El BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market, sección de industria del Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá – BOGOSHORTS, se ha constituido como el escenario ideal para fortalecer y potenciar a los diferentes actores del sector audiovisual interesados esencialmente en los formatos cortos, a través de estrategias de creación, formación, circulación y networking. Este año nos ha tomado por sorpresa, nos ha hecho dudar, nos ha cambiado la rutina y la forma en que hacíamos ciertas cosas. En medio de tanta incertidumbre, llegamos a esta versión del mercado después de dedicar muchas horas a pensar en el oficio que escogimos. Estamos acá para decirle al universo que seguimos nuestra pasión y que 6
The BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market, industry section of the Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS, has become an ideal platform to strengthen and empower players of the industry whose primary focus is the short format in the audiovisual market, through creation, training, circulation and networking strategies. This year, we’ve been taken by surprise; it has made us doubt, and change our routine and our ways of doing things. In the midst of so much uncertainty and after spending many hours thinking about our chosen trade, we arrived at this version of our market. We are here to tell the universe that we will continue to follow our passion and that we are willing to adapt in order to continue telling our stories. This is a version to look into each other’s eyes, to

En su cuarta versión, el BFM ha abierto sus fronteras y ha recibido inscripciones de toda América Latina y España para sus diferentes actividades. Hemos recibido más de 100 productores con proyectos en desarrollo y en distintas etapas de producción, y más de 80 festivales de cine nos acompañarán a través de redes y asociaciones como Iberofest, Anafe y la Short Film Conference. En medio de este revolcón, estamos consolidando alianzas, que esperamos nos lleven a nuevos caminos, con NALIP - The National Association of Latino Independent Producers, en Estados Unidos, y con la plataforma T-Port de Israel. Aunque aún tenemos muchos interrogantes sobre lo que será nuestro futuro, hoy podemos seguir adelante con este sueño que nos motiva cada día. Por esa razón, esta edición no está diseñada para ofrecer respuestas sino para abrir cuestionamientos. During these tumultuous times, we are starting alliances we hope will take us through new paths, with NALIP - The National Association of Latino Independent Producers - in the United States and T-Port from Israel. Para la inauguración de nuestro 4 o BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market, el cineasta israelí Guy Nattiv presentará el masterclass: “El arte que enfrenta y desafía el racismo”. Este evento de apertura es también la oportunidad para lanzar SHORTS X CHANGE, un nuevo componente de nuestra agencia de cortometrajes BOGOSHORTS Film Agency, una iniciativa que busca, con proyecciones temáticas y estrategias educativas e informativas, visibilizar problemáticas sociales globales. Creemos en el formato corto y su capacidad de generar cambios. En el masterclass se abordará el formato corto y su potencial de transformación social. For the opening of our 4 o BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market, the Israeli filmmaker Guy Nattiv will present the masterclass: “Art that confronts and challenges racism”. This opening event is also the opportunity to launch SHORTS X CHANGE, a new component of our short film distribution agency BOGOSHORTS Film Agency, an initiative that seeks, with thematic screenings and educational and informational strategies, to make global social issues visible. We believe in the short format and its ability to generate change. The masterclass will address the short format and its potential for social transformation. In such an uncertain world, filmmakers have a responsibility to generate conversation; to recognize cinema as an educational tool. Through innovative and deeply moving stories, social and political messages can be transmitted that generate a positive change in the viewer. Throughout his film career, Guy Nattiv has questioned the nature of hatred within traditional belief systems, and that it has been re-emerging, such as anti-Semitism and racism. In this way, he uses the short format as a means

