Open Air !!! Endlich ist es soweit: Die Tage werden immer länger, die Klamotten immer kürzer und durch das erste Grün der Bäume streicht eine milde Frühlingsbrise. So spaßig eine Nacht im Club manchmal sein mag, jetzt beginnt die Jahreszeit, für die unsere Szene eigentlich lebt: Willkommen in der Open Air Saison!

Leider müssen wir euch die versprochene Vorstellung der Gewinner unseres Mushroom Producer Contest noch ein bisschen länger schuldig bleiben. Die Auswertung der vielen Einsendungen und der noch viel zahlreicheren Votings für diese stellt uns vor eine Aufgabe, die wir noch nicht vollständig geschafft haben. So wird es die Ergebnisse in Kürze zunächst auf mushroom-online.com geben, im nächsten Heft dann endlich in gedruckter Form.

Festival Umfrage Festival Survey 2009 Was macht eigentlich ein richtig gutes Open Air aus? Eine schwierige Frage, zumindest kommen viele Faktoren zusammen. Wir haben das etwas genauer unter die Lupe genommen und Euch in unserer großen Sommerumfrage gebeten, uns zu erzählen was Ihr von einem gelungenen Festival erwartet. An dieser Stelle ganz herzlichen Dank an die vielen Teilnehmer und Teilnehmerinnen, die uns unterstützt haben! Hier nun also die aktuellen Trends der Freiluftsaison 2009. An Auswahl mangelt es uns ja wahrlich nicht in den kommenden Monaten, was Open Airs angeht. Da steht man geradezu vor der Qual der Wahl. Was sind die Gründe, weshalb sich Fraggels entschließen, ein Open Air zu besuchen? Gute 70% geben an, ein ansprechendes musikalisches Line-up sei ein entscheidendes Argument für den Festivalbesuch. Da es allerdings nicht so viel Spaß macht, alleine zu feiern, ist es für gut die Hälfte ebenfalls sehr wichtig, dass möglichst viele Freunde und Bekannte dabei sind. Und man kann es sich schönreden oder -trinken wie man will: Klasse Musik, tolle Gestaltung und nette Leute kombiniert mit Regen und Kälte sind nicht das, was wir vom Partysommer erwarten. Deshalb gab auch etwa jeder zweite an, gutes Wetter sei ein sehr wichtiger Faktor. Der Eintritt ist für nur jeden Dritten ein Thema, gleiches gilt für das Vorhandensein von Urlaub. Der Trend des Sommers 2009 sind eher kleine Festivals! Und zwar nicht nur aus gewissen wirtschaft-
lichen Zwängen heraus, sondern vielmehr ist dies auch der Wunsch der Besucher. Diese Tatsache war für mich bei der Auswertung der Daten die spannendste: Ungefähr die Hälfte finden Veranstaltungen mit mehr als 1000 Besuchern, die jedoch immer noch überschaubar sind, optimal. Und ein weiteres Viertel gab sogar an, es klein und familiär zu bevorzugen. Nach unserer Umfrage steht nur etwa jeder Vierte auf richtig große Events. So schön es auch sein mag, die Wahl zwischen etlichen Floors mit Erdbeben simulierenden Soundsystems zu haben - Großevents bedeuten aber gleichzeitig eine gewisse Anonymität und die Chance, Leute wieder zu treffen sinkt deutlich. Der Trend zum eher Familiären spiegelt sich auch in der Meinung bezüglich der Anzahl von Dancefloors: Nur eine Minderheit wünscht sich mehr als zwei auf den Festivals. So viele sollten es aber für etwa zwei Drittel schon sein, und zwar aufgrund der musikalischen Abwechslung. Es ist ja nicht wirklich neu, dass der Oberbegriff Trance mittlerweile eine

