Have you ever thought about your mindset in regard to your business and life? Are you relational or transactional? Do you believe in collaboration or competition? Do you believe in abundance or scarcity? Are you short-term or long-term focused?
Depending on how you truly answer these questions will determine not only your enjoyment in your life and business but also how long your business will continue to succeed. Creating success in the shortterm, and sustaining success over time, are two very different things.
Simon Sinek’s book The Infinite Game is a transformational book around this topic. He brings about the point that in business, most of the time, the pie is plenty big enough for everyone, and that we are better off focusing on how, collectively, we can grow the pie together, versus trying to take a crumb off your competitor’s plate. He says that if you embrace your competitors as co-players, you will start to develop a mindset of abundance over scarcity, which will in turn get you to focus on the big “why” in your business… more than the person next to you who is trying to “beat you.” This shift creates more success for you and your organization.
This focus on abundance over scarcity, and how that drastically alters our experience, is something I have been putting a lot of awareness around lately. Did you know we have something in our brains called the Reticular Activating System (RAS) that is a bundle of nerves at our brainstem that only allows important information to come through our brains and filters out the “unnecessary” data?
What is interesting is that there are billions of bits of data coming through our five senses at any given moment, and our brains can only process a tiny fraction of that information. This is where the RAS comes in. And, the data that gets allowed in, is determined by our beliefs. If you believe people are friendly, that is what you will see and experience. If you believe people are wicked, that is also what you will see and experience. If you believe there is abundance… you guessed it…you will live in a world filled with abundance. “Ask and you shall receive,” has never rang truer.
As we enter into the midway point of the year, I want to challenge you to look at your beliefs and how you are approaching your life and business. Some of you may realize that you have been allowing your RAS to show you a world that is making it more difficult for you to create the life you want. It is important to ask… are you playing the infinite game?
I hope to see you in the land of abundance!
Jordan Espeseth Founder/Co-OwnerIt doesn’t take long when you look at the world around you to see examples of positivity, strength, and resolve.
One of those who exemplifies those traits is Michelle Johnson.
As Broker/Owner of Modern Edge Real Estate, Michelle provides a powerful example of resilience at work.
Michelle moved to Oklahoma City from Tulsa with her husband, Rocky, and their three children, to attend Oklahoma University for Interior Design.
“We got the wonderful news that our family was going to grow by two more! However, the twins were diagnosed with Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome early on, creating a difficult, high risk pregnancy, so unfortunately school was no longer an option at that point in time,” she remembers.
They faced a very difficult chapter in life when their identical twins, Vaughn and Vincent, were born at 25 weeks. And, after eight long days, they lost Vincent.
“They were born with fire-red hair! The NICU stay was four months and Vaughn came home with a feeding tube and on oxygen. He stayed on oxygen until his first birthday,” Michelle remembers.
“That’s around the time when I got my real estate license in 2007. We had three other girls at the time.
Because of our son’s disabilities, we thought he was going to have another brain surgery. My husband joined the military, so we had access to good medical benefits. While he was deployed to Afghanistan, we got the news that Vaughn was actually not going to need the second surgery after all, which was wonderful to hear!”
Moving Forward
It wasn’t long before Michelle and her family moved to Virginia while her husband went through training for the summer. From there, they moved to Texas when he was stationed at Fort Hood.
“I got my license in Texas and worked with military families. He got out in 2012, and we moved to Fort Worth and made it our permanent home. We still love it here,” she remembers.
“At that point, I started over again. Each time we moved, I needed to start my real estate business over by creating a new sphere of people in each area. I got really good at starting over.”
Michelle is goal-oriented. Through time, she remained focused on becoming a Broker. In February 2019, she earned her Broker’s license and started Modern Edge Real Estate.
“In the process, my goal was to help other agents get what they wanted out of this business. My vision was to have an office that had a coffeehouse feel. I wanted it to be inviting and not filled with
cubicles. I wanted it to be a place where we could entertain and gather … a place where our team members wanted to bring their clients,” Michelle remembers.
