less than R48 million, and 666 players received payments. All statutory payments, such as tax, have been made on your behalf, and records of such payments can be accessed on the MyPlayers app.
If you have any questions about your games, appearances, payment or taxes, please contact Isma-Eel Dollie on ismaeel@my-players.com or +27 84 484 4412.
Word is out, and it makes for unputdownable reading. In 2019, MyPlayers conducted a survey among South Africa’s professional rugby players. Many of our members had requested the Players’ Organisation to compile a strong, collective “player voice” on topics affecting the rugby industry locally and abroad. “VOICE 2019, The definitive survey of rugby players in South Africa” report was released to the public early in February this
year, and it is available on the MyPlayers app as well. In it, you will read how players feel about mental health in professional rugby and personal development beyond the game, what some players think about sleep while travelling, and where others see room for improvement in competition structures. Download the PDF, read it and share it to anyone you think might be interested. Sharing is caring!
DON’T WORRY. BE APPY. Nearly all professional players have downloaded and registered on the free MyPlayers app. But not all of you… In the future, more and more communication and even commercial payments will be managed through the app. So don’t be
left behind. Download your MyPlayers Rugby app for iOS or Android, jump through the registration hoops, allow push notifications, and voila! Once the bar at the bottom of the Home screen turns green, you are good to go.

H G U O N E N A M # In 2020, the MyPlayers Player Development Managers (PDMs) will host #ManEnough evenings at their franchises. The Cheetahs were up first. In February, players were asked to challenge a culture in which “traditional masculinity” holds that “cowboys don’t cry”. Players were encouraged to be more authentic and

honest with themselves and others about matters that influence their personal lives and performance as professional athletes. They’ll also follow a year-long curriculum covering various topics. And off course, wine is served at the #ManEnough sessions, because in vino veritas (in the wine, there is truth). Cheers!