How long should a festival run ? Wie lang sollte ein Festival dauern ? ganz schön große Bandbreite aus verschiedenen Stilen abdeckt, die teilweise miteinander fast nichts mehr gemeinsam haben. Mehr als die Hälfte wünscht diese Vielfalt auch ausdrücklich. Und auch verschiedene Genres neben Trance gewinnen zunehmend an Popularität: Jeweils etwa ein Drittel wünscht sich mehr Techno, Minimal, Reggae und Dub, aber auch Live Konzerte und mehr Chill Out Musik sind stark gefragt. Ein kleines Detail offenbart eine recht interessante Entwicklung der Szene: Zum Thema Fleisch auf Festivals sagt fast die Hälfte »ja«, nur ein Viertel ist dagegen und der gleichen Menge ist es schlichtweg egal. Hier zeigt sich tatsächlich eine Veränderung des oft erwähnten „Spirit“, der ursprünglich meist mit Vegetarismus verbunden war. Und war es noch vor einigen Jahren relativ normal, sich ein Wochenende mal so richtig dreckig zu machen, so legt heute die Hälfte der Festivalbesucher großen Wert auf das Vorhandensein
von Duschen. Auch hier zeigt sich eine gewisse Veränderung im Lifestyle der Szene. Wachsender Beliebtheit erfreuen sich übrigens auch Workshops, Vorträge und sonstige Angebote, die eine willkommene Abwechslung zum Trubel auf neue der Tanzfläche bieten und Erfahrungen und spirituelle Bildung ermöglichen. Ich hoffe, Eure Erwartungen bezüglich der Festivals werden diesen Sommer möglichst oft erfüllt und wünsche Euch ganz viel Spaß auf unseren geliebten Erwachsenenspielplätzen!

What is it that makes a really good open air party? A tricky question, at least there are various factors included. We examined this topic very carefully and asked you in our big summer survey to tell us what you expect from a great festival. At this point thanks a lot to all those who contributed and supported us! So here we go with
the current trends of the open air season 2009. Concerning the amount of festivals its everything but a lack of variety that expects us during the coming months. So you are really spoilt for choice. What are the reasons that make fraggels go to a festival? Around 70% say that an amazing musical line-up is a major argument to attend an event. But because it’s not so funny to celebrate on your own, it’s also very important for

half of the participants to have lots of good friends and mates with them. And finally you can whitewash it as much as you want: Great music, nice ambience and cool people combined with rain and coldness is definitely not what we expect from our festival summer. And so every second person states that good weather is a very important factor to attend an event. The entry fee is only important for every third person and so is the existence of holidays. The trend for summer 2009 is rather small festivals! And that not only because of certain economic forces but also from what visitors wish from a party. This fact was the most exciting one for me when evaluating the survey: About half of the participants prefer events that have more then 1000 visitors but are still manageable in terms of size. Another quarter regards it to be optimal for a festival if it is both small and familiar. So referring to our survey only every fourth person likes really huge events. On the one hand

for sure it is amazing to wander around between lots of floors with earthquake simulating sound systems. But big events also mean a certain anonymity and the chance to meet your friends again is decreasing there. The trend for rather familiar events is also reflected in the opinion on the amount of dance floors: Just a minority wants to have more than two on a festival. But it should be two for 66% of the participants to guarantee musical variety. Its not really news that Trance nowadays subsumes quite a huge bandwidth of different styles that sometimes do not have anything in common with each other any more. More than half of our participants explicitly appreciate this diversity. And also various genres beside Trance gain popularity within the scene: About one third wishes to hear more Techno, Minimal, Reggae and Dub but also live concerts and more Chill Out music are in strong demand.