“We bought a building in 2020. It was a 1940s home that was zoned commercial. We gutted it, ripped out walls, opened it up, and gave it a cottage cozy feel where we could do all types of events throughout the year. We finished it in 2021 and kicked everything off in September 2021.”
Team Pride
Today, Michelle is proud to lead her team of seven agents.
“We don’t chase leads. We focus on activities that attract business to us. That’s what I teach,” Michelle says. “I love teaching other agents about real estate and also seeing the joy on our clients’ faces.”
Family is at the heart of life for Michelle. She cherishes time with her husband, Rocky, and their children — Hailey, Cambry, Vaughn, Vinny, and Ashlynn.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys her 220-gallon saltwater aquarium. Her and her family also raise Holland Lops, help place rescue rabbits in new homes, and
enjoy taking the bunnies to senior citizen centers for some Snuggle Therapy. Recently, they added two Rottweiler puppies who are now eight months old that she enjoys working with and training.
Game nights are big at the Johnson household, as are times spent hosting friends and family.
When you talk with Michelle, you feel like you’ve known her for a long time. As a result, the connections she builds with her clients and team members are very strong.
“I always want to be a positive force for people … to listen to them, motivate them, and give them suggestions they can use in their lives,” she says with a smile.
While every life is reflected by the challenges and triumphs a person faces along the way, one of the true measures of success is having the strength to move forward for yourself and those around you. That’s something that Michelle Johnson definitely has … a driving force to help others succeed.
Each of us needs a coach, no matter what season we’re in. Luckily for you and your clients, you have Glenda White, The Mortgage Coach DFW.
When you talk with her, it’s easy to see the passion she has for her work with her REALTOR® partners.
“What we do is about serving our community and clients. It’s about living that dream. I didn’t really have that growing up. I had no guidance when I became a homeowner, so it feels good to be able to provide that,” Glenda explains.
Glenda has been a coach through time in various walks of life. In fact, she has been a football cheer coach, picking up and extending a legacy of coaching that was started by her grandmother in the 1960s. Today, she serves as President of her cheer organization. In fact, she has served in that capacity several times.
As Glenda came of age and considered her professional career, she started working at American Airlines at the age of 19. Then, in 2007, she started working with then Countrywide Mortgage, now Bank of America, as an Administrative Assistant. Through that process, she was involved in helping to open a new branch.
“When I got into the business, I was 27 years old and didn’t know much about it. But I enjoyed it, learned the ropes, and eventually moved into the sales side,” Glenda says.
In 2017, Glenda joined the team at Verity Mortgage. The experience with the company has been wonderful for her.
Teamwork is at the heart of the passion that Glenda has for her work.
Today, she leads a close-knit team that includes a Production Processor, a Loan Assistant, and Production Manager.
“We pride ourselves on innovative technology and servant leadership. We want to help our partners grow their business with a one-on-one environment,” she says. “We do that in a number of ways, including the use of technology and social media.”
In addition, Glenda also teaches classes throughout the community to support members of the real estate community.
“Our mobile-friendly app helps our partners and clients be able to follow the path throughout the process. They get push notifications with our video messages. I direct them to my YouTube so they get a personalized video, as well,” Glenda says.
“Plus, we have a 12-week plan of action that we go through with all my agents. Through that, we talk about a variety of topics including mindset, Google my business, struggles they face, talking about a new mortgage product, and discussing ways we can support them and help them grow.”
Away from work, Glenda treasures time with her family, including her husband of 20 years, Kevin, and their children—19-year-old daughter, Kourtnie, who is studying Digital Media in college; and their daughter, Kaysen, who is a
second-grader who already has her eyes set on someday working in the business with Glenda.
In their free time, Glenda and her family are huge football fans. They also have a passion for time spent outdoors, as well as visiting Top Golf or playing a round of golf.
As Glenda looks to the future, she places a lot of positive emphasis on creating a consistent, excellent experience for her partners and clients.
“We really follow the Chick-Fil-A model where people know that they will get the same, high level of service and quality each time they visit,” Glenda points out. “That’s what we pride ourselves on achieving … delivering that same great service all the way from pre-approval through post-closing.”

That power is magnified many times over when two like-minded people who care about each other team up.
