Our Mission
The Hemophilia Alliance works to ensure member Hemophilia Treatment Centers have the expertise, resources and public support to sustain their integrated clinical and pharmacy services for individuals with bleeding and clotting disorders.
Since 1948, the foundation has supported the inherited blood and bleeding disorders community through research, education, and advocacy.
The National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF), formerly the National Hemophilia Foundation, is dedicated to finding cures for inheritable blood and bleeding disorders through research, education, and advocacy. Founded in 1948 by Robert and Betty Jane Henry, parents of a child with hemophilia, the organization has expanded to serve people with all bleeding disorders, including hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, and platelet disorders. With 52 chapters nationwide, NBDF has funded over $22 million in research, supports families, and advocates for healthcare access, continuing the Henry’s mission of bringing the community together to drive change.

I am honored to be recognized by the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation this year at the Red Tie Soiree. I have been involved with the bleeding disorders Community for over 25 years and see the difference the chapters (shout out to my local chapter Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation) make in families lives. I have been honored to serve on the GLHF and NBDF Board of Directors with some amazing people who care deeply about the Community. Most importantly, I have seen the dedication of the chapters' and national staff in making a difference in health care, advocacy and education for the Community.