● I don‘t care (31%) A small detail reveals an interesting development of the scene: Concerning the question of meat at parties, every second person says ‚yes‘, only every fourth says ‚no‘ and finally the same number of people does not care about this issue. This really shows a certain change of the often mentioned “spirit”, which was originally connected with vegetarianism. And while it used to be quite normal to get really dirty during the weekend a few years ago, nowadays half of the festival visitors put emphasis on the availability of a sufficient number of showers. This also reveals a certain change in the lifestyle of our scene. Finally workshops, lectures and other activities that go beyond the scope of dancing and party are more and more popular because they mean an interesting variety and offer new experiences and spiritual education. Beat Hackers – Back To The Music In seiner frühen Jugend zierten Poster der Bands Tool und Dream Theater die Wände des Zimmers von Guy Pelet. Diese sind weniger für elektronische als vielmehr für ihre herzhafte Rockmusik bekannt, in ihren Songs schaffen sie immer wieder eine interessante Verbindung zu klassischer Musik. Dieser Einfluss ist dem Israeli Beat Hackers bis heute erhalten geblieben und spiegelt sich auch auf seinem aktuellen Album „Not For Sale“ wider. Schon sehr früh wuchs die Begeisterung für Psy Trance, jedoch war Guy Pelet auch stets der ursprünglichen, handge-
machten Musik verhaftet und spielt bis heute Schlagzeug, Gitarre und Klavier. Und das macht ein sehr spezielles Flair in seinen Produktionen aus: „Ich nehme immer ein paar echte Instrumente auf, um den Tracks etwas wirklich musikalisches zu geben und manchmal bestimmt das den gesamten Verlauf. Dadurch geht einem die Musik wirklich nahe, anstatt nur zur Bewegung zu animieren.“ Mit seinem mittlerweile dritten Album ist Beat Hackers persönlich sehr zufrieden, die langjährige Erfahrung kommt nun richtig zum Tragen. Und auch die Geburt seines Sohnes hat die Arbeit stark beeinflusst. Und so transportiert es sehr verschiedene Stimmungen: „Neben vielen heiteren und lustigen Titeln findet sich auch melancholische Tiefe. Für mich ist es das perfekte Album.“ Neben seinen zahlreichen Dancefloor Einsätzen rund um die Welt bastelt der Produzent übrigens auch am Soundtrack für einen französischen Film und an Musik für Konsolenspiele. During the early youth of Guy Pelet posters of the bands Tool and Dream Theater covered the walls of his room. These are absolutely not known for electronic dance tracks but powerful rock music with a very special connection to classical music in their songs.
This influence has accompanied Israel hailing Beat Hackers up to today and can also be heard on his recent album “Not For Sale”. Very early Guy Pelet became enthused by the Trance sound but also always kept his passion for original, hand-made music. Until today he is playing the drums, piano and guitar. And this fact adds a very special atmosphere to his productions: “I always try to create a lot of harmony through which you can feel the music inside, not just dance to it. I always record some real instruments for my tracks so they sound different and original and sometimes this makes the whole story.” Beat Hackers himself is very satisfied with his meanwhile third album, his longstanding experience got him to produce more precisely and to focus on the original idea. Addtionally the birth of his son was a great source of inspiration. “There are some happy tracks and really funny ones but you can hear the deep and sad tracks too. La Magica Boutique – Fresh from Italy Mit La Magica Boutique eröffnet in Italien dieser Tage ein neues Label für ausgefallenen und sehr ursprünglichen Psy Trance. Ich habe die beiden Gründer gefragt, was es damit auf sich hat. Schwierige Zeiten fürs Musikgeschäft - Warum habt Ihr in dieser Situation ein Label gestartet? Piero: Aus reiner Leidenschaft, es geht uns nicht um das Geld. Die erste Compilation soll ein positives Signal an die Szene senden, die gerade zusammenbricht. Wir wollen zurück zu den Wurzeln und suchen Leute wie uns. Was ist an der Trance Szene besonders? Luca: Die Trance Szene ist besonders, weil wir viel enger mit der Natur feiern als andere Stilrichtungen. Wenn wir uns darauf besinnen, können wir tatsächlich höhere Bewusstseinsebenen erreichen und so unser Leben verbessern. Es gibt nach wie vor ein sehr großes Potential! Wie ist die Szene in Italien? Wir haben ziemliche wenige Traveller und Freaks auf den Partys und leider nur einen geringen Anteil an Leuten, die nach wirklich neuen Erfahrungen suchen. Musikalisch gibt es meist eine gute Balance zwischen Dark und Full On. Progressive gibt es praktisch nicht. Im Mai kommt Eure erste Veröffentlichung „At The Source“Was können wir erwarten?
