A journey through the Middle Ages

‚Dem Ritter auf der Spur‘ experience museum

Who knows the weight of the equipment knights had to carry? And what exertions, dangers and new experiences did they glean during their crusades? See, hear and feel –the experience museum the Middle Ages can be enjoyed using all your senses. The 14 themed rooms weave together the story of Heinrich the Knight and Maria, with the history of the Roman roads and the salt roads, as well as pilgrims, crusaders, alchemists and stately homes and castles. Attention children – get yourselves Knight Rüdiger’s museum puzzle hunt! Anyone who solves the tricky puzzles, will be rewarded with a certificate and appointed a damsel or a noble knight.

‚The search for the magic Ehrenberg sword‘

Your adventure on the hiking trail leading up to Ehrenberg Castle Ruins

Collect your treasure hunt book and head out in search of the magical Ehrenberg sword. The exciting and edu cational puzzle hunt takes you on the hiking trail from the castle snug – past the hornwork and highline179 –up to Ehrenberg Castle Ruins. Piece together the treasure map and seize the sword. Did you discover the name of the owner? Your ‘reward’ awaits in the visitor centre once you provide the correct answer.

‚The search for the White Light Magician‘

Your adventure in the hornwork, between the lift station and highline179 suspension bridge

Equipped with your treasure hunt book, the adventure tour takes you through the hornwork at Ehrenberg Castle Ruins and the somewhat creepy legendary dungeon. Waiting for you at the end is the White Light Magician. Head to the visitor centre and say his name to get your reward.

Winter stroll to Lake Alpsee

This romantic winter-stroll takes you from the ”Gutshof zum Schluxen“ in Pinswang via the ”Fürstenstraße“ to Lake Alpsee. There, a dreamy view to the royal castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau awaits you and your guide will give you an interesting insight into the life of the fairy-tale King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

Lantern march

This march in the dark takes us up to the Ehrenberg ruins on the well-trodden path, lit up only by the warm shine of the lanterns.

The wonderful views of the snow-covered basin of Reutte and a mug of mulled wine in the Falkenturm turret makes us forget the cold!

An adventure for little ones

Nature playgroup

Explore nature, entirely without walls & doors – for infants and young children accompanied by an adult. Experience the woodland, meadows & rivers with all your senses, whatever the weather; enjoy crafts and learn in a fun manner – no walls, no limitations. Songs, poems, games, experiments and exploration awaits all ages here, surrounded by pure nature.

Tyrol Lech Nature Park

Animal track hike

Snow-covered forests, frozen water and glittering snowy stars make for a magical peaceful atmosphere in the winter.

At this time of year, nature seems sleepy, numb and withdrawn. How do the animals get through the win ter? Which animals are active and which sleep through the cold season?

Go together with a natural park guide on the animals’ tracks.

From the Alps to the Andes

Alpaca & llama walk

Delve into the world of alpacas and llamas, find out useful knowledge about these small camels and stroke their soft wool. Feed the animals out of your hand and experience our alpacas and llamas at close range. Then after a short introduction, we set off on a leisurely walk up & down the mountain together.

Duration: approx. 1 1/2 hours (approx. 30 min. walk with a break)

Outdoor experience – no WC on-site!

NB: children under the age of 6 cannot guide the animals but can be part of the experience; children between the ages of 6-9 must guide the animals with an adult; and from the age of 10, they can guide the animals alone. Umbrellas are not permitted in the event of snowfall/rain. The experience will be cancelled in stormy weather. Dogs cannot be brought along.

Tour of the Grünes Haus Museum

Nights at the museum

The stately museum in the centre of Reutte was built in the 16th century by a wealthy citizen as a residential building. It was in private ownership until it was bought by the market town of Reutte in 1986 and became opened as a museum after extensive restora tion works. During a visit at an unusual hour get to know the eventful history of the market of Reutte and its inhabitants. In a fun tour you will find out interest ing facts and entertaining details about the famous Via Claudia Augusta roman road, the heyday of the salt trade and the life and achievements of many famous personalities from Reutte.

In the Grünes Haus

Museum visit

The museum in the Green House is located in Reutte’s Untermarkt. The strong shade of green gives the house its name. The wonderful facade was designed in 1779 by Johann Jakob Zeiller. Awaiting you inside are beautiful murals and 13 stuccoed ceilings. The museum has been proud winner of the Tyrolean Museum Prize three times along with the Austrian Museum Quality Seal.

