THIS YEAR’S SCHOOL THEME GRATITUDE!!!

We have all read or heard about the benefits of practicing gratitude, and in an ever changing fast paced world, practicing gratitude could not be more important

Our faculty regularly ponder upon and share what they are grateful for, whether that be something at school or in their personal life. Sharing daily gratitude is a powerful practice that will have a profound impact on both the mental and emotional well-being of children and adults alike!

We are pleased to share these “Gratitude” virtue cards with you! They have inspired us to contemplate what we are grateful for on a daily basis

Alumni Class Reps will be the conduit between Newton’s Grove School and our Alumni, helping to keep Alumni informed and actively engaged with events, activities and updates at Newton’s Grove, and to help Newton’s Grove to keep in touch with its Alumni body too.

In eighth grade, my family’s financial situation almost prevented me from joining the class trip to Montreal, an opportunity that promised educational and cultural enrichment beyond the confines of the classroom The news that the school would fund my trip was a blessing and a relief, yet the true source of this generosity – a compassionate family’s secret sponsorship – was only revealed to me at graduation. This revelation had a profound impact on my life and solidified my resolve to pay this generosity forward

THE EXPERIENCE WAS MORE THAN JUST A TRIP

This gesture of kindness was not just about providing financial support it made me feel included, valued, and special The sponsoring family cared enough about me and my circumstances to proactively help so that I could have a memorable experience with my classmates in my graduation year With their generosity, I was able to have a life experience that I otherwise would not have enjoyed

The experience was more than just a trip – it was a journey of discovery that forged lasting bonds with my peers and opened my eyes to a new culture, which broadened my understanding of the world and sparked a lifelong interest in travel This experience taught me the power of empathy and the importance of making educational opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting accessible to all

This single act of kindness fueled my desire to ensure others could have similar life-changing experiences Inspired by this experience, I sought ways to amplify that sponsoring family’s generosity on a larger scale, which I think they would appreciate most

It is this passion that led me to join the board of Daytrippers Children’s Charity The organization's mission resonates deeply with my own experience – Daytrippers provides educational trips for children who might not otherwise have such opportunities, facilitating access to cultural and educational experiences that can shape young minds and futures We believe in the transformative power of experiential learning These trips do more than just educate – they inspire curiosity, foster empathy, and cultivate memories that last a lifetime

I believe contributing to Daytrippers is the best way for me to honour that sponsoring family’s generosity and amplify their impact by helping thousands of kids across Canada

I invite you to join me in supporting Daytrippers and extending the ripple of generosity that once so positively impacted my life Together, we can provide children with the gift of enriching experiences, opening doors to new possibilities and paving the way for future success

THESE TRIPS DO MORE THAN JUST EDUCATE