Nun, sie ist aus jahrelanger Freundschaft, Leidenschaft und spiritueller Forschung entstanden. Also sehr spezielle Musik: Ethno-Funk von Floating Grooves, feinster Retro von Tantrix und Sismic, die Bestimmtheit von Lucas & Pogo und Aphid Moon, der unergründliche Scorb, Mood Deluxe mit interessanten Breakbeat Einschlägen… und noch viel mehr! Was ist die Zukunft des Psytrance? Beide: Der Niedergang… Aber aus den Trümmern wird eine neue Szene auferstehen! With La Magica Boutique a new label comes to life in Italy these days, focussing on extraordinary and quite original Psy Trance. I asked the two founders what they have in mind with this project. Hard times for the music business - Why did you start a label in this difficult situation? Piero: Because it‘s pure passion, it‘s not for making money! The first compilation is to send a positive message to a scene that is falling into decay. We wanna go back to the source and reach people like us.
What is special about the Trance scene? Luca: It‘s special because we celebrate the connection with nature more than other music styles, our connections with equinoxes, solstices or eclipses. Remembering this could take you to a higher state of consciousness in your own life. There still is a huge potential in our scene! How is the scene in Italy? Piero: We have really few travellers and freaky people attending parties and only a low percentage of people with real interest for experiences in the gathering. Music that people like mostly is a good balance between Dark and Full On. We don‘t have any Progressive scene. In May your first compilation “At The Source” will be out. What can we expect? Luca: Well, it came from friendship, passion and years of spiritual research. Since already eight years DJ Mel and Marco Scherer are frequently responsible for some serious party going on at the dance floors of this planet: Up-to-date and funky on the one hand but always with a proper pinch of psychedelic twist and lots of Progressive pressure their sound undoubtedly aims euphoric dance floors. Now their third studio album has been released und the promising name “Spacewalk”. Quite some things happened in the technical aspect: Some exiting new sound machines have shown up inside their new studio and delivered the perfect opportunity for excessive jam sessions. And so their musical style has developed from the last album: On the one hand there still is this unique “Meller feeling” inside the tracks, on the other there have also been experiments and some of the tracks break new grounds to pretty special moods. Schaltkreis Wassermann Als im Jahre 1981 das Vinyl-Album „Psychotron“ von Schaltkreis Wassermann erschien, waren darauf zahlreiche Elemente und Ideen zu finden, die in der späteren Techno- und Popmusik zum Mainstream avancierten. Heute ist Schaltkreis wieder da als brodelnder multimedialer Live-Act mit Stella Wassermann an den Vocals und am Kaossillator, während PJ Wassermann den VG-99 GitarrenSynthesizer und die Keyboards traktiert. In der vielfältigen Musik von Schaltkreis Wassermann spiegelt sich deren langjährige Erfahrung mit elektronischer Musik. Heute als multimediales Performanceprojekt angelegt, kommt das manchmal von einem Perkussionisten verstärkte Duo besonders auf der Bühne zur Geltung: Trotz zwei Apple Laptops entsteht durch die Vocals und die live gespielten Instrumente ein echtes Band- Feeling, das Freaks aller Altersklassen begeistert. Abgerundet wird das ganze von einer ausgefeilten und hypnotischen Videoprojektion.
When the vinyl album „Psychotron“ by Schaltkreis Wassermann was released in 1981, it already included many elements and ideas that were taken up by Techno and Pop music and developed to mainstream later on. Today Schaltkreis is back again with a bubbling multimedia liveact with Stella Wassermann performing vocals and a Kaossillator while PJ Wassermann is working the VG-99 guitar synthesizer and some keyboards. The varied music of Schaltkreis Wassermann reflects their long-year experience with electronic music. Being a multimedia performance project nowadays, the duo sometimes supported by a live percussionist is shown to its advantage best on a stage: Though they use two Apple laptops for some backing sounds, the vocals and the live played instruments create an authentic band feeling which delights Trance freaks of every age. The whole show is rounded by a sophisticated and hypnotic video projection.

