As we approach the final week of term time, it’s a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what has been a full and vibrant two terms. Our boarding home has been a hub of activity, with fantastic trips, events, and moments that have brought us together as a true family.
We’ve been delighted to welcome new students into our community, and while it’s always difficult to say goodbye, we also prepare to farewell some girls who will be moving on from boarding in Term 3. Their presence will be deeply missed.
Boarding life undoubtedly builds resilience, and I truly believe our Pyoseon girls embody that strength. They are independent, courageous young women with a zest for life and a readiness to face its challenges head-on.
As we head into the two-week break, we hope the girls take time to rest and recharge. We’re also mindful that our Year 10 and 11 students will return to a busy exam season, and we wish them all the best in their preparations.
Wishing you and your families a restful and joyful holiday.

New leadership - Welcome to Home Captain – Jennifer
As the home captain of the Pyoseon boarding home, I want to create a more comfortable and enjoyable environment for everyone. Having lived here for three years, I understand the little things that can make a difference in our daily lives. One of my ideas is to set up a snack pantry on the first floor, giving students easy access to a variety of treats. This pantry could serve as a small but meaningful addition, bringing them together and fostering a sense of community. Whether it's grabbing a quick bite after a long day or sharing snacks with friends, I hope this initiative will make Pyoseon feel even more like home.
Wellbeing captain – Rebecca
As Wellbeing Captain, my role is to strengthen communication between students and staff while improving student life within our home. One of my main goals is to bring back the prep time break, giving students a short time to rest, grab a snack, or connect with friends. I also plan to introduce a buddy system to support younger students, ensuring they have someone to talk to if they have any concerns. By working together and listening to student feedback, I hope to create a more supportive and engaging environment for everyone.
Environment prefect – Sophie
As an environment prefect, my role is to ensure that our boarding house feels warm and welcoming, creating a true home for all students. I would like to gather feedback from students on environmental improvements, ensuring that our home reflects the needs and ideas of the students. To enhance our shared environment, I also aim to involve boarders in meaningful projects, such as repainting the walls of the second, third, and fourth floors. I am committed to promoting sustainable practices within our living space, too, fostering eco-friendly habits. I would be responsible for managing our Pyoseon garden, too.
Academic Prefect – Minjae
AsAcademics prefect, I hope I can help with the academic burdens or uncertainties students have. For example, I hope to communicate with different year groups and arrange a prep session for subjects students are facing difficulties with. For students who are entering IGCSE, I hope to arrange a q & a session to help them decide their subjects and share a document containing useful information for how to study well for the course. I want to communicate with everyone in the house to support their academic needs.
Events prefect – Curie
As the Boarding Events Prefect, my goal is to create a lively and inclusive atmosphere within the boarding community by organizing enjoyable events that bring everyone together. I plan to continue traditional activities like scavenger hunts and hide-and-seek while introducing seasonal celebrations and interactive challenges. Furthermore, I aim to work closely with other boarding house prefects to organize social gatherings, allowing students to connect with peers from different houses. I also plan to gather feedback and collaborate to ensure the events cater to a wide range of interests, improving the overall boarding experience for all.
Media Prefect – Seoyun Jung
As a media prefect for the next academic year, my goal is to make memories within Pyoseon more vibrant and cherished to all, creating a welcoming space where everyone feels included.Additionally I plan to organize a mural painting activity that will allow us to build a sense of community while offering an enjoyable and creative experience. I will also work on creating a boarding newsletter, informing everyone about highlight events, achievements, and the unique stories that make our community special.
