IMPROVEMENTS

The generosity of those who contribute to Saints Fund provides us with brilliant opportunities to grow our school. Improving Notre Dame Prep and keeping it a safe place for our students is of utmost importance. Since our school is also a sacred space, we want to make our campus a reflection of God’s blessings. Our successful fundraising efforts last year enabled us to complete and begin many campus initiatives. Tuition revenue is critical in sustaining daily operational support for our school, while fundraising revenue supports facilities, expansion and allows us to take giant steps forward in achieving both immediate and long-term goals.

OUR LADY OF GRACE GARDEN

The crown-jewel of our campus improvement last year was the completion of Our Lady of Grace Garden donated by the Class of 2018. It is a peaceful and beautiful place for anyone in our community to go to pray and reflect. The statue was donated by the Scaramella family and is made of Carrara marble imported from Italy. Surrounded by flowering trees, shrubs and a fleur-de-lis rock enclosure, the Our Lady of Grace Garden made a beautiful backdrop for displaying the pottery our students created for the Fine Arts Festival last spring. Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted of the Diocese of Phoenix visited and blessed the garden in a special ceremony on April 30.

NEW BELL AND ALERT SYSTEM

This year we replaced our outdated bell system and its 90s-grade speakers for a state-of-the art system complete with synchronized clocks, high-quality sound and the capability to sound an alert with directions in the extremely rare chance of a major emergency. The new system also allows for two-way communication between the administration and individual classrooms.

CHAPEL BEAUTIFICATION

Our Chapel was updated to enhance the experience of Mass and to move the tabernacle to the center behind the altar reminding us that Christ should always be at the center of our lives. The aging holy water font was relocated on campus and replaced with wall-mounted fonts bedecked with our Kairos logo to make it even more meaningful to our students. The altar was elevated, and the block wall behind the altar was refinished and painted to give the space a more reverent feel.

THE NEW WEBSITE

Last year we underwent a total website redesign replacing our old website with one that is more dynamic and user-friendly. We hope you visit it frequently at www.ndpsaints.org. The site features many new photo galleries and sections for prospective, current and alumni students and families.

COMPLETION OF BATTING FACILITIES AND CAMPUS SECURITY PROJECTS

In 2018-19, we completed two major projects: the new batting facility for our baseball and softball teams and updated security for our entire campus. We installed 60 exterior and interior cameras for high quality surveillance, enhanced the front entry security and purchased a LobbyGuard kiosk to better track visitors on campus.

ADVANCING OUR CATHOLIC MISSION: VISION 2030

During the 2018-19 academic year, NDP engaged the entire community in strategic planning. Together we articulated and prioritized goals to advance our Catholic mission and, ultimately, established Vision 2030. This vision represents our collective aspirations for our students and accounts for the ever-changing educational landscape.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, NDP is poised to begin construction of the St. Catherine of Bologna Performing Arts Center in the Fall of 2019. This facility will have a tremendous impact on the entire student experience at NDP and provide the following opportunities:

“Be careful always to do good.”
