Storytelling in the Forest Camp 2019 July 8-12th, 2019

The magic of storytelling in the forest will come alive as children play in their imaginary setting using props, story stones, talking trees and creepy crawlies (if they wish). We set the stage but play and storytelling is child led. Talking sticks may be used to enhance listening skills as others tell their own stories. Storytelling in the Forest will develop imagination, build confidence, expand vocabulary and develop public speaking skills. Not every story will be published but simply playing with storytelling will enhance engagement.

Water Play Camp 2019 July 15th – 19th 2019

Expect to get wet!!! A change or two of clothes is a necessity for the Water Play Camp. Campers will play with squirt guns, water balloons, play water games and experiment with water. As an outdoor activity the water play is a fun time. Let’s race the ducks with a water blaster! Let’s play beach ball relay games, human ring toss, water sponges and so much more! Calmer water play experiments will be planned should we find ourselves inside for the day or a part of it. Most activities will take place outdoors even with light rain. Kids love the rain!!

Outdoors Adventure Camp s2019 Camp #1 July 22nd - 26th, 2019 Camp #2 Aug 19th – Aug 23rd, 2019

The Outdoors Adventure Camp is all about exploration in the woods, collecting materials in nature and building forts and bridges. It’s all about play and self-expression. Basic survival skills and playing old fashion games such “Kick the Can” or “Capture the Flag”. Play in the forest is child led. They have the ideas. They plan the rules of the game. Campers will discover the science of pulleys, exploring a giant pulley with the group and then design and build their own apparatus using small pulleys. Participants will build bridges and structures, discovering elements of architecture should we need to spend time indoors due to extreme weather. Campers will also learn elements of orienteering using a hand-held GPS.

Pirate Camp 2019 July 29th – Aug 2nd, 2019

What kind of pirate are you? Calling all girls and boys to be a pirate for a week and choose your own pirate name! Play in a pirate ship! Make and sail a mini pirate raft! Go on a nature treasure hunt! Draw your own treasure map and have others find your treasure! Watch out, you may have to walk the plank! Older campers may be in their own group if they wish and create a secret code and try to crack other secret codes. They’ll make a boat to sail against their friends. Where will the wind take it? How about make & fly your own pirate flag?? Play pirate games?? The choices are endless!!

Science in the Forest Camp Aug 5 -Aug 9, 2019

Mad Science & Engineering for kids in the forest. Playing in the forest lends itself to exploration and experimentation. Explorers will participate in woodland activities, build bridges, test chemical reactions, make crystals and experiment to find their favourite slime recipes. And we don’t have to worry about the mess! Come prepared for a full day Harry Potter Magical Science Day! Children will be grouped for specific crafts/experiments depending on age, ability and interest.

Fairies & Gnomes Camp 2019 Aug 12th - 16th, 2019

Fairies like people and like to help solve their problems. They are magical and will tell you sweet suggestions to help you have the best fun. Participants will move with the rhythm of the music with Fairy Ribbons and wands. Gnomes are the keepers of the forest. They offer wisdom of the woods and can teach you many things about plants and animals that live there. Both the spirits of Fairies & the Gnomes work together. Fairies will alert Gnomes about new forest visitors who are kind, loving, and love nature. Is that you? Well, this camp is for you. We strive to have children experience nature centred on the Fairy & Gnomes theme. At this camp, children will create fairy doors & build gnome hideaways. Wings and costumes will be available, but children are welcome to bring their own. We'll tell magical stories and use our imaginations to tell and act out our own stories.
