Music Network 2025 Spring Touring Season
Find us at a venue near you
This Spring we’re delighted to share high octane folk and traditional music, captivating classical performances and endlessly inventive jazz with you. Our new season brings together some of the most extraordinary talent both here in Ireland and internationally, in celebration of the power of live music to connect artists and audiences.
In 2024 we collaborated with 24 partners and venues to deliver live music to 20 counties through our National Touring Programme. We also presented 7 new commissions by Irish composers and provided access to musical instruments for almost 8,000 people through our Music Capital Scheme. Our many programmes underscore our commitment to making high quality live music accessible to communities throughout Ireland, helping musicians to develop fulfilling careers and fostering creativity and participation at every level of music-making.
We are especially proud of the new initiatives we’ve introduced in the past year, among them our first residency specifically for a professional musician with Autism, delivered in partnership with St. John’s Theatre and Arts Centre in Listowel. We also launched the Music Network National Instrument Collection, a transformative resource providing exceptional emerging classical players with access to world class instruments to support their artistic and career ambitions. This collection is a vital investment in Ireland’s musical future, and one we are eager to expand in the years ahead.
In 2026 we will celebrate Music Network’s 40th anniversary, and reflect on the impact we’ve made over four decades. Since our foundation by the Arts Council in 1986, we have continued to bring concerts to every corner of Ireland and beyond, and to evolve and expand our programmes. In 1995, we commissioned our first
new work by an Irish composer, and looking back today, we’ve commissioned 108 Irish and Ireland-based composers, resulting in 92 new works and over 850 minutes of original music.
In 2011 we launched Music Generation, The National Music Education Programme, after running a decade-long campaign for equal access to music education for every child in Ireland. Today, Music Generation delivers over 490,000 hours of tuition, creating 100,000 opportunities for our children and young people, every year.
As we step into 2025, we are thrilled to continue to bring you the very best of live music in a season brimming with exceptional artistry. Whether your heart beats faster at the soaring beauty of classical music, the improvisational spirit of jazz, or the soulful resonance of traditional and folk music, we are confident you’ll find a Music Network concert to inspire and delight.
We extend our gratitude to The Arts Council, our Friends and supporters, and everyone who has attended or participated in a Music Network event. Your support enables us to continue to bring exceptional, affordable live music to communities across the country, foster sustainable careers for musicians and create opportunities for all to connect through music.
I hope you enjoy this new season of music, and look forward to welcoming you to a Music Network event very soon.