Sinneswandeln – Art Exhibition 12. 3. - 12. 5. 09, Storkower Str. 50, Berlin Fällt irgendwo der Name „Goa“ oder „Psy Trance“ denken die meisten nicht nur sofort an treibenden, psychedelischen Sound sondern auch an leuchtend bunt dekorierte Parties. Keine Frage: Schwarzlichtkunst ist integraler Bestandteil unserer Szene, eine Trance Party, auf der es nachts nicht aus allen Ecken magisch leuchtet, ist keine echte Trance Party. Die Ausstellung Sinneswandeln widmet sich in Berlin noch bis Mitte Mai intensiv dieser eigenständigen Kunstform und geht dabei weit über das hinaus, was wir von Veranstaltungen kennen. Mit ihrer aktuellen Ausstellung kommen die beiden Veranstalter Tobe und Ellen aka Flash To Be und Sundew bereits zum siebten Mal ihrem Traum von einem „Illusionspalast“ näher, einer festen Institution, in welcher KünstlerInnen aus aller Welt Raum finden sollen, ihre Arbeiten und Visionen zu präsentieren und sich auszutauschen. Im Team mit diesmal etwa 12 Gleichgesinnten haben sie so eine beeindruckende Sammlung dessen zusammengestellt, was mit UV-Licht aktiven Farben und Materialien alles möglich ist: Von klassischen Gemälden über Installationen und Experimente mit Bewe-
gung, Form und Lichtquellen, bis hin zu Werken, deren vollständiger Raum sich erst mit Blick durch eine 3D Brille eröffnet, findet sich eine ausgesprochen spannende Mischung verschiedenster Exponate. Und das nicht nur für den geneigten Partybesucher: Die Ausstellung eignet sich ganz wunderbar für szenefremde Menschen aller Altersklassen, die so einen Einblick in die erstaunlichen Welten der Schwarzlichtkunst bekommen. If the phrase „Goa“ or „Psy Trance“ appears somewhere, quite everybody thinks not only about pushing, psychedelic sounds but also about that brightly coloured decoration at parties. The exhibition Sinneswandel in Berlin dedicates this very special art form until end of May and goes far beyond the scope of things we know from our beloved events. With their recent exhibition the promoters Tobe and Ellen aka Flash To Be and Sundew approach their dream of an “illusion palace” already for the seventh time: A steady institution, in which artists from all around the world are able to find space to present their projects and visions and exchange with each other. Der Stil des Hamburger Felix Stöver ist unverkennbar und seit Jahren bekannt und beliebt von zahlreichen Partydekorationen, Cover- und Flyergestaltungen. Das Bild auf dem Titel dieser Ausgabe trägt den Namen „Fish Dances“ und wurde vom gleichnamigen Song von The Irresistible Force aka Mixmaster Morris inspiriert, welcher auch regelmäßig in Felix DJ Sets zu hören ist. Das Motiv der Artist Sticker Card ist dagegen eher spontan entstanden: Der Künstler wollte einen organischen Kontrast zu den eckigen Formen am linken Bildrand schaffen und so entstand die an einen Meeresbewohner erinnernde Figur. Um den exotisch-tropischen Stil noch weiter zu unterstreichen kam schließlich noch das Meer und der Palmenstrand dazu. Die Wabenartigen Linienstrukturen auf beiden Bildern stellen eine Art unsichtbare Energiearchitektur da und wurden mit Hilfe von Tesafilmstreifen erstellt, die zunächst übermalt und schließlich abgezogen werden konnten. Felix Wurzeln im Comic-Bereich sind nach wie vor zu erkennen, auch wenn diese Motive eine stilistische Weiterentwicklung bedeuteten.
