Das ging ja mal fix: Wir sind doch eigentlich nur über zwei, drei Äcker gehoppelt und haben dann noch ein paar Sojawürste auf den Rost gehauen- und als wir wieder zurück in die Redaktion kommen, ist im Kalender doch tatsächlich schon Mitte Juni angesagt!? Aber zumindest haben wir von unseren Freiluftaktionen einen ganzen Haufen Inspiration mitgebracht und präsentieren so nun endlich eine extra luftig- sonnige mushroom Ausgabe! Passend zur Open Air Saison gib es ein neues Fashion Special, für das wir uns diesmal sogar gewissermaßen ans Ende der Welt begeben haben… Nicht ganz so weit, aber immerhin bis an die Grenzen Europas, reicht unser internationaler Szenereport, in dem wir das lokale Geschehen unserer globalen Szene beleuchten. Wow, that went rapid: We just cruised two or three festival acres and had some little BBQs afterwards- and when we returned to the editorial, the calendar claimed it to be middle of June already!? But at least we brought heaps of inspiration from our outdoor excursions and so we finally present you an extra- sunny edition of mushroom magazine! Life takes place outside during the upcoming months and matching this season, we have a new Fashion Special for which we even went to the end of the world in a way… Our international scene report does not reach that far but still to the frontiers of summery Europe to throw light on what’s going on locally in our global scene. Psy TravellING in Europe AN INTERNATIONAL JOURNEY ON SEARCH FOR THE TRANCE VIBE

Obwohl unsere Szene für ihre Internationalität und besonders jetzt im Sommer auch ihre Reisefreudigkeit bekannt ist, so gilt doch auch in der Welt des Psy Trance das alte Sprichwort: Andere Länder, andere Sitten! In diesem Sinne trifft man unterwegs immer wieder auf Überraschungen, mal auf sehr angenehme, manchmal aber auch auf eher unangenehme. Wie sieht es aus, innerhalb unserer globalen Szene: Was ist lokal gerade angesagt? Ein sommerlicher Kurztrip durch Europa.

Rein zahlenmäßig kann Deutschland punkten: Nirgends tummeln sich die Freiluftvergnügungen so dicht wie entlang des berühmten Goa Highway 24, wie dir wahrscheinlich auch auf der Festival Map in unserer letzten Ausgabe aufgefallen ist. Ein unverkennbarer Beweis dafür, dass hier immer noch ein Hotspot der Szene liegt. In Deutschland hat alles seine Ordnung, die Beats laufen sauber und gerade und genauso gerade sind die Gassen des Festivalcampings gezogen, zumindest bis Samstagabend. Aber auch auf den Straßen herrscht Ordnung, die aufmerksam von der Polizei kontrolliert wird. Und die Jungs haben immer häufiger die bizarre Neigung, einem beim Pinkeln zugucken zu wollen…

Wir richten den Blick doch lieber nach oben, auf der Karte genauer gesagt, und schauen uns an, was die Szene in Dänemark so treibt. Das Land ist bekannt für seine hervorragenden Progressive Produzenten und das Publikum nicht nur für diese Spielart, sondern auch für technoide Sounds sehr empfänglich. Wer zum ersten Mal in Dänemark feiern geht, könnte leicht bis mittelschwer über die recht sportlichen Preise staunen: Für eine Partynacht werden nicht selten 45 – 50 Euro verlangt und wer häufiger zum tanken an der Theke andockt, sollte ausreichend flüssig sein! Allerdings darf nicht unerwähnt bleiben, dass man in Gegenzug mit hohen Qualitätsstandards und einer einmalig ausgelassenen Feiermentalität ent-

lohnt wird und jetzt im Sommer gibt es zudem zahlreiche gute Umsonst & Draußen Veranstaltungen. Noch weiter nach Norden? Aber gerne doch, da hätten wir zum Beispiel… Finnland, das nicht erst seit gestern durch eine ganz eigene Sound-Schule von sich reden macht, die gemeinhin als Suomi beschrieben und von mir mit dem Prädikat „wirklich heftig abgefahren“ versehen wird. Zu hören gibt es Suomi auf angenehm untergründigen Open Airs, passender Weise in den mystischen, tiefen Wäldern des Landes. Im Morgennebel kann es dort allerdings etwas frisch werden und daher wenden wir uns nun wieder gen Süden. Die Niederlande können nicht nur durch ihre aufgeschlossene, heitre Mentalität -die übrigens tatsächlich unabhängig von ihrer relativ liberalen Drogenpolitik ist- sondern auch mit einer wirklich feisten Trancegemeinde überzeugen. In diesem Zusammenhang darf die Hausbesetzerszene nicht unerwähnt bleiben, denn sie brachte Trance in den Niederlanden wirklich voran und immer noch finden viele gute Partys in die-