Over around 300 m2 of exhibition space you will find a varied and lovingly presented collection. You can see valuable paintings from the painter‘s workshop of the Zeiller artist family. Well worth seeing are the works of Anna Stainer-Knittel, better known as Geierwally. Visit our clock display and the original-style tavern and discover archaeological finds from our region. The impressive Rodfuhrtafeln tell about the historic heyday of the salt trade in Reutte.

Wonderful winter scenery

Snowshoe hike

A very special experience is the snowshoe hike through the wonderful snow-covered winter scenery. The trail leads from the Karlift lower terminus across the Kälberangerle meadow to the upper terminus and back.

Second option: From Mühl via Urisee Lake and Möslesteig path to Pflach and back to Mühl.

Walking time: approx. 3 – 4 hours, basic level of fitness is required!

Wonderful views into the valley

Winter hike

Depending on snow conditions we start on the snow shoes or leave them behind and hike to one of the most scenic viewpoints of our basin – the Costaries Chapel – and back to Frauensee lake, where a cosy mountain hut beckons to stop off. It is especially the great variety of landscapes and view of the mountains as well as alpine foothills that promise lasting holiday memories for our guests to take home.

Bavarian curling

Put your aiming skills to the test when enjoying Bavarian curling in the Breitenwang ice rink.

Teams are formed and take each other on in goodnatured competition. The aim is to get your own stocks into the best possible position and to push the opponents’ stocks out of the field – fun and thrills are guaranteed in any event!

Along the Lech river

Torch-lit walk I

A torch-lit walk along the wintry wild river Lech every Wednesday evening. Illuminated only by the gentle glow of the torches, this walk begins at the church in Lechaschau from where your mountain hiking guide will lead you in direction of Hinterbichl, across the pedestrian bridge and on the opposite banks of the Lech back to the starting point past the “Lüss”.

Enjoy the peacefulness of the winter scenery at night and be enchanted!

Music workshop for holiday guests

The Styrian harmonica is the most famous musical in strument in the Alps and is simply part of a holiday in Tyrol. Whether in an alpine hut, around the campfire, at a cozy dinner or at a party – the special sound of the Styrian harmonica is always appropriate and delights young and old with heart-warming folk music. Why not feel like a Hubert von Goisern or Andreas Gabalier for once? With this unique music-making work shop, this is now possible for you as a holiday guest!

Easy Snowshoe hike

Never walked on snowshoes? Give it a try, you‘ll love it! Wearing a headlamp and snowshoes, this easy hike leads along the Waldrasthang hillside with wonderful views of wintry Reutte and the well-lit fortifications.

Alternative: Lantern-lit hike trough the dreamy Sintwag woods.

Taster biathlon session

With the taster biathlon, you can gain initial insight into this fascinating and very complex sport. This sport is sure to captivate. Feel the excitement when the starting shots are fired. The combination of a racing pulse and precision are what make this sport so unique. Here the air is buzzing with excitement until the final shot is fired. You can also discover this with our laser guns. Whether with cross-country skiing or snow shoe walks – the choice is yours!

‘Thriller’ Escape the Room

At the literary Escape the Room, everything revolves around the genre of the ‘thriller’. A detective instinct is required here to ‘escape’ from the library again. Various hints lead to books and answers and a code – your key out of the library.

Tracking down the past

A tour of the historic market in Reutte

Join us for an entertaining and amusing walk through historic Reutte where the salt trade formed the basis for the livelihoods of lots of people. Get to know the ev er-changing history of the town and its population and discover beautiful facades created by the local Zeiller family of artists.

The tour leads from the Ehrenberg Fortress through the mystical Klausen forest up to the Higher Castle with wonderful views of the basin. Second (easier) option: From the fortress via the Gürte to the Karlift and back.

Aktiv Card-holders and those who have a booking con firmation from their accommodation provider can use this service. It is not available for day tourists.

How do I register for an event?

Registration is done either via your host, or you can register yourself via the telephone numbers provided for the respective event in the programme.

The earlier you register the better.

Should you not be able to take part please cancel with the respective event organiser!
