My Masks
My identity, concealed like a mystery
Now I could be free and live happily
Thrashing out my stress nothing to confess now I feel the happiness
These stresses change into joy an enjoyable party
Acting things out weirdly
Dancing as happily as I could
Now if feel very good
As I thought I would
Wearing a Mask
I wear a mask. Sometimes confident, creative or kind. At the start of the day, I wear my mask. Turning on my smile. My mask can be colourful like a rainbow. Sometimes it can be sharp like a claw. Sharp, swift and severe.
The mask can turn into anything. It can hide me anywhere, even in school.
When I’m tired I wear a new mask. Powerful, tireless, fast. I try to be positive, wearing a mask. Nevertheless, I take off my mask. Then, I go to sleep, With my actual true self.
My Double-faced Society
Behind all the smiling faces
Lies a dark monster filled with insecurity Its feelings stuck beneath cases. The mask whispers to them, ‘Hide yourself, nobody will like you.’
It creeps along your skin like a snake, Devouring your sanity bit by bit. When they wear their mask, They become another person. Completely closing off, Their true selves.
My Mask
Sometimes I wear my mask to hide,
Sometimes I wear it to show my pride. A mask could be creative, Like the person who made it.
Sometimes I cry.
Sometimes I feel shy. A mask may hide my tears, But I am not the new one here.
I show respect to my mask, I can reflect on my mask. My mask is as good as me, even though it might hide me.
I love my mask!
We Wear Masks
We have mask, To make faces hide, Then we ask, Why do we hide,
Crawling under the spreading dark, We hid behind the thick bark, Moving carefully around the house, To steal the shining stone like a little mouse, Stealing a mouse.
Standing infront of the roaring crowd, Ready to catch the ball flying under the cloud, My body shaking, Like an earthquake quivering, Ready to catch, I breath in I caught the ball in mid air!
I feel sad, but I don’t tell, Because my mask hides it all, Inside, my body twists and turns like dancing in a ball, Outside, my body laughs out loud, ringing the bell, That’s why we wear masks, To make our body safe and protect.
Wearing the Shame
Sometimes we all wear the mask.
To hide who we are.
To hide what we want.
To hide our emotions.
This mask is not a normal mask.
It’s like a maze that you’re stuck in that maze.
And you’re tired of walking, you keep falling.
Then the mask arrives on your face, you feel alone But…
You have to be brave. You have to be strong. And you have to take that mask off!
The mask is like a wall in front of you.
You have to break that wall.
The mask hides who you are.
Don’t care about what they say, be yourself.
Let’s take off this shame.
Past is past, think about the future.
Your Mask
You wear a mask every day, Always different from the other.
People see you as a perfect child,
Not knowing the real you behind the mask.
You are seen as an exciting friend.
You are seen as a calm student.
You are seen as a respectful child.
You carry the burden on your shoulders, Unable to reveal yourself.
But when you go home,
All the uncertainty fades and you are free.
Two Masks
When I was small the mask was tough.
Breathing was hard, the air felt rough, I wished the germs could not see me
The world was closed, just walls and me.
The mask was heavy, hot, and tight, I wore it daily morning to night. The streets were empty, silence grew And fear was all I ever knew.
But now a mask can make me bold, A fencing mask, strong to hold. It hides my face but not my eyes, It turns fear to great surprise.
Two masks, two tales deep inside, One was dreaded, one with pride. My darkened days were now so new, Masks have shown what I can do.
We wear a MASK
I wear a mask of red, Anger boiling in my throat, Always mad when mum wakes me up for school, But always glad to go to school.
A mask of yellow always welcomes me, With a beaming smile and excitement building up, Always running to my friends at school, Ready for lessons with teachers and friends.
I also wear a mask of green, Tired and sleepy, my eyes closing after lunch, But always trying to concentrate in every lesson, Working on all the questions correctly and peacefully.
At last I wear a mask of blue, Sad to end the last lesson with my teacher, And say goodbye to my friends, But sooner or later excited for the next day of school.
Masks can tell my school day in a short poem, All masks are unique, Even if they are simple and plain, Changing every school day, Bringing excitement every day.
Masks
Mask for me
And for others as well
Feelings swirl around me
Like masks all around
Sometimes masks of tiredness
Which fades away when I sleep
The mask I wore drops down
Then a new mask comes by
A mask I learn when I dream
Keep me out of the nightmares
OOOooooooooh
When halloween comes, I also wear a mask
It is all unique
Like one another
More and more masks come towards me
Happiness, sadness, depression
As a disguise
Especially for me