The style of Hamburg’s Felix Stöver is unmistakable and well-known and popular from numerous party decorations, flyer and cover illustrations since many years. The picture on the cover of this issue carries the name “Fish Dances” and was inspired by a same called song from The Irresistible Force aka Mixmaster Morris that can be frequently heard in Felix DJ Sets. The motive on the Artist Sticker Card was created rather spontaneously: The artist wanted to create an organic contrast to the angular structures on the left side of the painting and developed the character that reminds a sea dweller. To underline the exotic-tropical style even more, Felix added the ocean surface and the palm-lined beach. The honeycomb-like line structures on both paintings represent some kind of invisible energy architecture and were created by using tape stripes which could be painted over first and be removed afterwards. On, sondern auch guten Progressive präsentiert. Apropos Progressive: Das Festival für dieses Genre, die Tshitraka, gönnt sich eine Pause und wird dieses Jahr leider nicht stattfinden. Am zweiten Juliwochenende steigt die Antaris, die als eines der ältesten Trance Festivals immer noch sehr psychedelische Akzente setzt und dieses Jahr wahrscheinlich das letzte Mal in gewohnter Größe kommt. Der Juli ist voll von guten Partys, auch die seit einigen Jahren sehr beliebte Spiritual Healing findet in diesem Monat statt. Sie hat einen neuen Termin bekommen und lädt ab dem 24. auf ihre Location am wunderschönen Badesee. Ende Juli muss man dann eine nicht ganz leichte Entscheidung treffen: Entweder zur Reloaded nach Italien, die bisher unter dem Namen Sonica lief und zu Recht dem einen oder der anderen ein Begriff sein sollte. Oder aber zum VuuV Festival nach Norddeutschland - allerdings nicht mehr nach Putlitz wie in den vergangenen Jahren, denn man hat sich zur Abwechslung mal eine neue Örtlichkeit gesucht. Der hohe Qualitätstandart und die exzellente Musik, für den diese Veranstaltung steht, bleiben jedoch unverändert. Die in den letzten Jahren sehr beliebt gewordene Spiritual Healing hat dieses Jahr einen neuen Termin bekommen und

Allein schon auf der Psy Trance Bühne tummelt sich so ziemlich alles, was derzeit Rang, Namen und damit Groove hat: Darker Druck von Penta, treibender Full On von Rinkadink, den Zen Mechanics und U-Recken oder federnder Progressive von Ace Ventura und Vibrasphere, um nur ein paar zu nennen. Im fünften Jahr des Festivals zieht dieser Bereich in ein großes Zirkuszelt, welches Gansedoline und Jamin Murphy mit ihrer Deko zu einem optischen Augenschmaus
aufwerten. Nicht nur der Trance Floor, sondern auch die übrigen Bühnen sind übrigens absolut wetterfest, ohne dass das Open Air Gefühl verloren geht. Wer einen Blick in die anderen Bereiche riskiert, wird auch dort nur das Feinste vom Feinen sichten: Seien es die ursprünglich der Psy Trance Szene entstammende Extrawelt, der elektroide Deadmau5 oder sogar die von vielen als das Urgestein des Techno schlechthin gehandelten Herren von Kraftwerk. Und nicht nur in akustischer Hinsicht stellt das Festival einen Superlativ dar:

Stylistic variety has not been rare at Trance festivals for quite some time: The fear of getting too close to other electronic genres of no concern any longer and so visitors
nowadays experience an enormous bandwidth of interesting dance music. Especially, but not exclusive for those who are not restricted in their listening habits, the ‘Eristoff Tracks Urban Art Forms festival – presented by Electronic Beats’ offers a truly bombastic experience right at the beginning of summer. The Psy Trance stage alone features quite everybody who is anybody and therefore definitely has groove: Dark pressure from Penta, pushing Full On by Rinkadink, Zen Mechanics and U-Recken or bouncy Progressive by Vibrasphere and Ace Ventura - just to name a few. With the fifth edition of the festival the Trance stage moves to a huge circus tent which will be upgraded to an eye candy in a class of its own by the decoration from