Search Page Section


RedDoorz mobile App (1.9.7 Version) just updated its Search Page on July, 2022. Therefore, this research conducted to get the review on the current design by understanding the user’s experience towards each section on thepage.
■ To understand user’s perception of every sectioninthesearchpage.
■ To deep user’s motivation on using the searchpage.
■ Togetadeeperunderstandingoftheuser’s experience throughout the current search pagesection.
■ To figure out user's expectations against thesearchpagesection.

Scenario1 :
Anda sedang mendatangi acara di (lokasi user saat interview), tetapi karena tidak dapat kereta untuk pulang anda memutuskan untuk tinggal semalam di daerah tersebut. Karena hal ini diluar dugaan, anda hanya ingin mengeluarkan biaya tidak lebih dari 100.000. Penginapan seperti apa yang akan anda cari berdasarkan skenariodiatas?Bagaimanakalianmelakukanpencarianpenginapandalamaplikasiini?
Scenario2:
Anda dan rekan anda akan melakukan business trip ke Yogyakarta dan berencana untuk menginap di daerah TuguYogyapadatanggal29-20Juli2022dengantipekamaryangmemilikiservicebreakfast.Bagaimanauser melakukanpencarianpenginapandalamaplikasiinidenganrequirementsdiatas?
Scenario3 :
Anda adalah seorang backpacker yang berencana untuk berlibur di Bandung selama 2 hari. Tetapi kalian belum memutuskan tanggal berapa untuk pergi, namun yang pasti masih dalam range seminggu kedepan. Anda ingin survey dan mencari penginapan di daerah tersebut sehingga memaksimalkan fitur search page yang ada di aplikasi untuk memperoleh harga yang affordable. Bagaimana user melakukan pencarian penginapandalamaplikasiinidenganrequirementsdiatas?

All of the users don’t know about the latest update on the Search Page SectionoftheApps.
User motivation on using the search page sections to fulfill their necessity (locations,price,facility).
They feel their needs have been met at this point.
Userstendto maximizetheuseoffeaturesonthe top displayinthesearchpagetoaccommodatetheir needs in finding a place to stay. Therefore,mostoftheusershavealreadyfulfilledtheir goals and needs at the beginning without scrolling down the page any further. They also rely more on the filter features that lie on the next stage of the journey after passing the search page.
UsersfeelwhatispresentedonthisSearchpageis too much and a bit less irrelevant to be categorized into a “Search”. Also, it feels less affective to find some repetitive information but they'rejustonlypackedintoadifferentsectionwith the same purpose.
In addition, by it's design appearance, users feel that the displayed is quite good. In terms of the overall color display, they’re just in the right proportion.Fontscanbereadclearly,sothatitdoes notcauseanydifficulties inreadingthepresented information.
They feel their needs have been met at this point.
Just like the previous section, users tendtomaximizetheuseoffeatureson the top display in the search page to accommodate their needs in finding a placetostay.
Users think the pages sections are a little simpler than before. Although, there are still some features that display a repeated information. The most important thing here is that the user cannot change the date preference, it's very crucial because the user cannotmakeaplanahead.
Users think the the idea of the searching bar as an eye of the page.

Usersthinkthatsomesectionsshouldbe above the others. Harusnya recommended yang di bawah, dan yanginidibawahsearchhistory,karenamempermudah pengguna yang revisit aplikasi ini.”
Promobecomesanumpteenthoptionby the user. They tend to see the promo availability once they got the chosen hotel.Also,theyprefertorelyonthefilter features to get that.

Users feel that the recommendations based on the prices given are just too random. Also, the information provided deviatesfromwhatitshouldbeaccording to the section title.

Users think that this feature is not that important to deserve a space in this sectionpage.Also,theytendtouserthe filter features to get this service.

The microcopy seems has a different meaningbytheuser.
The section sometimes disappeared.

Users feel that this section is not in line with user needs in order to find hotel accommodation. Also, the content presented is irrelevanttotheexistenceoftheapplicationasa hotel accommodation service provider.

All users think this feature is an alternative payment like E-Wallet whereuserscansimplydoingthetop upbalance.Meanwhile, it'sactuallya virtual currency obtained as loyalty points.
They also think this section is unnecessary since it already has a space elsewhere.
Users think it’s irrelevant to put this featureonsearchpages.

Mostoftheuserssaidtherearesomeofirrelevantsections that doesn’t belong to the “searching” terms. One of the alternative could be removing the irrelevant ones. From the findings above, one of the possibility is to remove the list property,propertywithbreakfast,referand earnsections fromthepage.
If it’s still remain to be the search page title, then remove the irrelevant items

Iftheideaistokeeptheallsectionsatall,oneofthepossiblealternativeis changetheSearchPageTitleintoamoregeneralterms,like HomePage (or else). Also, the hierarchy of the sections could be arrange based on the categorial function.

Make a “Back to the top” and “More” button.
To tell the users there’s another information below and could persuade to the users to scrolling downthepage.
Make a clear intention and relevant content
Don’t makesomethingout ofstandard.
The description said that you should select your duration but in fact user cannot change the date. Beuseful.
