Hello!

I am glad to submit my Portfolio for your consideration. This Portfolio contains the Academic Works that I had worked in my four years of Architecture experience.

I consider Architecture as a process of Solution to the Challenges we experience. The Solution might tackle the issue, but the Process is what makes us think and help us to learn.

I believe that architecture should speak for itself and should evolve and interact with People and the Context.

The public health center is the primary center for examination and point of interaction for a local community with a medical physician.

The site is located in Cheranallor, Ernakulam. The PHC caters over hundred families in its locality. The site is accessible by the sub-main road.

The PHC demands an operation theatre and a labour room apart from the basic PHC functional rooms, consisting of the consultation rooms, triage, vaccination, immunisation and in-patient wards.

The vison behind thedesign was to cut-off the monotonous feel created by the usual government buildings, which refrains the common people from going there.

The design tries to be more holistic and interactive to the user, creating a healing environment and cutting off the chaos.

The waiting areas are enclosed from the southern side using vertical louvers, thereby letting in natural ventilation and lighting.

The staircase area is also well fused with the nature, creating a strong blend between the exterior and interior space.

To design a multifunctional space incorporating public, semi-public and private zones. The site is located in an urban area surrounded by roads on all the sides.

The site is located on MG road, Kochi. Residential and public government buildings along with small scale commercial spaces makes up the surrounding building typology.

There is an acute shortage of multipurpose theatres in the neighbourhood. Also providing hostel / temporary staying space within the building can be seen as a vital feature, which can be either used up by the guests or users of the theatres or the co-working areas.

The connecting core is placed towards the north and is covered with glass facade and louvers to trap the northern light and views.

Cafe outdoor seatings, balconies of appartments are kept oriented to the eastern side of the site for letting in morning light and to have shade in evenings.

The building is oriented in north to south direction, keeping the cores at the rear ends. This helps to reduce the harsh sun entering into the building.

The building has its entrance from the northern side, having a huzzle-free access.

The co-working space is setup in an urban context that has no similar functional space in nearby context.

The future relies on working together, past years has thought us that a physical building is not at all a mandatory anymore for a firm. So the introduction of a co-working space in a new locality inspires and motivates the people to update themselves and use the facility to its fullest.

The workspace should have enough space for diverse space using the space; be it enclosed area, closed cabins, open areas.

The interior theme also influences the efficiency of the users using the space.

The water-front park was a minor project done in semester 5. The core aim implemented in this design is to make a different approach in viewing a communty space.

Having the location of the site in a residential zone, creates a need to appeal to different user groups. The design also connects with adjacent waterbody, which can be viewed as a welcoming factor that catters a wider user group.

Covering a part of park with dense filled trees with llarge canopies can be viewed as a different approach in promoting a bio-freindly livelihood. Water is also used as an element in the design. The water creates an infinite feeling to this park.