Gansedoline and Jamin Murphy. Not only the Trance floor but also the other three stages are absolutely weather proof by the way, without losing the typical open air flair. Anybody risking a view at the other areas will experience only the crème de la crème also there: The dudes from Extrawelt, originally hailing from the Psy Trance scene, the electroid Deadmau5 or even the godfathers of Techno, Kraftwerk from Germany. Pünktlich zum Sommerauftakt in der Hansestadt liefern die Hamburger Beatfreakz einen spektakulären Doppelschlag: Zum traditionellen Tanz in den Mai wird stilecht in den Ballsaal geladen und zwar nicht in irgendeinen, sondern in den des FC St. Pauli. Und nach einer nur kurzen Verschnaufpause wird das lange Wochenende am 2. Mai mit einem Summer Warm Up unter freiem Himmel fortgesetzt. Die Veranstalter bewiesen schon einige Mal ein Händchen für ausgefallene Locations, wie sie zuletzt mit der Villa Schwarzenberg unter Beweis stellten. Der neue Ballsaal des FC St. Pauli bietet mitten in der Stadt gelegen jede Menge Platz zum Abdrehen auf dem geräumigen Dancefloor, gediegene Chillmöglichkeiten auf der Galerie und von der Open Air Lounge einen beeindruckenden Blick auf die Kulisse des Stadions. Musikalisch heizen dort Day.Din und Magoon ein, dessen neuste Sounds erfrischend progressiv sind. Unterstützt werden sie von den Lokalmatadoren Feuerhake, Mat Mushroom und Lightrocker- für ausreichend Abwechslung ist also gesorgt! Bereits am übernächsten Tag geht es dann schon mittags ab 14 Uhr im Öjendorfer
Park weiter und das wohl gemerkt umsonst und draußen! Vielen von euch dürfte diese Location, die auch gut mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen ist, von Veranstaltungen wie dem Zwergenaufstand schon bekannt sein. Hier werden unter anderem Neelix, Galactica und Fabio auf gleich zwei Soundsystems für amtlichen Druck auf dem Dancefloor sorgen. Right in time for the summer kick-off in Hamburg the Beatfreakz deliver a spectacular double strike: For the traditional dance into May they invite you in proper style to the ballroom. But not just any ballroom but the brand new ballroom of Hamburg’s popular soccer club FC St. Pauli. And after just a short
breather the long weekend continues on 2nd May with an open air Summer Warm Up. The promoters already proved to be very skilled to find extraordinary venues several times, last time with Villa Schwarzenberg. The new ballroom of FC St. Pauli offers heaps of space to go crazy on the large dancefloor, a cosy gallery to chill on and an impressing view to the stadium from the open air lounge. News from the mushroom front mushroom legal again in the Netherlands?
Erfreuliche Nachrichten von der Pilzfront: Nach ihrer Illegalisierung zum Ende des letzten Jahres scheint es nun möglich, dass Magic Mushrooms in den Niederlanden bereits ab ungefähr Mitte April wieder frei verfügbar sind. Nachdem eine Reihe von Aktivisten sich in den vergangen Monaten intensiv gegen das Verbot eingesetzt haben, warten nun alle gespannt auf ein entsprechendes neues Urteil der Richter. Jasper von Mush-e-Mart, der sich in diesem Rechtsstreit besonders aktiv zeigt, schätzt die Chancen als gut ein. Vor Gericht konnten einige wichtige Argumente geltend gemacht werden, nach denen gewisse Unfälle in der Vergangenheit auf Mischkonsum zurückzuführen waren und Pilze viele positive Eigenschaften z.B. in der Psychotherapie haben. Und sollte es tatsächlich gelin-
gen, den Legalitätsstatus der Pilze wieder herzustellen, so wäre dieser Sieg historisch und könnte als Musterfall für weitere Verfahren nützlich werden. Im Falle eines Erfolges müssten allerdings die Konsumempfehlungen überarbeitet werden, so dass die empfohlene Dosis deutlich herabgesetzt würde, um den Gegnern entgegen zu kommen. Nach wie vor legal zu kaufen sind übrigens Growkits sowie die Philosopher Stones, aufgrund der aktuellen Lage wird sich daran wohl auch erst mal nichts ändern. Es ist allerdings mittelfristig nicht auszuschließen, dass auch Marihuana ins Fadenkreuz der niederländischen Drogenpolitik gerät.
