Never Love Again* Many years ago, in a town far, far away there lived a woman named Ariana. She was beautiful with her fair skin and golden blonde hair. She was loved by a man by the name of Charles. The two of them lived happily together for many years. The two of them never left each other’s side. One day something horrible happened. Ariana became ill and sick in bed, but Charles knew she wouldn’t be dead. How could she be dead with their love being so strong? He stayed by her side until he finally knew it was the end. The two of them knew they had to say one final goodbye. Ariana knew she was going to die. Charles knew he would never love again. He sat in his den and picked up his pen. He began writing his final love letter to Ariana. He thanked her for all the time they had in the town far, far away. At the bottom of the letter it was signed “Until we meet again.” He had to learn to live his life without the love of his life, Ariana. After he wrote the letter, she was dead and never got better. He was with her nevermore. She was buried in a beautiful tomb in a cemetery near their town. Charles would go to her tomb to drop a rose petal every day. This reminded her of his never ending love. This tradition continued until the day he died. He did this even into his old age because he never forgot Ariana. Ariana was his everything. He never loved again, but the death of his love didn’t stop him from loving her. Kate Belling *Inspired by the writings of Edgar Allan Poe