That’s the dynamic at work with the husband-and-wife team of Noahmi and Carlos Parra.
As Division Presidents with the Jason Mitchell Real Estate Group, Noahmi and Carlos share the same path in life and business. In turn, they appreciate the way they are able to reach further on behalf of those around them … together.
“We really enjoy mentoring others in real estate coming into the business with no help or guidance,” Carlos says. “We have always focused on building teams.”
Noahmi remembers how she and Carlos met.
“We both grew up in ministry. We were pastors’ kids from Phoenix,” she remembers. “That’s all we knew at that time, but we knew that we wanted more. The market in 2007 was insane. Carlos was a bit nervous of me starting. I went into real estate because I thought it would be easy and I loved sales. Of course, as we all know, it’s not easy. I quickly found out that it was totally the opposite, a very tough market with no mentor or guidance and then the crash of 2008.”
Carlos remembers the sense of satisfaction they had through their work of faith.
“We worked with urban youth through our ministry. At the time, real estate was something to add income to our daily living. It grew from there,” Carlos recalls.
“I’m proud of Noahmi. She started in the middle of a tough market. But she survived it and became Rookie of the Year.”
It was January 2007 when Noahmi earned her license, with Carlos joining her in the business in May 2016.
The two have definitely enjoyed a long, fruitful path together. They’ve been married for 24 years. Their love story first started when they were coming of age.
“I had a crush on Noahmi ever since I was 14 years old,” Carlos says with a warm smile. “We met in church. For a time, life took us in separate directions, but then we met again when we were 20 years old.”
It’s clear that they have a passion for their work and each other.
A person who is committed to pursuing a vision they have for the future is a formidable force for good.
“I love the fact that I get to work with my husband. Carlos and I help each other a lot,” she says. “He’s understanding of the time that the business demands. He knows what it takes with this business … the hours that it takes.”
Carlos beams with pride about the gifts he sees in his wife.
“Even before real estate, she was always the sales-driven person. We used to sell gold, perfume, clothes, we also did a kiosk in the mall where we sold candles,” Carlos says. “We’ve been working together ever since we got married. I think it has really helped us understand each other. Our goals are set in the same direction. We pick each other up at times.”
As they look at their move from Arizona to Texas, they believe it gave them—and their relationship—an important edge and advantage.
“I believe coming to Texas was huge for us … to start something new and focus on building our legacy. When we came here, it was a time for us to build. In the process, our family and girls work alongside us. We enjoy building something of our own. We set goals together and every decision we made was based on that.”
When they came to Texas, they didn’t have a sphere of influence in the area. In fact, they didn’t know anyone.
“We built this from zero. But I don’t believe we did this by ourselves. I honestly believe that God lined things up for us,” Carlos says. “I believe in purpose and destiny, and we became part of the Jason Mitchell Group just at the right time for us. Within the year, we became the division presidents for Dallas, and now within a few years, Noahmi is one of the managing Brokers over the whole state of Texas.”
Their results have been remarkable. In fact, in 2021, they recorded $24 million in sales volume representing 77 closings.
Last year, in 2022, they amassed 74 closings representing $29 million in sales volume.
Family makes life much richer for Carlos and Noahmi. They cherish time spent with their three daughters — 26-yearold, Scarlett; 21-year-old Anais; and 18-year-old Viance.
In their free time, they enjoy time with family, traveling, grilling, and enjoying good food.
Day-by-day, Noahmi and Carlos make a difference in the lives of those they get to know and work with. Along the way, they are a prime example of the power that exists when you do what you love with those you love.

It can be easy to get caught in the churn of everyday life … the nuts and bolts of transactions and commitments in life. In the process, time flies — along with months. Before you know it, the planning you hoped to do has been moved down the line.
One of those who enjoys helping his clients look for—and take advantage of—future possibilities is Matthew Crites.
As a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Realty, Matthew loves connecting them with what’s next.
“When I look at what I do, I really believe that this job is all about connecting with people,” Matthew says.
“Each day, my focus is on helping people around me be successful and supporting them as they reach for their goals.”
Man on the Move
Matthew was born in California. Growing up, he was definitely on the move with his father’s career in logistics. In the process, he moved to places such as Idaho, Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Texas.
