I am the foundation, the bottom class, the fooled farmer. I am the Mexican that is called beaner or Juan. I am the immigrant that came to find a better life. I am the victim of injustice and colonization, the child Stripped of her identity. Trying to live as an immigrant on a land That was built by immigrants. I am a product of what America is now. Arcelia Cruz *Inspired by Langston Hughes’ poem, “Let America be America Again”
