Dr.
Sandra Templeton wants us to know something: “There’s good news in the advancements in breast cancer treatment. The chances of survival are far higher and procedures are less invasive than they were twenty years ago.” She should know, Dr. Templeton focuses on diseases and surgery of the breast, specifically the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Her mission is to provide patients with the most current technologies and procedures in an environment of unequaled compassion and understanding. The one-size-fits-all approach that our mothers and grandmothers received is a thing of the past. For example, if your tests reveal you have cancer, a team of doctors will be assembled to provide treatment that caters to the patient’s specific needs. The team consists of the surgeon, the breast imager, the oncologists, and if needed, a reconstructive surgeon. When you are under the care of Dr. Templeton, you benefit from her philosophy that the treatment should be as individual as the person being treated.

She explains, “The majority of breast cancer can be treated with a lumpectomy and radiation. In the past, doctors have performed mastectomies, but years of data have shown that the survival rate is the same.” Dr. Templeton is a graduate of Baylor University and Baylor college of Medicine. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Although Dr. Templeton is a native Texan who grew up in the Houston area; she has been involved in the Fort Bend community for the past eight years with her husband and three sons. With offices in Professional Building 2 of Methodist Hospital Sugar Land, Dr. Templeton provides the latest in breast cancer care right here in our own neighborhood. As residents of the Sugar Land area, we are fortunate that our healthcare services have grown with our community.
