4TH CLASS

Chess Club is a great after-school club. It is held on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30. Mn. Anthony and Mn. Melissa are the teachers in Chess Club. Kids from Mn. Anthony’s and Mn. Michelle/Lucy’s classes come to Chess Club. Chess Club is very interesting and fun. We enjoy going to Chess Club. We learned about how to use chess pieces such as the pawn, the rook, the knight, the bishop and, finally, the king and queen. We play lots of minigames. At the end of Chess Club, the teachers let experienced players play full chess games.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in 4th class. We are getting into the festive spirit this month by decorating our classroom. We have two Christmas trees in our classroom which we decorated with lights and Christmas baubles. We also hung up Christmas wreathes, tinsel, lights and all our Christmas artwork. To celebrate the countdown to Christmas we even had our own classroom countdown to turning on our Christmas lights. We turned off the lights and counted backwards from 10 and turned on all our Christmas lights at the same time. It was so fun!! This term we also did Rugby for six weeks. Our favourite part was the games at the end. It was fun to do together and everyone really enjoyed it. The coach was very good and the warm up games were very fun. The best game we did was dodgeball. We also did another class project on

Ancient Rome. We made Ancient Roman mosaics for art. We really enjoyed the Christmas artwork we made this month. We made Winter Robins, and decorated our classroom with Christmas baubles. We also made Christmas silhouette art with snowmen and a winter scene in the background. We have also learned many Christmas poems and songs. We are very excited for Christmas this year in 4th class. We would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year.