“I traveled a lot. The upside of that was I got to know how to communicate well with people,” Matthew says.
“I feel like I got an opportunity to see the best of the U.S. and how to relate with people from different areas and regions.”
On the Sales Track
Matthew attended high school in Abilene, Texas, where his father ended up retiring. Along the way, Matthew pursued a career in sales.
“My first experience in sales was working for one of my friends’ dads who had a carpet cleaning business. I made him a deal that he would pay me $75 for every booking that I got for him. I killed it,” he says with a smile. “The biggest takeaway for me was that I realized I was pretty good with people.”
That was just the start. Matthew went on to work in several sales roles.
“In college I worked with Hot Topic and Zumiez,” he says. “I became a District Manager and ran stores and managed people.”
As Matthew remembers, his entry into real estate, “... happened in the most natural of ways.”
“About 13 years back, a couple of good friends of mine in the industry were there for me when I had some questions on switching careers. One being an agent and the other a lender, I felt blessed that I had that kind of insight into the industry, and after some research, I realized that real estate was standing out to me,” Matthew says.
“I love working with people on a personal level, I was passionate, and have a drive. Also, I’m an emotional guy in the sense that I like to connect with clients and hear their stories. I want them to understand that when they buy a house, they checked a big box on their list.”
Matthew earned his license in September 2013. Since then, he has carved out a growing success story.
“The most rewarding part of what I do is putting a plan together and seeing it play out the way you and your client hoped it would be,” Matthew says.
“I love being able to deliver, whether that’s an investment property or their first home. I love seeing that success that they get to enjoy.”
The results have been rewarding all the way around. In fact, in 2022, Matthew recorded $15 million in sales volume.
Family makes life much richer for Matthew. He has a lot of gratitude in his life for people who have been there to support his success along the way, including his girlfriend, his family, and his ex-wife.
In his free time, Matthew continues an ongoing love for music. In fact, he is a DJ focusing on electronic music — something he has taken on with passion for the past 20 years.
Matthew also has a big place in his heart for traveling to other countries, with Iceland, Amsterdam, and Spain being among his favorites. He also is a big fan of attending festivals and enjoying good food.
Matthew has a heart for helping, too. One of his favorite groups to support is the Community Food Bank.
Care is something that you feel when you talk with Matthew. He brings a thoughtful and dedicated approach to life and work.
“Every time I meet someone, I want them to know that I care. I want them to know that I am there to help them find answers and that I’m an optimistic guy.”
Congratulations to Matthew Crites for turning the passion he has for people into results for them … in turn, helping them connect with what’s next in their lives.
I love being able to deliver, whether that’s an investment property or their first home. I love seeing that success that they get to enjoy.
Real Producers magazine started in Indianapolis in 2015 and is now in over 100 markets across the nation and continues to spread rapidly. Real Producers first launched in DFW in August 2018 with North DFW Real Producers (now called “North Dallas”). In May 2019, Dallas Real Producers launched, and then Tarrant Real Producers in March 2021.
In 2022, Tarrant Real Producers split into two publications, North Fort Worth and Fort Worth Real Producers Fort Worth Real Producers launched in August 2022!
A: The top 500 real estate agents in each of the four markets in DFW, based on their annual residential sales production for the previous year, as recorded on the MLS. Refer to the map in this publication for the exact territories. If your broker address is within that given territory, and you are in the top 500, you will receive that publication for the year. There are approximately 60,000 licensed real estate agents in DFW. The list will reset at the end of every year and continue to update annually.
A: We believe that we are better together. When we surround ourselves with other successful, like-minded people, we grow to new heights. Real Producers is a platform that brings together the most elite individuals in DFW real estate.
We take the top 500 real estate agents and RP Vetted Businesses in every market, and we build an exclusive community around that group. We share their stories, successes, market trends, and upcoming events
— really, anything that will connect, inform, and inspire, we put in our monthly publication.
It is important to note that Real Producers is not a brag book. To be in the top 1-2% in your field takes a lot of grit, passion, hard work, trials, tribulations, and a strong “why” to keep pushing on. Real Producers is about sharing and honoring those stories and humanizing you and your peers to create a culture of honor and collaboration that propels us all to the next level.
