“Rowing, not Drifting”: Northwest Christian School’s commitment to continuous improvement

Student Performance

At Northwest Christian, we’re wholly committed to a Biblical worldview and over the forty plus years of our school’s existence, we’ve discovered a wonderful truth: the truths of God’s word were given to us because our loving heavenly Father wants us to thrive. More to the point, as a school, we know that God wants our students to thrive. When students align their lives with Biblical truth, they live happier, more productive lives. That is why the second pillar of mission fulfillment within “Rowing, not Drifting” is Student Performance. As we measure and gauge how our students perform–whether we’re monitoring academic performance, athletic performance, spiritual growth, or performance within fine arts–we are both celebrating the wonderful things that our students achieve and making certain that we are on course. For example, academic achievement correlates with the acquisition of knowledge and skills. In monitoring and reporting student achievement, our school is accountable for the return on investment of student aptitude. In other words, our parents give us the best eight hours of a student’s day, five days a week, 180 days per year. By reporting on achievement and performance, we’re demonstrating the value of that investment.