Guy Nattiv Cineasta israelí ganador del Premio Óscar a Mejor Cortometraje de Acción Real en 2018, por su primer cortometraje estadounidense, ‘Skin’, que también fue presentado en más de 200 festivales alrededor del mundo y fue adquirido por FOX Searchlight. La versión largometraje de ‘Skin’, que lleva el mismo título, está protagonizada por Jamie Bell, Vera Farmiga y Danielle Macdonald, y se estrenó en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto en 2018, llevándose el Premio FIPRESCI de la Crítica. Tuvo su estreno europeo en la Berlinale y se presentó en el Festival de Cine de Tribeca. Fue distribuido globalmente por A24 y Voltage en julio de 2019. Incubadora BFM / BFM Incubator El espíritu de la Incubadora BFM es la colaboración. Este espacio nace como un encuentro de coproducción diseñado en torno a una jornada de encuentros uno a uno. Por un lado, participan productores audiovisuales que buscan financiación para hacer realidad sus proyectos de cortometraje. Estos proyectos pueden ser de ficción, documental o animación y pueden estar en diferentes etapas (desarrollo, preproducción, rodaje o postproducción). Del otro, participan empresas y profesionales del sector audiovisual que prestan diferentes servicios cinematográficos, con el objetivo de cerrar posibles alianzas o coproducciones. Este año, la Incubadora abrió su convocatoria por primera vez a participantes de Iberoamérica, ampliando la posibilidad de encontrar conexiones y posibles encuentros con otros lenguajes cinematográficos. Esto, posibilitando los procesos de internacionalización para la consolidación, financiamiento y posterior circulación de los proyectos presentados. Después de una sólida y fuerte convocatoria se recibieron más de 110 proyectos de países como Argentina, Ecuador, México, Perú, República Dominicana, Uruguay, Venezuela, entre otros. Los proyectos seleccionados de cortometraje se destacaron por su originalidad, pertinencia y solidez, y sus directores y productores ahora se están preparando para aprovechar al máximo los encuentros, en entornos físicos y digitales, que tendrán durante el BFM – BOGOSHORTS Film Market. Adicionalmente, el Movimiento y Festival BOGOSHORTS, en conjunto con el Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje – SENA, una de las entidades de educación técnica más importantes del continente, se unieron para ofrecer la convocatoria PIENSO LUEGO RUEDO a los estudiantes de la institución, y ofrecerle un espacio dentro de la Incubadora a sus participantes. BOGOSHORTS también consolidó su relación con EUREKA Festival Universitario de Cine al brindar un espacio en este programa a los realizadores ganadores de su quinta Competencia Nacional en 2020.
The spirit of the BFM Incubator is collaboration. This space was born as a co-production encounter designed around a day of one-to-one meetings. On the one hand, audiovisual producers who seek financing to make their short film projects come true. These projects can be fiction, documentary or animation and can be in different stages (development, pre-production, shooting or post-production). On the other, companies and professionals from the audiovisual sector that provide different film-related services, participate with the aim of closing possible alliances or co-productions. This year, the Incubator opened its call for the first time to participants from Ibero-America, expanding the possibility of finding connections and possible encounters with other cinematographic languages. This, enabling the internationalization processes for the consolidation, financing and subsequent circulation of the projects presented. After a solid and strong call, more than 110 projects were received from countries such as Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela, among others. The selected short film projects stood out for their originality, relevance and solidity, and their directors and producers are now preparing to make the most of the meetings, in physical and digital environments, that they will have during the BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market. Additionally, the BOGOSHORTS Movement and Festival, joined with the National Learning Service - SENA, one of the most important technical education entities on the continent, to offer the call I THINK THEREFORE I SHOOT to the students of the institution, for the chance to participate in the Incubator. BOGOSHORTS also consolidated its relationship with EUREKA University Film Festival by providing a space in this program to the filmmakers that won in its fifth National Competition in 2020.

BFM Canción sencilla / Single Song - (Colombia) Candelaria es una viuda de 60 años que vive encerrada en su casa y de espaldas a los acontecimientos de su pueblo. Anoche el ruido de la fiesta de la reconciliación no la dejó dormir y hoy derrama lo poquito que le quedaba de leche. En la calle, el pueblo reclama alborotado por el secuestro de los hijos de las mujeres desplazadas que viven en las afueras. Candelaria verá como los acontecimientos rompen su cotidianidad y al final del día se enfrentará a la decisión de abrir su casa a las mujeres perseguidas, encontrando la liberación del dolor que tanto necesita. Candelaria is a 60 year old widow who lives locked up in her house with her back to the events in her town. Last night the noise of the reconciliation party did not let her sleep and today she spills the little that was left of her milk. In the street, the people protested in an uproar over the kidnapping of the children of displaced women living in the outskirts. Candelaria will see how events break her daily life and at the end of the day she will face the decision to open her house to persecuted women, finding release from the pain she so badly needs.