A: Yes! Each year we have several events. Some are specific to each territory, and some are shared events for all four DFW Real Producers markets. We have several different types of events, such as magazine celebration events, partners-only events, social events, mastermind/ educational style events, and of course, the annual black-tie awards gala called The ESPE Awards. For these events, we invite the top 500 real estate agents and our RP-vetted businesses. Top 500 agents are allowed to invite members of their team, as well. These events are an incredible opportunity to connect with the best of the best in DFW real estate. It is amazing to see the power in the connections made at these events. Be on the lookout for your exclusive invites!
A: It’s really simple. You have to be on the top 500 list, and we take nominations seriously. You can nominate other real estate agents, businesses, brokers, owners, or even yourself! Office leaders can also nominate real estate agents. We will consider anyone brought to our attention who is in the top 500 because we don’t know everyone’s story, so we need your help to learn about them. We cannot guarantee a feature, but we encourage you to meet with one of our team members, support Real Producers and attend our private events to increase your chances.
You can email your nominations to jordan.espeseth@n2co.com.
Q: WHAT DOES IT COST A REAL ESTATE AGENT/TEAM TO BE FEATURED?
A: Zero, zilch, zippo, nada, nil. It costs nothing, my friends, so nominate away! We are not a pay-toplay model. We share real stories of Real Producers.
Q: WHO ARE THE RP-VETTED BUSINESSES?
A: They are one of the best businesses in DFW in their category, and you can find them listed in our index! We don’t just find these businesses off the street, nor do we work with all businesses that approach us. One of many of the top real estate agents has recommended every single business you see in this publication. We won’t even meet with a business that has not been vetted by one of you and “stamped for approval,” in a sense. Our team will further vet every business to make sure they are a good fit and bring value to our community. Our goal is to create a powerhouse network, not only for the best real estate agents in the area but for the best businesses, as well, so we can grow stronger together. When you meet one of them, be sure to thank them for their continued support and for investing in you and your growth.
Q: HOW CAN I RECOMMEND
A: If you know and want to recommend a business that works with top real estate agents, please email us to let us know at jordan.espeseth@n2co.com.
There are many ways of advancing toward what you have envisioned for your future. As you might guess, it belongs within you.
When you have a sense of purpose in what you do, you have an intrinsic power to fuel your success in life.
Guided by God
That’s the spirit that guides the life and work of Terre Coble.
As a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Lonestar DFW, Terre moves forward in faith for those around her.
“I love being involved in the community, civic activities, and teaching Sunday school in church. I’ve always loved being able to help people through whatever I was involved in. My favorite thing about real estate is I have been blessed to know people that I didn’t know before,” Terre explains.
“I consider my job to be a ministry. As a result, I’m able to make a living. My whole thing is that God has blessed me with the business I’m supposed to have … and he protects me from the business I’m not supposed to have.”
Finding Her Path
Terre earned her real estate license in August 2015. Before that, she had pursued other paths in life.
She graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Zoology. After her collegiate career, she worked in corporate America and stayed home with her three boys for a while.
“It was important for me to be available for my kids. I worked as a tutor in math and reading for five years and did a marketing job for a company for a while,” Terre says.
“I’m a believer. I can’t tell you why, but the Lord really called me into real estate in 2015.”
Blessed
Terre earned her license in 2015, then jumped into the business full-time. Today, she feels blessed to be working with two other office mates.
Terre looks forward to time spent with her family.
“I have three wonderful sons who are all grown now,” she says with a warm smile. “Seth, Casey, and Tucker are a big part of my life.”
Active Pursuits
Those who know Terre appreciate the relentless level of energy that she brings to her life, her work, and to the needs of the people around her.
She definitely stays on the move in more ways than one.
In fact, in her free time, Terre is a runner. She also likes to work out at the gym. She also has a passion for staying involved with her church — Lake Church. There she has been involved with teaching youth for 13 years.
She likes to help out with the backpack ministry that delivers sacked meals to school children each week, so that children have healthy food to take home over the weekend.
