Current Sustainable Business Aspects
HURR Collective, 2020.
Retold is constantly evolving to become a more sustainable brand, however as a small brand run by one person, there is only so much that can be done. In March 2021, Retold joined HURR Collective rental service. This suggests that Retold is actively looking for new ways to create a multi-dimensional sustainable business. Joining a rental platform enables Retold’s clothes to become more accessible to younger or lower income audiences who possibly couldn’t afford to purchase the clothing. It also provides another platform which Retold will be promoted on, with HURR boasting 68,000 Instagram followers.

Retold, 2020.
Retold’s UK audience receive their purchase in a bag made from 100% recyclable materials and can be recycled, although it is up to the customer to dispose of the bag appropriately. Delicate items are packaged in re-usable cotton muslin bags. These bags can be repurposed in the customer’s home, or can be sent back to Retold to be reused through their ‘Circle Back’ scheme. As an incentive to encourage customers to act with sustainability in mind, for every 5 bags circled back, you receive a free standard UK delivery. These small changes make a great difference, and are much easier to implement than larger changes to business structure or adding new sustainable lines and collections
