Music Network 2023 Autumn Touring Season
Find us at a venue near you
As we savour the last days of summer, it’s time to look forward in anticipation to Autumn and a whole new season of musical possibilities.
So far this year we’ve worked with 26 partners and venues to bring live music to 18 counties through our National Touring Programme. We’ve provided 10 artist residencies together with our partners, commissioned 7 new works by Irish composers and placed musical instruments in the hands of approximately 5,000 musicians, both amateur and professional, through our Music Capital Scheme.
We’re planning to finish the year as strongly as we started with an incredible line-up of musicians for you to enjoy this season. So, whether you are drawn to exhilarating contemporary sounds, transcendent jazz or the elegance of early music, I hope you’ll find a concert you love at a venue near you.
We would like to express our gratitude to our principal funder The Arts Council, to our Friends and supporters, our network of partners and everyone who has attended or participated in a Music Network concert or programme this year. Your support helps us continue to bring affordable, exceptional quality live music to Irish venues, enables our musicians to develop sustainable and fulfilling careers, and provides opportunities for performance and participation in communities across the country.
I hope you enjoy this fresh new season of music, and to see you at a Music Network event very soon.

by Jennifer Walshe
On tour 19 – 26 September
Dublin, Kildare, Limerick, Cork & Mayo
An extraordinary multi-media show by the amazing force of nature that is vocalist, improviser and composer
Jennifer Walshe.
Imagine a place where a phone tower is planted next to a holy well, where Facebook employees at the Clonee data centre tend beehives in a nod to medieval monks, and where the hexagonal shapes of the basalt columns at the Giant’s Causeway are echoed in the solar cells of the James Webb Telescope peering into deepest space as the Leviathan once did. No need to imagine it, we are living it.
Developed by Walshe and her ensemble with the help of secondary school students from across the country, this new work draws on their experience of growing up in a world mediated by technology.
A Music Network Commission, premiered at Dublin Fringe Festival 2023.
