CREARTUM - MEDELLÍN’S CULTURAL LIGHTHOUSE
Comuna El Poblado - Medellín
The intervention in a cultural Equipment for children and youth in Medellín is essential to strengthen the social fabric and provide opportunities for holistic development in a city that has found in culture a driving force for transformation These types of spaces allow children and young people to access educational, artistic, and recreational experiences that promote critical thinking, creativity, and community engagement, steering them away from contexts of violence and vulnerability
Furthermore, it encourages the appropriation of public space and a sense of belonging, enhancing their role as agents of change in building a more inclusive, equitable, and culturally rich Medellín
Placing the Equipment in a central and equidistant location in Medellín is essential to ensure its accessibility and maximize its impact on the community A strategic location that connects with the mountain and residential areas allows the city to integrate with its natural surroundings, offering users a space that combines culture, recreation, and interaction with the environment A central point facilitates access from different neighborhoods, promoting inclusion and the meeting of diverse social realities
An integrated Equipment that combines the culture of the arts and the culture of virtuality is key to attracting and connecting the youth and children of Medellín with the tools of the future, while strengthening their cultural roots This type of space would allow the coexistence of music, dance, theater, and visual arts workshops alongside advanced technology areas such as virtual reality labs, digital editing, and programming, creating a creative ecosystem where traditional and digital expressions complement each other In an era dominated by technology, it is vital for young people to find in these spaces a bridge between their interest in the digital world and the development of artistic and social skills, fostering collaborative learning, innovation, and the discovery of new forms of expression
Facade
Innovative structural strategies and the use of the latest technology will turn this Equipment into a true cultural beacon for Medellín, a reference that inspires both the city and the region Incorporating sustainable, modular, and adaptable architectural designs will allow the creation of functional and attractive spaces that respond to the changing needs of young people and children Additionally, the implementation of cutting-edge technologies such as augmented reality, artificial intelligence, immersive spaces, and collaborative digital platforms will facilitate interactive experiences that transcend physical and cultural barriers
These innovations will not only enhance the appeal of the place but also position it as a pioneering center for promoting creativity, innovation, and digital inclusion By becoming a technological and cultural hub, the facility will attract talent, encourage the exchange of ideas, and strengthen Medellín’s identity as a city committed to youth and the future, while preserving and celebrating its cultural richness

Student Housing Project
The project aims to achieve urban integration that transforms a city block into a key point along Bogotá's Seventh Avenue Focused on the students who frequent this area of the city, this project has led to urban revitalization that significantly improves the quality of life and mobility in the area The Seventh Avenue is one of Bogotá's busiest and most iconic roadways, connecting various parts of the city Amidst this constant flow of people lies the Hippies Park, an urban landmark steeped in history and cultural events Furthermore, in close proximity to this park is a branch of La Salle University, attracting hundreds of students in search of knowledge and enriching experiences

Facade
The project included several key features First, a pedestrian pathway with green areas was designed, allowing students and residents to walk comfortably between the park and the university In the heart of the city block, a center for activities was also created, which would host a wide variety of businesses From cafes and restaurants to bookstores and small local enterprises, this space became a vibrant and attractive meeting point for both those who wanted to stay and those just passing through
Axonometry
In this context, the creation of a residential building integrated with a public space proposal that combines coworking facilities with different types of apartments represents an innovative response to the changing demands of the student population This project not only acknowledges the importance of student diversity but also promotes a collaborative and flexible learning environment For younger and more active students, shared apartments or compact studios can be an ideal option These spaces provide a social and cost-effective environment that encourages interaction with fellow students In addition to the diversity in apartment types, the inclusion of coworking spaces within the residential building adds significant value These shared workspaces provide an conducive environment for collaboration and joint learning
CASA FAMILIAR
Rural Housing Project
The project aims to redefine the concept of housing on the island Tierrabomba in Cartagena It represents a model of progressive sustainable housing that adapts to its surroundings, local culture, the changing needs of the families who inhabit it The design w inspired by the architectural richness of the Colombian Caribbe creating a space that seeks to blend tradition and modern sustainability and flexibility, and comfort with adaptability

It was observed that traditional homes are characterized by open spaces, cross ventilation, and a strong connection to outdoor living These features influenced the circulation layout around the important spaces of the house, promoting privacy in areas like bedrooms and encouraging interaction in common areas The design of the residence includes 'skins' or envelopes that allow the passage of air, thereby regulating indoor temperature and minimizing the need for cooling systems

