YOUTH ACTION COUNCIL The City of Lewisville is searching for local teens who are interested in improving their community by serving on the Youth Action Council. The Youth Action Council will advise City Council Members on youth-related issues, assist with special projects and events, assess existing youth and community programs and design new ones. PROPERTY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM The Property Enhancement Program (PEP) offers grant-rebates to residents to assist with exterior home repairs. Eligible applicants may be approved for a 50% reimbursement of approved project costs, up to a maximum dollar amount. COLONY SENIOR WINS WRESTLING STATE TITLE The Colony High School senior Elizabeth Grabiec claimed the University Interscholastic League (UIL) 5A Girls State Wrestling championship! Grabiec was able to defeat Jillian Wold of Comal Canyon who was previously unbeaten and wrapped up her season undefeated (27-0) becoming the Cougars first-ever undefeated state champion!! HEBRON JOURNALISM & YEARBOOK CREW ACCOMPLISH MILESTONES The Hebron High School journalism and yearbook crew were awarded for many of their accomplishments! Their newspaper (www.hebronhawkeye.com) was named a finalist for the National Scholastic Press Association’s Pacemaker, their broadcast (Hawk TV) won a “Star Award” from UIL’s Interscholastic Press Conference, senior Hailey Dirks won 1st palace in Feature Writing, and the 2020 yearbook received gold rating from Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
