natural form separated by three walls whose openings become increasingly more organic and disuniform until reaching the stairs leading up to the overlooking rooftop.

It is the continuation of the natural environment through a built enclosure that acts as one. It is an encouragement away from massive waste-streams and towards a future where moderation is abundance.

Integrating the functions of a playground with the structure itself, this exploratory space is designed to encourage play; both in the community and the light that enters it. purpose rather, it is meant to reinvigorate wonder and experimentation. As the sun rises and

when it sets, the light enters the space through the two main openings. The angle at which the light hits the walls encourages it to curve along with the structure creating cohesion between light and enclosure. The overarching ceiling shades the space from the harsh mid-day sun while still allowing indirect lighting to illuminate the space.

This building study looks at the Novotny Cabin, a local residential project nestled in nature on the San Juan Islands, designed and constructed by Miller Hull.

This project mainly focuses on technical drawing techniques and conventions. Lineweights were a large focus to convey perspective and depth. And it was an introduction into isometric drawings.

PURITY IN DEATH THE DAKHMA: A PRECEDENT STUDY ARCH 201

In the quiet outskirts of town, raised 25 feet above, the Dakhma stands. Solid, tall, and unmoving.

By its lonesome, it’s surrounded only by the texture of the terrain and is enveloped by silence.

Across the horizon, overlooking its walls, the urban center is restless.

But the Dakhma sits removed to protect the living from the demons of the dead.

Generations are laid upon its round stone bed for disposal according to the Zoroastrian rite.

Within its threshold lay the corpses of the children, women, and men exposed to the elements, animals that scavenge, and the

birds that prey. irregular droplets, then by the liters. Hitting the surface of the stone platform, it ripples through the gratings on which the bodies are arranged. With the movement of the currents, bones now persistent sun, are encouraged into the central pit below. The Dakhma now empty to start anew as death takes a new wave.

The ritual embodies the sense of purity and separation, therecorpse must not suffer contact

Brand/Product photography is a hobby-turned-business that started during the lockdown phase of the pandemic. I worked with multiple small businesses in the local Seattle area and delivered marketing photos that were taken in a spare bedroom in my house.

RE - FRIDGE REDESIGNING THE REFRIGEATOR ENTRE 490

As a part of the Lavin Entrepreneurship program 2021 cohort, a problem space within an industry and developing a solution.

We noticed a huge problem with food waste in the agricultural industries. Seeing that over 40% of the food we produce is never eaten, we sought to redesign the one appliance meant to prolong food life, yet is the biggest cause

of household waste: the refrigerator. Access and visibility were the two main components lacking in the traditional refrigerator. The design proposed optimizes sliders that bring food to the forefront.

Thus preventing food from being stacked and forgotten in the back of refrigerators where they would eventually be thrown out.

Shelving is split into a 3:1 ratio for inner shelves and door storage, respectively. Having deeper and more storage on the doors means food can at most, a double layer.

Hinged arm is extended when the door is open, pulling the inner shelf out along with it providing access to the back of the fridge

The second compartment features an outward sliding door, open on both sides, ideally for leftovers and urgent foods.

WOODWORK STUDY OF THE KALAMAR CHAIR PERSONAL WORK

This was a personal project completed during the summer of 2021 in order to hone and practice my woodworking and also my sewing

digital tools to plan out the cut list and dimensions.

The chair is based on the design of the Kalmar chair. It is constructed using oak boards and

pine dowels. The legs are were reused from a broken side table and the cushion covers are made from a second-hand curtain panel. Oak is a hardwood that is popular for furniture because of its durable qualities. However, because of this, it prevented some challenges that required a lot of trial and error.

Using SketchUp and its rendering extension, Vray, I was able to reon listing photos. It allowed me to reimagine a space with respect for what it once was and the culture that this home is a part of.
