This chapter, "Climate Change and Indigenous Peoples’ Health in Canada", produced by the National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health, is part of Health Canada’s Climate Change and Health Innovation Bureau’s 2022 national assessment on the "Health of Canadians in a Changing Climate: Advancing our Knowledge for Action". This Indigenous-focused chapter seeks to understand how First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples and communities are uniquely experiencing, responding and adapting to climate change. It highlights the interconnected and far-reaching impacts of climate change on the health and well-being of Indigenous Peoples in Canada from coast, to coast, to coast.
