Dare To Be The Best

"Rokeby was the school I needed to become what I am today. After leaving Italy for London in 2018, I was warmly welcomed by the faculty and community at Rokeby, who offered extensive support to assist a student like myself in adjusting to the significant cultural differences between the two countries.

Time passed quickly, but the memories seem to span a much longer period. In just a few months, I made lifelong friends, met teachers who were genuinely enthusiastic about their work, and involved myself in a wide range of activities. I'll never forget spending my Saturdays in the school gym and on the football pitch, going on an exhilarating five-day trip to Wales, joining the table tennis team for frantic tournaments, and participating in a variety of other clubs—all while studying for my GCSEs with some of the most motivated people I've ever met.

The diverse range of GCSE options at Rokeby opened many doors for me and drew interest from a variety of sources, including Ivy League admissions officers. Achieving high marks in 15 subjects—14 of them A*s—demonstrates Rokeby's exceptional educational support, which makes such accomplishments possible Rokeby's emphasis on the five values can be seen not only in the curriculum, but also in the faculty and student body. In retrospect, Rokeby was more of a socialinclusive learning environment than an academic memory, allowing me to grow as life."

Hamed Latif has been accepted to the Sutton Trust US Programme, a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore what studying in the US is like. It will give a taste of what it's like being an international student in the US. It's a fully-funded programme so all costs (including travel, residential events, accommodation and food) are covered.

Work Experience 2024

51 students from Rokeby School took part in Work Experience in the first week of the Easter holidays. Students had a variety of placements which included working in a hotel, cafe, doctor’s surgery, garage, library, McDonalds, Tesco, solicitors, pharmacy and even the IFS Cable car. This is a great addition to student CVs and college applications.

Y7 Visit to the Financial Conduct Authority

On Wednesday 24th April 2024, 28 Y7 students visited the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) in Stratford as part of their Inspiring Futures programme.

Students worked with colleagues from the FCA and explored how to behave in a work environment and the importance of effective budgeting.

One student said; “The trip was really good, it helped me understand how people in a business do their work”

Let's Dive into our Cyber Adventure

Last week our Y8 students joined a virtual journey with the Cyber Explorer Organisation! They got to learn all about cyber security and how it impacts our every day lives - from understanding the sneaky cyber threats to seeing real examples of security problems that every face.

Students also discovered a wealth of opportunities available in the field of cyber security, with over 50 diverse and growing career paths available! Excitingly, our ambitious students learned that if they wish to pursue this path, they can even claim a bursary for professional training in the near future

They also had the opportunity to play cyber games that put their skills to the test.

Our Young Writers

Young Writers aim to inspire young children everywhere to become confident and passionate writers. Students channel their creativity by writing a poem. We are delighted that Rujan Nafi in Y10K was chosen for publication in a book showcasing young adult's work, called “Through their Eyes - A Glimpse Beyond”.
