Dear Parents,
As we come to the end of a truly memorable year in Iho Boarding, I want to take a moment to thank you sincerely for your unwavering support, trust, and partnership. It has been a year filled with growth—not just academically, but in the life skills that matter most: kindness, resilience, empathy, and learning to live together in a community. Your children have shown remarkable development in navigating friendships, resolving challenges, and building their independence. As one student put it, “Boarding helped me get closer to friends quickly and taught me how to live without my parents for the first time.” Another reflected that “having sleepovers with my group helped us bond—it’s a memory I wouldn’t have had if I wasn’t a boarder.” These aren’t just passing moments; they are foundational lessons in self-awareness and social understanding. Every child has brought something unique and valuable to our community. Melody led with kindness and a quiet determination; Dana embraced her first year with poise and warmth; Ellie provided calm leadership and quiet strength; Stella showed creative flair and a growing sense of voice; Jade gained confidence and independence while making steady academic progress. Madison stood out with her organisation and thoughtful maturity; Nina brought energy, openness and cheer; Elin impressed with academic focus and quiet courage; Susie showed reliability and gentle leadership in many unseen ways. Ari brought spark and curiosity to each day; Amelia displayed grit and a strong moral compass; Alynn faced her exams with maturity and grace; Becky shared her wit and sensitivity; Yeonjae added calm dependability; Cassie balanced routines with a growing sense of herself. Chloe (Woo), our youngest boarder, surprised everyone with her adaptability and independence.
Ella (Jun) showed resilience and a positive attitude; Enguun cared deeply about her environment and peers; Helen showed emotional maturity and kindness; Jeehoo balanced leadership and creativity; Jihyo brought thoughtful reflection to all she did; Josephine contributedthoughtfullytomanyspaces.

Melissa added energy and involvement in co-curricular life; Minsol brought academic calm and steadiness; Olivia showed deep emotional growth and compassion; Qry demonstrated reliability and insight; Saera continued to take on responsibilities with maturity; Sophia stood out for her loyalty and gentle wisdom; Stella (Park) brought a steady, supportive energy;Sumincontributedquietlyandconsistentlytoallaspectsofschoollife;Susiehelped shape the spirit of our community; Yujoo displayed impressive self-discipline and quiet determination.
Each and every boarder has helped make Iho not just a house, but a home. Thank you for walkingthisjourneywithus.Yoursupportmakesallthedifference, andyourchildrenhave madeusproud.Ihopeyouenjoyarestfulbreaktogether, andwelookforwardtoallthatnext yearwillbring.
As Mary Zhang prepares to retire to Melbourne, Australia, we say a heartfelt goodbye and thank you for all she has given to the Iho community. These are the words shared by the girls and the team—messages of appreciation, memories, and admiration that reflect the lasting impact she has had on our lives. Thank you, Mary, for your dedication, kindness, and care. You will always be part of the Iho story.
Ms Meg Shaul, our swimming coach, PE teacher, and graduate assistant with oversight of the Juniors, is leaving for a new teaching post in China. Her warmth, energy, and care have made a lasting impact on the Iho community, and she will be deeply missed.
Ms Melody is moving to take on a faculty post as Assistant Boarding Mistress in Pyoseon Home.
She has been a boarder herself, a grad for two year and now will join the NLCS faculty.
Thank you to everyone who made the Iho Farewell Assembly so special. Qry, Sooin, Teddy, Stella, and Minsol opened the evening with a brilliant group performance, followed by Manlan, Kaylin, Layla, and Enguun with a beautiful IGCSE Mandarin piece. The Year 9 Magic Show was full of fun tricks and surprises, while Jeehoo amazed us all with her stunning solo performance. Thank you to the Year 8 dancers and to the Junior Band—Ariel, Yewon, Elin, Amelia, and Elena—for their wonderful music. Yeonjae and Layla led the Junior dance with confidence, joined by all our Juniors. Susie’s surprise badges were stylish and very well received. A big thank you to Jade for presenting the event so smoothly and for reading the farewell to Ms Meg. We are also grateful to the Mandarin Collaboration lead by Manlan and Nina. Farewell and heartfelt thanks to All Year 11s, Ms Meg, Ms Mel, and Mrs Zhang—you will be truly missed.
