked, “Please, ma’am, may I sit in that seat?” The English woman looked down her nose at the soldier, sniffed, and said “You Americans. You are such a rude class of people. Can’t you see my little Fifi is using that seat?” The soldier walked away, determined to find a place to rest, but after another trip down to the end of the train, found himself again facing the woman with the dog. Again he asked, “Please, lady. May I sit there? I’m very tired.” The English woman wrinkled her nose and snorted, “You Americans! Not only are you rude, you are also arrogant. Imagine!” The soldier didn’t say anything else; he leaned over, picked up the little dog, tossed it out the window of the train, and sat down in the empty seat. The woman shrieked and railed, and demanded that someone defend her and chastise the soldier. An English gentleman sitting across the aisle spoke up, “You know, sir, you Americans do seem to have a penchant for doing the wrong thing. You eat holding the fork in the wrong hand. You drive your cars on the wrong side of the road. And now, sir, you’ve thrown the wrong bitch out the window.”

Under Par

A golfer teed up his ball on the first tee, took a mighty swing, and hit his ball into a clump of trees. He found his ball and saw an opening between 2 trees he thought he could hit through. Taking out his 3-wood, he took a mighty swing. The ball hit a tree, bounced back, hit him in the forehead and killed him. As he approached the gates of Heaven, St. Peter asked, “Are you a good golfer?” The man replied: “Got here in two, didn’t I?”

The Poem

A priest and a shepherd from Australia participate in a TV game. After answering all the questions, there is a tie. So both are given one final assignment. It is to write a poem in three minutes, using the word “Timbuktu.” It is a city in Africa. The priest returns with the fruit of his inspiration:”I was a father all my life, I had no children, had no wife, I read the bible through and through on my way to Timbuktu.” “The poem makes a great impression, and the priest smells a sweet victory. But then comes the shepherd, with his winning masterpiece: “When Tim and I to Brisbane went, We met 3 women cheap to rent. They were three and we were two,So I booked one and Tim Booked Two ...

The Obituary

Judy married Ted and they had 13 children. Ted died. She married again, and she and Bob had 7 more children. Bob was killed in a car accident 12 years later. Judy remarried again, and this time, she and John had 5 more children. Judy finally dies, after having 25 children. Standing before her coffin, the preacher prayed for her. He thanked the Lord for this very loving woman and said,“Lord, they are finally together.” Ethel leaned over and quietly asked her best friend, “Margaret, do you think he means her first, second, or third husband?” Margaret replied: “I think he means her legs, Ethel.”

Star Struck

Only women of a certain era will fully appreciate this.... True story. A Michigan woman and her family were vacationing in a small New England town where Paul Newman and his family often visited. One Sunday morning, the woman got up early to take a long walk. After a brisk five-mile hike, she decided to treat herself to a double-dip chocolate ice cream cone. She hopped in the car, drove to the center of the village and went straight to the combination bakery/ice cream parlor. There was only one other patron in the store: Paul Newman, sitting at the counter having a doughnut and coffee. The woman’s heart skipped a beat as her eyes made contact with those famous baby-blue eyes. The actor nodded graciously and the star struck woman smiled demurely. Pull yourself together! She chides herself. You’re a happily married woman with three children, you’re forty-five years old, not a teenager! The clerk filled her order and she took the double-dip chocolate ice cream cone in one hand and her change in the other. Then she went out the door, avoiding even a glance in Paul Newman’s direction. When she reached her car, she realized that she had a handful of change but her other hand was empty. Where’s my ice cream cone? Did I leave it in the store? Back into the shop she went, expecting to see the cone still in the clerk’s hand or in a holder on the counter or something! No ice cream cone was in sight. With that, she happened to look over at Paul Newman. His face broke into his familiar, warm, friendly grin and he said to the woman, “You put it in your purse.”
