ENVIRONMENTAL MINDFULNESS GUIDE FOR TEACHERS
ETWINNING PROJECT

INTRODUCTION
Over the past two decades, mindfulness meditation has received increasing attention in academia and various fields of practice. More recently, it has also been introduced into environmental and sustainability education (ESE) settings This study offers a first exploratory investigation of learner experiences with consumption-specific mindfulness training Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 25 training participants. Data analysis was undertaken applying a pluralistic qualitative methods approach Our results draw an ambivalent picture On the one hand, we found that mindfulness training can connect individuals with inner states and processes that are also relevant to their consumer behavior, thus providing valuable impulses for ESE On the other hand, however, these generic learning outcomes do not easily translate to consumptive acts. One explanation for this is that mindfulness practice can sometimes serve as a self-confirmation process that reinforces prevailing values, expectations, and intentions This indicates important challenges mindfulness practice poses in ESE ( https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/00958964.2021.1966352 ). Mindfulness is considered to involve the intentional regulation of attention with an attitude of non-judgment, openness, curiosity, and acceptance of one’s current experience GLOBAL PROJECT "ENVIRONMENTAL MINDFULNESS"
Mindfulness activities are a great way to reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance overall wellbeing. Some popular mindfulness activities include meditation, deep breathing exercises, yoga, mindful walking, journaling, and body scan exercises These activities can help you stay present in the moment, cultivate self-awareness, and promote a sense of calm and relaxation Remember to take time for yourself and incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily routine for a more balanced and peaceful life
The connection between the environment and mindfulness is a powerful one. Mindfulness involves being fully present and aware of our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings in the present moment When we practice mindfulness in nature or in an environment that is in harmony with the natural world, we can deepen our connection to the Earth and cultivate a sense of peace and interconnectedness
Spending time in nature can be a powerful way to practice mindfulness, as it allows us to tune into the sights, sounds, and sensations of the natural world This can help us feel more grounded, reduce stress, and foster a sense of gratitude for the beauty and abundance of the Earth. By being mindful of our impact on the environment and taking steps to protect and preserve it, we can also cultivate a deeper sense of connection and responsibility towards the planet Incorporating mindfulness practices into our daily lives can help us develop a greater appreciation for the environment, inspire us to live more sustainably, and foster a sense of interconnectedness with all living beings By nurturing this connection between mindfulness and the environment, we can work towards creating a more harmonious and sustainable world for ourselves and future generations.

From April to May 2024
We continue to communicate on FB and created a Messenger group to be in contact every moment.
Also, we communicated on Twin Space using forums Meetings of participants were organized on the Zoom platform every time we had suggestions for the new activities We created our avatars and it was a fun activity for teachers:
At the beginning of the project, we created a flexible plan and every partner could adapt and choose activities. The first pages were : Our schools, Our cities, Our countries and School calendar
On the first meeting, etwinning ambassador Nataša Vrapčević held webinar for less experienced teachers and also shared link on public net and invited other interested teachers
The first activity with children were drawing logo proposals and teachers uploaded logos in a special tool where all children could vote for the best one.
PLAY ONLINE
Partners prepared and uploaded links for various fun didactic activities in accordance with the project theme : JigSaw Puzzle, Learning Apps, Worldwall…

EXPERT IN THE PROJECT
“Dječji vrtić” from Rijeka obtained expert’s webinar for all participants Psychologist Darko S. and colleague Ivana presented us expert’s understanding of mindfulness and shared with us interesting samples of mindfulness activities for preschool children
DISSEMINATION
We had many disseminations in every partner country: On TV, in newspapers, on various blogs, on info channels, on our web sites. We had parent’s meetings where we presented the project activities, actives of teachers, presentations for other classrooms in our preschool institutions and schools, on Euridycs Conference on 27th June 2024.
The project was very interesting for children because it is based on moving outside, all activities are based on play method.
All of us collaborated and communicated in the project , shared tasks, gave many ideas of activities and learned a lot from each other. We are eager to continue to work on etwinning together in some future project because we are a great team with big potential. This project has impact not only to children but for parents and teachers too. It was challenging theme but we enjoyed in exploring and experimenting and during the project we felt positive atmosphere, all of us were ready to help others, to share knowledge and damoles of good practice.