Cangrejo / Crab - (Colombia) Una madre busca desesperadamente a su hija Nicol quien se encuentra desaparecida. A las afueras de Bogotá, en una atmósfera montañosa y nublada, Julián, un ciclista aficionado, encuentra un celular en una carretera solitaria, donde descubrirá lo que le pasó a Nicol y así poder ayudar a su madre a dejar de vivir en la incertidumbre. A mother desperately searches for her missing daughter Nicol. On the outskirts of Bogotá, in cloudy moountain atmosphere, Julián, an amateur cyclist, finds a cell phone on a lonely road, where he will discover what happened to Nicol and thus be able to help his mother to stop living in uncertainty.

Checoslovaquia / Czechoslovakia - (Perú) Diego es un mototaxista que descubre, por casualidad, a sus vecinas travestis jugando voleibol a orillas del río. Empujado por su afición a ese deporte, decide observarlas a escondidas. Esta actividad se vuelve una constante hasta que un día sorprende a Pedro, su ayudante en el taller, realizando la misma práctica. Diego se ve forzado a compartir su secreta afición con Pedro. Poco a poco y en la clandestinidad, Diego y Pedro se vuelven cómplices, permitiéndose explorar nuevas sensaciones hasta que un suceso inesperado les hace volver a su realidad. Diego is a motorcycle driver who discovered, by chance, his trans neighbors playing volleyball on the river. Driven by his love of this sport, he decides to observe them secretly. This activity becomes a constant until one day he surprises Pedro, his assistant, doing the same practice. Diego is forced to share his secret hobby with Pedro. Bit by bit and in hiding, Diego and Pedro become accomplices and explore new sensations until an unexpected event makes them return to their reality.

Su vida ha tomado un giro inesperado y ahora busca la manera con su padre de comunicarles a sus hermanos que su mamá no volverá, que está muerta. Iván is thirteen years old and is the oldest of three brothers. His brothers are Dúvan and Raúl. Ivan is filled with nostalgia. He is traumatized by stormy memories of the war where he lost his mother. He is the one who takes care of his two brothers while their father works. His life has taken an unexpected turn and now he is looking for a way with his father to communicate to his brothers that his mother will not return, that she is dead.

La muerte tiene una tarea para Fausto: cuidar el jardín donde reposan las almas de todas las personas en su pueblo. This is the story of Fausto, an 18 year old victim of violence, who is tutored by Death (a mamo from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta). The Death has a job for Fausto: to guard the garden where the souls of all the inhabitants of the town lay.

La teoría de la expansión / The Expansion Theory - (Colombia) Maxi (10) vive con su mamá (Lorena, 36) y se comunica constantemente con su papá (Pedro, 39) a través de la música, Pedro es compositor y ya no vive con ellos, pero el niño usa sus melodías como portal espacial para reunirse con él otra vez. A Lorena le disgusta esta situación. La tierra se está alejando del sol, haciendo que el planeta se desequilibre. Lorena, que es bombera, decide que se deben mudar a un lugar más seguro y le oculta la música a Maxi. The village choose to think the naiad is back. In the early 2000s, in a rural city in Argentina, three tweens spend their afternoons stealing tire accessories and smoking cigarettes. We discover that Jorge and Matías are in love. But the two hide this feeling with provocations and challenges. In one of these situations, they decide to join the swimming club that Jorge belonged to that night. Inside, they divide, and Matías drowns. However, what was supposed to be an accident becomes Matías’ opportunity to confess his love, and Jorge to accept it.

Dalila’ is the story of a 65-year-old woman who survided Armero’s catastrophe (1985), where she lost her husband and two of her daughters. For years, she hoped to find her girls, mainly because she found a photo in a newspaper where she saw the image of one of them. Despite the paucity of evidence, Dalila doesn’t stop her fight and quest. The wound of a mother who loses her daughters never heals and faith keeps her on track. The photograph raises unanswered questions and invites us to a journey through time that will trigger reflections in relation to memory, a mother’s pain, and resilience.

