President’s Report “The cancellation of the ARBA Convention has left a huge hole for many of us, and has kept National Specialty clubs busy finding ways to complete the work that was done at convention. ~ Cheryl Loesch As I was working on the upcoming dates for the next few months, it really hit home just how many things have changed for our hobby since March. The cancellation of the ARBA Convention has left a huge hole for many of us, and has kept National Specialty clubs busy finding ways to complete the work that was done at convention. Annual Board and Membership meetings typically take place at Convention. This may be something we can try to host via Zoom, and I’m exploring that possibility. There are fundraising efforts that won’t happen, such as our Golden Fleece Auction. Most of you have seen that we are holding online auctions of goods via our club’s Facebook page. The auctions have received wonderful donations, for which we are very thankful. Additionally, bidder and buyers have enjoyed the events. You can find our page by searching Facebook for National Jersey Wooly Rabbit Club, or by clicking this link: https://www. facebook.com/TheNJWRC/ . A huge thank you to our donors and buyers! Between the Coronavirus and RHDv2, very few shows happening, and those clubs that are hosting shows are working hard to meet the additional requirements. If you choose to go to a show, please comply with any requirements asked by the host club. These requirements are meant to keep you and your rabbits as safe as possible. Those clubs worked hard to be able to hold the show, and not following the rules could jeopardize their ability to put on future shows. on October 17th. As of this writing, the host club, North East Jersey Wooly Breeders, is unsure whether this show will be occurring, and they are looking for other options to hold 2020 Nationals. Please keep an eye on Facebook for information on this event, and if at all possible, please support it by attending. In Board news, we have been working on some updates to the Constitution and Bylaws. This is ongoing work to update bylaws where they are out of date, or to improve them for better functioning of the club. You will have seen a couple of questions on the General Election ballot that deal with such issues. Thank you for turning in your ballots! Committee work also continues on the guidebook, and I’m still working on filling the Education Committee. Final Sweepstakes points are posted for the 2019-20 Sweeps Year (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020). Sweepstakes are always fun to see, and this year, it is good to see people excited about their standings in spite of having a very truncated show year due to the Coronavirus. Please remember that NJWRC show sanctions must be acquired before date of the show; they cannot be granted after the fact. Our sweeps chair, Nicole Schmitt, has a sanction request form and all of the rules required posted on the sweeps site, http://www.njwrcsweeps.com/ . To check whether shows have been sanctioned, please view the “Sanctioned Shows” listing on the same page. You should check this list even if a show flyer lists Jersey Woolies as
