Fall Clubs Are Now Open!

It is hard to believe that the month of September has come and gone! We are off to a fantastic start, and it was wonderful to see so many families at our Meet the Teacher Night last month The strong turnout is a testament to the supportive and engaged community we have here at Newton’s Grove Your involvement is so important in helping to create a positive learning environment for our students, and we look forward to building on this momentum as we move into the rest of the school year

Opportunities for students to participate in Fall clubs and sports are underway! Many of our Junior School students have already been involved in soccer tournaments, cross-country tryouts, Grade 5-8 musical auditions, and in-school intramurals I’d like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the NGS teachers and staff for making these extracurricular events possible We’re excited to see the creativity, skills, and

that will emerge in the coming weeks

Thank you once again to everyone contributing to a vibrant and engaging school experience – what a great start to the year, and we’re just getting warmed up!

Celebrating Halloween at Newton’s Grove

On Thursday, October 31st, students at NGS who celebrate Halloween are welcome to wear costumes to school in the morning or dress in orange and black clothing Please note that costumes should not include masks, weapons, or anything with blood or gore Students may also bring pre-packaged, nut-free treats to share with their classmates If you prefer that your child not receive any of these treats, please inform their teacher before Thursday We recognize that Halloween is not celebrated by everyone in our school community Participation in Halloween and other spirit days is entirely optional.

As a school, it is our responsibility to ensure that our community is inclusive and welcoming to all Therefore, we ask that students avoid wearing costumes that appropriate cultures or identities, promote harmful stereotypes, or body-shame In addition to costume fun, our Middle School students will be hosting fall-themed games and activities for JK–Grade 5 students Participation in these activities is also optional Thank you for helping us create a safe and welcoming environment for all

Learning Beyond the Classroom: Adventures Await!

Exciting adventures are in store for our Junior School students! Recently, our Grade 4 students had the fantastic opportunity to explore the Humber College Arboretum, where they connected their classroom learning about animal habitats to the great outdoors. The hands-on experience allowed them to observe various ecosystems and the creatures that inhabit them firsthand.

We’re thrilled to announce that more field trips are on the way for Term 1, offering students even more chances to learn outside the classroom This term, Grade 5 will visit Crawford Lake Conservation, Grade 3 is planning a trip to the Black Creek Pioneer Village, Grade 1/2 will explore Reptilia Zoo, and JK/SK are excited for a nature walk at the Humber Arboretum! Stay tuned for updates on upcoming destinations that will enrich our students’ educational journeys!

Junior School Prefect Spotlight: Anvi Babbar - A Senior with a Passion for Supporting JS Students

This month, we are thrilled to highlight the incredible efforts of Anvi Babbar, our Junior School Prefect, who is dedicated to making a positive impact on our Junior School students As a senior with a passion for leadership and community, Anvi has been actively working on several exciting initiatives to support and engage our younger learners Recently, Anvi organized a Wellness Workshop where she guided students on how to manage stressful situations, providing them with practical tools and strategies for our younger students (JKGrade 2) She led a fun yoga session and ended with a heartwarming discussion on gratitude Anvi also created a “Grate-fall Wall” where students could share what they’re thankful for She planned the project, designed, and set up a beautiful bulletin board in the atrium, which is now filled with thoughtful messages from our JK-Grade 5 students

Anvi’s creativity, leadership, and dedication have had a truly positive influence on our NGS community, and this is just the beginning of the fun initiatives she has planned. Thank you, Anvi, for making a difference!
