Time’s Up!

Science Week 2024 - Time Lots of interesting exhibits showed time in creative ways. Holograms and clock tower models impressed many. Talks about dilation sparked deep thought. Students had the opportunity to be creative and their excitement for science was clear. The fair let our young scientists really explore time and show everyone what they learned. The great ideas and innovation of our students were on full display at the first Science Fair Everyone, including parents, will remember this event Well done boys!

Design and Technology Ambassadors at Portway School

The Y3 students developed their knowledge and skills on ways to improve the airport experience for children and people with disabilities

The DT Ambassadors felt they were more confident in delivering a workshop and this will benefit their interpersonal and leadership skills for the future. If you wish to join the DT Ambassadors come to DT club Tuesday after school in G19.

Jack Petchey Award - January 2024

Damien Scott in 11R has won the Jack Petchey Award for January 2024. Damien is an incredibly kind, caring and empathetic young man. He continually shows exceptional resilience in the face of challenge, and is working immensely hard this academic year. He has evidenced an ability to be self reflective beyond his years and I admire him greatly.

Rokeby’s Career Week

As part of Rokeby's Career Week celebration, a group of Y10 computer science students joined a virtual session with Tianna Algar-Crossland from Wates Group, a leading construction company.

Tianna, a pioneer in the male-dominated construction industry, shared her tech career journey She discussed apprenticeship and university routes, along with their pros and cons. Students gave positive feedback, gaining insights into tech industry career paths.

Table Tennis U13s

Alan Sherwood Cup Team Competition

Huge congratulations to our Y7 and Y8 Table Tennis team who finished 2nd in the U13’s Alan Sherwood Cup competition against teams from all over London. Special mention to Nikolay Panayotov in Y7 who dominated the older competition

Y9 v Langdon Academy

Congratulations to our Y9 football team for their dominant performance against Langdon Academy. A commanding performance from captain, player of the match and season top goalscorer Dominic Arthur caused havoc for the Langdon defence as well as contributing with 2 goals. Special mention to our defensive rock Adil Khaksar and Morse’s Magician Abdulmarteen Omidiji for a controlling striker's performance.

U16 Basketball vs Royal Docks

Congratulations to the Y11 Basketball team for their brilliant performance in last night's Basketball match. A great effort from everyone involved saw the team win 33-31. It was a very competitive match and a big shout out to the three Y10 students who stepped up to play. Players of the match were Fred and Yahya K! Well done to everyone involved!

Y7 Football Match Report vs Little Ilford

Congratulations to the Y7 football teams for their fantastic performance against Little Ilford School. Outstanding performances from Ildo Prendi scoring his penalty to make it 3-1. Special mention to Mohammed Aqif Ahmed for his solid performance in defence.

Y 9/10 Futsal Tournament Report

Congratulations to our Y9 and 10 Futsal teams who played fantastically in the Newham sector London Youth Games Qualifiers finishing 1st and 2nd in the competition. A close final match between our 2 teams saw our white team take the win after a tense penalty shootout.
