“Hey, get off my foot!” . . . “Get your elbow out of my face . . .” These and simi— lar exclamations issued from the freshmen as they strove energetically to win the tug-of—war at Notre Dame Academy’s first Field Day held at Miller Park. The day began bright and early when the entire student body assembled at the park. The morning’s activities were limited to competitions among each class. The seniors chose to have a soft-ball tourna— ment; the juniors competed in jumps and relays; the sophomores had gunny-sack races and played kickthe-shoe; and the freshmen held a volley-ball tournament. Lunch provided a welcome break in the morning’s feverish activity as 390 girls settled down to a picnic complete with ice cream and pop. In the afternoon the girls assembled on the green to watch the winning teams from each class compete against each other. The triumphant victors of the day were none other than the FRESHMENI
