Future Considerations
An intention for the partnership between Layer and Retold was to test sustainable practices and work towards implementing these into Retold’s regular business strategy.
Following a successful launch, Layer will work with Retold to put strategies and manufacturing processes in place to enable Retold to continue Re-Story as a regular collection. This will help to increase and expand the consignment service Retold already operates, and will help to create unique garments and set Retold apart from its competitors, during a time when vintage fashion market is increasing and there is a need to stand out.
As Retold has recently joined HURR, the pieces from the Re-Story collection could move onto the HURR rental platform. This would appeal to Retold’s younger audience further due to the reduction in cost, as well as other target consumers who have a lower income or who want to shop more sustainably. It also fits the ethos of Retold’s brand, as renting clothing creates an interesting and circular journey for a garment, adding to the story of the garment, and promoting conscious consumption.