sem ausgesprochen sympathischen Milieu statt. Dort dauern sie oft auch etwas länger, denn ansonsten ist in Holland gesetzmäßig recht früh Schluss in den Clubs und Bars. In Frankreich gab es in jüngster Vergangenheit leider vermehrt Stress mit den Behörden, so wurden einige große Festivals beinahe oder auch tatsächlich abgesagt. Wer sich nicht zum sponsorenfinanzierten Mainstream- Event bekennt, wird schikaniert, so scheint es leider. Aber die nach wie vor starke Szene lässt sich ihren Mut nicht nehmen: So hat das im letzten Jahr abgesagte Hadra Festival in diesem eine neue Location und findet erfreulicherweise statt! Besonders spektakuläre Locations, besonders für Flachländer, hat die Schweiz mit ihrer atemberaubenden Berg- und Naturkulisse zu bieten. Ein Festival auf einer sommerlichen Alpenwiese zählt sicher zu den Partyerlebnissen der ganz besonderen Art! Und die berühmte Schweizer Präzision und Qualität spiegelt sich auch in den Veranstaltungen und der Musik wieder. Auch das Nachbarland Österreich steht dem in nichts nach! Hier

mag man es musikalisch gerne herzhaft bis kräftig, besonders in Wien und Tirol ist eine starke Dark Psy Szene anzutreffen. Bemerkenswert ist außerdem, dass Psy Trance auch seinen festen Platz auf großen, gemischtmusikalischen Veranstaltungen hat. Noch so viele Länder, aber nur so wenige Zeilen übrig! Daher empfehle ich einen Blick in den diesjährigen Psychedelic Traveller, den alljährlichen, umfassenden und internationalen Szene Report.

Psy Traveller 2010 Im letzten Jahr setzte der Psychedelic Traveller die Reise dort fort, wo der Trancers Guide to the Galaxy zuvor die Segel gestrichen hatte. Nun allerdings sieht sich das Leidenschaftsprojekt selbst mit den Widrigkeiten der Medienkrise konfrontiert und so entschied man sich kurzerhand, Liese einen neuen Weg einzuschlagen. Natürlich wird es auch in diesem Jahr einen Psychedelic Traveller geben, und zwar ohne Werbung! Zum einen steht das gesamte Heft als PDF- Download zur freien Verfügung, darüber hinaus können großformatige Poster, auf deren Rückseite sich auch die Länderinfos finden, über die Webseite geordert werden. Eigentlich ist diese Webseite auch keine Webseite, sondern ein offenes Wiki, was den auf die Förderung der Gemeinschaft abzielenden Ansatz des Projekts deutlich erkennen lässt. Und auch für die zugehörige Compilation wird ein neuer Vertriebsweg beschritten: In Zusammenarbeit mit Sunstation Records wird sie nun nämlich zum freien Download angeboten - schlicht und einfach der Liebe zur Trance Szene wegen! www.psychedelic-traveller.net

Though our scene is popular for its internationality and especially now in summer also for its passion for travelling around, still the old saying is also valid in the world of Psy Trance: Other countries, other customs. And therefore there are surprises again and again when travelling around, sometimes very pleasant ones but then again also rather unpleasant ones. So what’s up in our global scene, what happens locally? A summery short trip through Europe.

Seen in terms of numbers, Germany scores pretty well: As you might have realized on our Summer Festival Map in the last issue, there are nowhere so many open airs piling up like along that famous Goa Highway 24 in North-East Germany. An unmistakable indicator for this country still being one of the hotspots of the scene. In Germany, everything has its order. The beats go straight and so do the alleys of the camping areas at festivals, at least before Saturday night. But also the streets are ruled by order, by law and order. So there are frequently controls by the police and these dudes more and more often show the bizarre inclination to want to watch you pissing... We rather look upwards, on the map of Europe to be more precise. Let’s have a look what’s going on in the scene of Denmark! Well, this country is really popular for its excellent Progressive producers and not only this style but also technoid influences are appreciated at parties pretty much. Who is celebrating in Denmark for the first time, might be knocked off his or her heels by the pretty high prices: Not seldom a one-night party costs 45 – 50 Euro and whoever is used to refuel frequently at the bar should not be short of the ready, neither. But it also has to be mentioned that in turn there are really