TREE HOUSE
Urban Equipment Project
The goal was to create a space that would transform an area considered a 'non-place' in the Tunjuelito community, taking into account the various physical and cultural challenges present in the environment As a result, a Child Development and Education Center was established, designed to serve the children residing in the area, providing them with a high-quality environment for their early education
The equipment planning was centered around the children in the locality who lacked a suitable and dignified space for their development and education
According to data provided by DANE, many of these children chose to work at an early age due to the lack of opportunities, and in most cases, due to insufficient resources to support their families, they were forced to engage in illegal activities as a source of income Additionally, some of them fell into harmful behavior patterns

MUNTÚ
Refugee Center Project
"Muntú" is an African philosophy that we associate with the preexistence of the workplace, which boasts natural wealth, an unfinished construction, and a community on the verge of rising within the site Moreover, "Muntú" explains the importance of community and how each person is a vital element, and their union forms even stronger energies This Refugee Center, which hosts people from different cultures hailing from distant places, proposes courtyards with different vocations, respecting the existing trees that articulate the entire program One vital force expresses the area of greater privacy: the bedrooms The central vital force is an outdoor presentation And the last vital force is embraced by classrooms that open up to it
In terms of materiality, we propose easily replicable modules with sustainable construction methods through straightforward development techniques that incorporate bioclimatic and atmospheric protection These systems, such as elevated flooring, high ceilings, sunshades for light and rain protection, louvers that facilitate cross-ventilation, and bamboo mats on the roof to capture hot air, are designed to enhance environmental performance
PASEO JOVITA AL RIO
Calle Quinta - Urbanism Project
The renovation of Calle Quinta in Cali, from the Jovita statue to the river, is a proposal aimed at transforming this stretch into an enriching urban space for both vehicles and pedestrians The central idea is to create a unique and distinctive street that highlights the connection with the surrounding mountains and blends natural elements with Cali's rich culture This proposal is based on creating different moments along the street, tailored to the specific characteristics of each section, encouraging community engagement Quinta Street will be divided into sections, each with its own personality and design, inspired by the particular vocations of that segment This will allow pedestrians to enjoy varied experiences as they traverse the street
Throughout Fifth Street, cultural elements will be integrated that highlight the richness of Cali culture, such as murals, sculptures and references to music and dance In addition, regular cultural events will be promoted on the street, such as live music and dance exhibitions
Nature will also play a fundamental role in the renewal Native trees will be planted, gardens will be created and aquatic elements will be incorporated to improve the quality of public space and provide areas of shade and coolness
SANCTUARY HOUSE
Senior Housing Project
This project was based on the observation of several key aspects of the location, with the intention of creating a replicable model in other similar communities Based on this, guidelines were developed that function as a roadmap for the successful implementation of joint housing projects in rural areas, while maintaining their proximity to the urban center of La Vega This comprehensive approach has shown that the balance between environmental preservation, community inclusion, and access to essential services is essential for successful development in these settings Factors such as topography, bioclimatology, and proximity are recognized as essential for the integral development of the project carried out

The choice of the term "sanctuary" emphasizes that these homes should be much more than a physical place and more spiritual The decision regarding the main user is based on the growing trend of migration of older adults to rural environments
The use of the Barthel Index in the design of these homes ensures that the basic needs of the residents are met, promoting their autonomy and quality of life at this crucial stage That is why the space becomes a safe and functional place for the comfort of the people who will live there

CirculationsProposal
The modularity of the housing design allows families to decide and customize the size and layout of their living space
In addition, it prevents the need for costly renovations, as the spaces can be adapted over time This flexibility not only provides comfort but also the ability to anticipate changing needs and live in a more efficient and comfortable way
Sustainability is a fundamental pillar in this housing competition
The choice of materials with a low carbon footprint, locally accessible, and easy to build, not only benefits the environment but also simplifies people's lives This intelligent selection of materials not only reduces costs but also decreases the need for resource transportation, thus contributing to energy and economic savings
Water and energy conservation have also been a priority, as efficient strategies have been incorporated into the design to ensure that the homes are self-sustaining This not only reduces the ecological footprint but also gives families the peace of mind of not having to worry about utility costs
LIVING RIBBON
Student Housing and Heritage Project
What features and spaces should the campus of the future offer ? How should the campus relate to a valuable and unique context and landscape? All off this while keeping bioclmiatic confort and reducing carbon footprint in all stages
Considering the qualities of the natural landscape and the existing architecture, the answer proposes an integrative project that accompanies all the inhabitants and users who enjoy and live on the campus Therefore, based on areas related to the landscape and existing landmarks, a ribbon is wrapped around, this ties and proposes a fluid route throughout the entire campus This ribbon develops in the public space and as new residential building With this, we aim to design a comprehensive and complete development for the university, which can be executed progressively and serve as a reference for how a university projects itself into the future
In conclusion, we propose a project that brings together the different variables and spaces, comprehensively conveying the university's future vision and the possibility of living in it, generating fluid and continuous spaces that foster collaboration, inclusion, and freedom
