Summer Outdoors Adventure Themed Camps Camp Counsellor Application Position Title: Camp Counsellor Positions Available: 1-3 Position Summary: As a Camp Counsellor you will be the facilitator of the Summer Camp Program. You will assist with the planning of the curriculum for the themes for each of the seven-week Murray’s Pond Themed Camps in liaison with the Camp Coordinator/Administration of Murray’s Pond. This is an outdoor summer camp You will be responsible for guiding and assigning tasks to the Junior Camp Counsellors. Background and Qualifications 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

18-25 years of age to apply as Murray’s Pond Camp Councillor Possess good leadership abilities & responsibility skills Demonstrate appropriate behaviour at all times Positive attitude and enjoy working with children aged 5-12 Is patient, enthusiastic, self-controlled and dependable Has ability to work with others and follow directions Ability to take initiative with program and participants

Duties & Responsibilities 1. Assist Camp Coordinator with curriculum planning 2. Prepare materials for themed camps 3. Greet and inform parents/guardians about the day’s activities and any concerns you or their child may have 4. Prepare schedule for each day and keep on time with some flexibility 5. Plan and participate in all camp activities

6. Daily set-up and clean-up 7. Be onsite 8:30 – 4:00 pm daily. Supervising early drop off & pick up times will be negotiated with each counsellor. 8. Work cooperatively and efficiently with Junior Counsellors 9. Seek assistance & advice from Camp Coordinator when needed 10. Perform other duties as assigned 11. Follow the Camp Counsellor Code of Conduct as will be reviewed and agreed upon during 12. Willingness to take participants on the paddle boats is an asset but not compulsory. 13. It is compulsory to spend the door in the forest with the children 14. This is a ‘Back to nature’ camp. Cell phones will not be permitted except for emergency and taking photos to share with parents. Camp training days will be planned for the first week in July. Camps run from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Campers will be dropped off between 8:00 am – 8:45am. A Camp Counsellors will be onsite from 8:00 am-9am for early drop off & 4:00-5:00 pm. This will be separate from regular pay We will be outdoors daily. As Camp Counsellor, you are expected to be prepared and be a good role model with respect to clothing choices including rain gear and sturdy sneakers or boots. You will be supplied with the same camp list as campers. Everyone is expected to bring a bagged lunch daily paying attention to allergy concerns that will be outlined before the camp week begins. There will be an option to pre order lunch for the week from Murray’s Pond kitchen. Please leave all valuable items at home including electronics. Murray’s Pond is not responsible for stolen or lost goods. Campers are informed that no electronics are permitted at camp. Please send your resume to the email address below.