Even more to the North? Sure, lets go! To Finland, for instance. Here there is the home of a very special school of sound that has become known as Suomi and that is rated by me to be “really wicked and twisted”. Suomi can be heard at pleasantly underground festivals that take place in the deep and mystical forests of the country, which again delivers kind of perfect scenery. Only when the morning fog gathers between the trunks it can get a little chilly. So let’s head back South again! The Netherlands not only represent an open-minded, cheerful mentality, which is in fact independent from their relatively liberal drug policy, by the way. Also their Trance scene is simply great. In this respect also the squat house scene has to be mentioned for it really pushed Trance forward since the mid- nineties. And still there are lots of very good parties in this very likable environment. Here they often also last longer than in clubs and bars, where there is a pretty early closing time due to legal restrictions.

Legal restrictions… seems like unfortunately there is some trouble going on in France. Many big festivals faced serious complications with the authorities and almost or really had to cancel. Who does not turn into a sponsored mainstream event does not have an easy business obviously. But nevertheless the scene keeps brave: For example Hadra festival, that was cancelled last year, will take place in 2010 on a new venue! Very spectacular venues can be found in Switzerland, especially for those coming from the lowland the mountain and nature scenery is simply breathtaking. A festival on a summery alpine meadow is certainly a unique party experience! And the famous Swiss precision and quality is also reflected in the events and the music. The neighbouring country Austria is equal in every way. Here powerful and twisted sounds are pretty popular, Vienna and Tyrol represent a strong Dark Psy scene. It is also remarkable that Psy Trance is featured at big, mixed-music events here frequently. Damn, so many countries left but only so few lines. Therefore I advise you to take a look at the recent Psychedelic Traveller – the annual, extensive and international scene report! Roberdo

Psy Traveller 2010 Last year the Psychedelic Traveller continued the journey where Trancers Guide to the Galaxy had given in before. But now the passionate project encounters the adversities of the media crisis itself, in consequence it was decided to break new grounds. Of course there will be a Psychedelic Traveller also this year, even without any adverts! On the one hand the magazine is available as free PDF download, furthermore large-format posters including all the country articles on their backsides can be ordered via the website. Actually this website is not a website but an open Wiki which matches the approach of the project that strives to strengthen the global community. PSY TRAVELLING IN

Wenn hier gerade schon vom sommerlichen Treiben in Europa die Rede war, so darf auch das spanische Ibiza nicht unerwähnt bleiben. Im balearischen Aussteiger- und Partyparadies tut sich nämlich auch in Punkto Psy Trance wieder so einiges! Da wären zunächst einmal die vielen kleinen aber feinen Open Air Partys, von denen man am besten Samstags auf den Hippiemärkten in Las Dalias oder Sant Jordi erfährt- insbesondere letzterer ist ohnehin einen Besuch wert! In Las Dalias steigen wiederum immer mittwochs die Namaste Partys und jeden Samstag findet dort neuerdings der bisher aus dem Ruhrge-

biet bekannte Luna Club statt! Die Trommelsessions am Strand von Benirras sollte man sich auf jeden Fall auch einmal ansehen, Mitmachen erwünscht! Spätestens hier lernt man dann auch Leute kennen, die einem von den zahllosen anderen tollen Sehens- und Feierwürdigkeiten der Insel berichten. When talking about the summery hustle and bustle in Europe, also the Spanish Ibiza may not remain unmentioned. Concerning Trance, there is quite something going on again in the Balearic dropout and party paradise!

Las Dalias

There are lots of small but great open air parties around in the country, you get to know about them best on Saturday at the classical hippie markets in Las Dalias or Sant Jordi. The latter is worth visiting anyway! In Las Dalias you will also find some proper music every Wednesday at the Namaste parties and recently also on Saturdays at an event already well known from Germany, the Luna Club. The drum sessions at the beach of Benirras should not be missed neither, participating is desired! Plusquam Records Wie kaum ein anderes Label repräsentiert Plusquam Records das enorme kreative Potential und stilistische Klangspektrum, das sich hinter Progressive Trance verbirgt: Ursprünglich von Antaro als experimenteller Ableger seiner legendären Spirit Zone gegründet, finden sich auf den ersten Vinyls aus dem Jahre 2000 verspielt- experimentelle Techno Sounds von ganz eigener Gangart. Drei Jahre später übernahm Laureth das Ruder und lenkte das nunmehr eigenständige Unternehmen in trancelastigere Gefilde, seinen sanften Kurswechsel markiert die Compilation „Revive“, die bis heute die Herzen vieler Progressive Liebhaber höher schlagen lässt.

