who we are MyPlayers is the organisation that represents the collective interests of all the professional rugby players in South Africa.

The organisation was founded by the players in 1998 and is fully owned by them. The players form part of the various leadership structures that exist within the organisation and are responsible for determining the general direction and strategy of the players’ organisation.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

COMMERCIAL Securitise the collective intellectual property rights of all the players through the Players’ Trust.

Assist the players with their core financial services requirements such as: The rugby players’ pension fund Bespoke player injury cover Short-term insurance solutions Medical aid and gap cover

Ensure necessary valuations are performed on the players’ rights to determine the fair market value thereof.

Manage the process by which these rights are made available to the industry.

Manage the process by which the players are remunerated for the use of their collective intellectual property rights.

Develop various licensing products for the players by utilising the players’ collective intellectual property rights.

INDUSTRIAL &

PLAYER AFFAIRS Manage all the collective employment matters of the players such as their: Disciplinary matters Working hours

DEVELOPMENT Take care of the holistic development of the players and prepare them for life outside of rugby.

Provide the players with access to a 24/7 mental well-being hotline.

Run our own MyPlayers bursary programme for the players.

Equip the players with workplace readiness skills.

Educate the players about the different vulnerabilities they might encounter and teach them the necessary life skills to succeed in life outside of rugby.

Provide the players with career and education support.

THE

PLAYERS’ CHARITY

In 2013 the players launched their own Players’ Charity with the purpose of annually giving back to charitable organisations and to make a difference within the lives of others.

Each year the players donate more than R400 000 to charity.