Seit 2008 segelt das traditionsreiche Label unter dem Kommando von Thomas Vitali, der vielen von euch mit seinem Projekt Sunstryk ein Begriff sein dürfte. Gerade neulich stellte er mit seiner Compilation „Royal Flush 2“ einmal mehr unter Beweis, dass mit ihm ein würdiger Nachfolger gefunden wurde, der die ambitionierte Erkundung der progressiven Soundsphären fortsetzt. In diesem Sinne ist wohl auch der Titel des Sunstryk Debütalbums „Pure Essence“ zu verstehen, das im Juli in die Läden kommt. Weitere spannende Ankündigungen für das laufende Jahr sind die Debütalben des Griechen Alchemix und des Mexikaners Saeg sowie eine Ace Ventura Remix CD. Und schließlich knüpft Plusquam auch dort an, wo es selbst seinen Anfang nahm: Mit der Gründung der Sublabels Rococo und Future Lovers wurden zwei Plattformen für elektronische Experimente in Richtung neuer, hybrider Stilrichtungen geschaffen. Protoculture Seine langjährige Erfahrung am klassischen Klavier, seine Studien der Musiktheorie und natürlich auch seine Ausbildung als Tontechniker mögen so einiges erklären. Und doch haben die Produktionen des Südafrikaners Nate Raubenheimer jenes einzigartige Moment, lauscht man ihnen, schleicht sich gar das Wort „magisch“ auf die Zunge. Von daher überaus spannende Neuigkeiten, dass nun ein brandneues Protoculture Album bei NANO Records in den Startlöchern steht: Love Technology. Nate zum Konzept seines neusten Werkes, dessen Vollendung ihn fast 2 Jahre gekostet hat: „Ich wollte zu meinen `älteren´ Melodien zurückkommen, so wie in einigen Titeln von meinem ersten Album, Refractions. Aber gleichzeitig wollte ich auf diesem Album auch ein Spektrum verschiedener Stilrichtungen ausprobieren. Die Titel reichen von Progressive bis Full On, von 130 bis hinauf zu 140 BPM“. Eine Zeitreise zurück deutet sich mit einem Song namens „1998“ an. Die dazugehörige Originalversion von Binary Finary dürfte wohl jedem bekannt sein, ein absoluter Trance Klassiker (obgleich ihn wohl mancher dem „kommerziellen“ Trance zuordnen wird). Für Nate war es ein ganz besonderes Vergnügen, das Teil zu remixen, denn es ist einer seiner lieb-

sten Tanztitel überhaupt. Paradise Festival Th 01. - Su 04.07. • Falkenstein / Austria Da hat sich jemand Gedanken gemacht: Für das Paradise Festival im niederösterreichischen Falkenstein wurde nicht nur eine spektakuläre Veranstaltungsörtlichkeit mit malerischer Burgruine fürs Camping und einem alten Steinbruch für den Partybereich gewählt. Nein, beides befindet sich auch noch im statistisch regenärmsten Gebiet des Landes! Zusammen mit dem überaus amtlichen Musikprogramm perfekte Vorraussetzungen für ungetrübtes Freiluftvergnügen feinster Machart also.

Ganz aktuell wurden die Auftritte von Liquid Soul, Burn In Noise, Bamboo Forest und Para Halu bestätigt, die das ohnehin schon sehr appetitliche und kurzweilige Lineup weiter anreichern. Zum Tanz aufspielen werden diese Herrschaften und ihre Kollegen inmitten einer außergewöhnlich schönen, saftig grünen und leicht hügeligen Naturkulisse- zumindest tagsüber. Auch das Festival mit dem wohl ausgefallensten Namen der laufenden Open Air Saison rückt näher und näher- gewissen Gerüchten zum trotz! In der konservativ- rechts orientierten oberbayrischen Presse gab es nämlich jüngst zwei recht bösartige Artikel, die gar den Anschein erweckten, das Kannibalen Massaker sei nunmehr verboten und fände daher nicht statt. In Wahrheit jedoch verläuft die Kommunikation mit den Behörden im Vorfeld ausgesprochen positiv. So lobte der zuständige Bürgermeister von Pfaffingen die gute Zusammenarbeit und die stetige Verbesserung des Gesamtkonzeptes. Auslöser für besagte Gerüchte war eine kleine Diskussion um den Ausschank des eignes für das Festival gebrauten naturtrüben Bio-Biers. Dieses sehr spezielle Getränk lässt ebenso wie der Name der Veranstaltung erahnen, dass es dort einige wirklich außergewöhnliche Erlebnisse zu entdecken gibt: Man kann das viele Herzblut, das hier

investiert wurde, förmlich schmecken! Ob das wohl jenes „kannibalische“ Element ist…? Also the festival with the probably most unusual name of the current open air season is drawing nearer and nearer- despite certain rumours! The conservative- right orientated press of Upper Bavaria published two pretty malicious articles namely which might have created the impression that the “Cannibal Massacre” became prohibited and therefore cancelled. Just the opposite is the case: The communication with the local authorities works out very well so far. The responsible mayor of the nearby village Pfaffingen even applauded the good collaboration and the steady improvement of the overall concept. The rumours mentioned above had been caused by a little discussion about the serving of the specially brewed, naturally cloudy bio-beer. This very special beverage as well as already the name of the festival adumbrate how much truly unusual experiences can be discovered there: You can really taste all the heart blood that has been invested! Wörtlich bedeutet Ant-Aris = gegen Krieg, und der Name ist Programm. Der Visionär Otto Lilienthal machte auf dem heute gleichnamigen Flugplatz in Stölln einst die ersten Flugversuche der Menschheit, heute bringt dort eine psychedelische Party der Spitzenklasse die Gäste in höheren Sphären zum Fliegen. Kein Wunder, denn das internationale Lineup garantiert auf zwei fantastisch dekorierten Dancefloors in erster Linie wieder delikaten Progressive Trance, garniert mit Full-On, Oldschool und Electro. BeatPatrol Festival Fr 23. - Su 25.07. • St. Pölten • Austria Patrouillieren kann man wirklich ganz hervorragend auf dem weitläufigen Gelände des VAZ St. Pölten, und wie der Name des Beatpatrol Festivals erahnen lässt, gibt es dabei in insgesamt 8 Bereichen unter freiem Himmel sowie drinnen mindestens 8 spannende elektronische Musikwelten zu entdecken.

Das Programm des Trance Floors lässt sich dabei als herzhaft-kräftig und durchweg psychedelisch beschreiben, Namen wie Penta, Space Tribe oder Talamasca sprechen in dieser Hinsicht wohl für sich selbst. Und für jene, die gerne auch mal Abwechslung in anderen Soundsphären suchen, bietet das Beatpatrol schier unbegrenzte Möglichkeiten. Bemerkenswert für ein Festival ist außerdem die Infrastruktur der Location, Toiletten mit Wasserspülung sind hier nur ein besonders luxuriöses Beispiel. Ozora Festival Tu 03.08. - Su 08.08. • Ozora • Hungary Kein anderes Trance Festival hat in den letzten Jahren einen derart kometenhaften Aufstieg in Punkto Popularität verzeichnet wie die Ozora: Von gerade mal 700 Teilnehmern im Jahre 2004 wuchs sie exponentiell zu einer der beliebtesten Freiluftvergnügungen unserer Szene, die im vergangenen Jahr rund 15.000 Besucher zählte. Garantiert kennst auch Du jemanden, der dort war oder vielleicht warst Du auch persönlich dabei und weißt daher: Jeder, der von diesem Open Air zurückkam, war begeistert! Aber was genau macht das nach dem Nachbarort benannte Festival in Ungarn so speziell? Veranstalter Balasz vermutet: „Die Leute sind nicht blind: Sie sehen, dass sie Ozora nicht für den schnellen Profit abgehalten wird, sondern aus Liebe für die Szene. Da wir in einem armen Land veranstalten, ist unser Budget limitiert und wir müssen einfach kreativer sein und genau das gefällt den Leuten. Sie sehen, wie viel Aufwand betrieben wurde um ihnen eine Freude zu bereiten. Für uns sind sie der wichtigste Teil des Festivals überhaupt!“ In der Tat sind viele Besucher von der extrem liebevollen Gestaltung des Open Airs begeistert, die sich in tausend kleinen Details äußert. Ein anderer Grund mag der grundsätzliche Ansatz der Ozora sein: Sie konzentriert sich nämlich ausdrücklich nur auf die Psychedelic Trance Kultur und strebt keine Fusion mit anderen Szenen an. So wird in diesem Jahr zum Beispiel erstmals der Magic Garden seine Tore öffnen und Gelegtheit für spirituelle Erfahrungen bieten. Und auch das spektakuläre Musikprogramm folgt dem Motto: For all Psychedelic Pleasures!

Hardly any Trance festival experienced such a meteoric rise like Ozora did during the past decade: From a familiar gathering of only 700 freaks in 2004 it grew exponentially to one of the most popular open airs of our scene, attracting around 15.000 visitors last year. For sure you know somebody who went there or perhaps you have been there yourself- and so you know that everybody who returned from this festival was really enthusiastic about it!

Boom Festival Wed 18. - Th 26.08. • Idanha-a-Nova Lake • Portugal Wie du vermutlich schon mitbekommen hast, ist die Boom in diesem Jahr vor Ort umgezogen und das nicht ohne eine Reihe guter Gründe: So bietet die neue Location z.B. mehr Schatten und ist wesentlich ebener, ein enormer Vorteil fürs Camping. Und auch der wohl größte Schwachpunkt wird mit der neuen Lokalität angegangen: Die grenzwertig langen Wartezeiten vor dem Eingang. In diesem Jahr stehen mehr Zufahrtstraßen zur Verfügung und das Team klügelt fleißig ein neues Verkehrskonzept aus. Trotzdem wird empfohlen, erst am 18.08. anzukommen- an diesem Datum öffnen sich die Tore und es ist extra für die Anreise gedacht, das Programm startet einen Tag später. Zu den neusten Erweiterungen des bo(o)mbastischen Angebots zählen ein Kurzfilmfestival sowie die Fusion von Theater und Liminal Village in der neuen „Drop Area“. Auf der umfangreichen, aufwändig gestalteten Webseite des Festivals kann man schnell die Zeit vergessen und findet ständig neue Informationen und Hintergrundgeschichten. In 60 Länder wurden bereits Tickets verkauft und es geht weiter: Gewissen Gerüchten zum trotz war die Boom beim Redaktionsschluss nämlich nicht ausverkauft, noch sind also Eintrittskarten zu ergattern!

Ja, tatsächlich- kuck dir jene fließende Form dort noch mal ganz genau an… So wunderbar psychedelisch vertwistet hat den Namen unseres Heftchens der 25-jährige Portugiese André Maia, auch bekannt als meskalART.

Yes, its truehave a very close look at that floating form again… The name of our little magazine has been psychedelically twisted in such a wonderful way by 25-year old André Maia from beautiful Portugal, also known as meskalART.

Mit Erfahrungen im Graffiti Bereich, einer tiefen Leidenschaft für Psychedelische Kunst und einer Mediengestalterausbildung im Rücken bezieht der junge Mann seine Inspirationen aus sehr vielfältigen Quellen doch auch der Alltag ist für ihn voller spannender Details, die entdeckt werden wollen. Dementsprechend interessant sind seine Arbeiten: Als freiberuflicher Grafikdesigner ist er in der Trance Szene kein unbeschriebenes Blatt und zeichnet sich für zahlreiche Flyer- und Covergestaltungen verantwortlich. Wenn André übrigens mal merkt, dass er einen schlechten Tag hat und nicht weiterkommt, versucht er trotzdem, kleine Details zu verbessern oder etwas Neues zu lernen, um keine Zeit zu verschwenden.

All these “party projects” have in common that they pursue an acceptance- orientated approach. So they don’t urge you to be completely abstinent with a wagging finger but rather want to educate you into the direction of responsible, mature consumption. They also try to optimize the famous set and setting, the environmental conditions, to reduce the risk that emerges from consumption anyway. A perfect example for this kind of philosophy is the “Safer Sniff” campaign: Instead of advising not to consume anything at all, small sheets of paper are distributed so that those who not are averse to certain powders can roll their own snout and won’t infect themselves with transmissible diseases via the mucous membrane of their noses. Beside objective and recent information about drugs and their consumption, the information stands mostly offer a lot of useful, harm-reducing gimmicks, from a simple glass of water to ear protection to gratis condoms.