Covid-19 pandemic changed everything and so his dream. His agent disappered, the comfortable hotel room in which he arrived become a shared one in a creepy boarding house. Soccer opportunities are not becoming true. By chance, he shares his room with an ex soccer player who succeed with Uruguay’s national team, Peñarol and even América de Cali and other teams. In his everyday work, he finds an unusual watch that speaks and tells him that he must become a superhero to fight the monster Tocxslim. The child fights a battle against the climate monsters, defeating and eliminating them from the world. Carlitos loses his life in the battle, and people still continue to devastate nature, new monsters arrive and destroy the world, and we see Carlitos’ watch broken in a deserted world full of human skeletons.

After staring at a porcelain object in her house, and talking to her adoptive parents, she becomes interested in her true origins. Lumbila (8) lives in a coastal town where singing means death at the hands of an evil Glitch. The villagers don’t know what to do with the bodies of their loved ones and it’s Ilombo (90) who is in charge of giving peace to the dead, taking them to the island where she lives. Lumbila is attacked by a deadly insect and her mother sings a song to save her, leaving her life in it. Lumbila hopes that Ilombo will take her mother’s body, but it doesn’t happen.

One day, skirting the cliff, she finds a path of striking stones that guide her to an unknown side of the beach. There the sea gives her a magic stone that strongly connects them. Turned into her amulet, it will take the girl to the depths of the sea where she will find a being that will transform her.

Los Murmullos / Murmurs - (Colombia) En una ciudad distópica de los años 50 (retrofuturista) K47, un humanoide vive en una de las tantas maquilas electrónicas, junto a otros humanoides que trabajan sin descanso. Se han implantado lentes en los que ven imágenes que los atemorizan, imágenes que se crean a partir de los murmullos sistemáticos de los “vigilantes” que los adoctrinan. Hay una célula guerrillera, formada por humanoides desertores que utilizan artefactos sonoros como armas que ellos mismos construyen para intentar romper este sistema de murmullos y liberar a los demás. In a dystopian city of the 50s (retrofuturist) K47, a humanoid lives in one of the many electronic maquilas, along with other humanoids who work tirelessly. They have implanted lenses in which they see images that terrify them, images that are created from the systematic murmurs of the “vigilantes” who keep them indoctrinated. There is a guerrilla cell, made up of deserter humanoids that use sound artifacts as weapons that they build themselves to try to break this system of murmurs and free the others.

Ocaso / Sunset - (Colombia) Nora, una mujer de sesenta y tres años, crea dos muñecos (réplicas jóvenes de sí misma y su difunto esposo) para revivir sus recuerdos más preciados y combatir el olvido causado por la vejez. Así inicia este viaje al interior de la psique de Nora, donde la muñeca debe buscar a su esposo en medio de una ciudad oscura y desolada; allí habita un monstruo gigante que poco a poco devora el lugar. La mente de Nora es frágil, sus recuerdos se van deteriorando y su memoria, al igual que la muñeca, se verán enfrentadas a la voracidad del monstruo del olvido. Nora, a sixty-three-year-old woman, creates two puppets (young copies of herself and her dead husband) to live again her beloved memories and combat the forgetfulness caused by old age. Thus begins the journey to the interior of Nora’s psyche, where the doll must look for her husband in the middle of a dark and desolate city; where lives a giant monster that little by little eats the place. Nora’s mind is fragile, her memories are fading and her memory, and the doll, will be faced with the voracity of the monster of oblivion.

It faces difficult times after the giants, who used to protect them from water and rain, fled. Voces BFM / BFM Voices Desde el BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market, reconocemos a los festivales nacionales e internacionales que cuentan con sección de cortometrajes, incluidos los festivales universitarios, como escenarios fundamentales para impulsar a los realizadores emergentes de nuestro país. Una de nuestras principales búsquedas es analizar el estado actual de la gestión que se realiza desde los eventos cinematográficos, y la manera en que BOGOSHORTS como plataforma de promoción y exhibición, será catapulta para la visibilización de nuevos talentos, así como también para compartir e intercambiar conocimientos e información sobre programación, innovación y desarrollos nacionales e internacionales en el sector audiovisual. La primera versión de Voces BFM en 2018 reunió cerca de 20 festivales de cine universitario, la segunda versión en 2019 tuvo la participación de cerca de 50 festivales de cine universitario y festivales nacionales reunidos alrededor de distintas actividades para reflexionar sobre el funcionamiento y poner en perspectiva metas claras a corto plazo. Para este año generamos espacios que implican la conexión de muchos más actores del proceso y es por eso que a nuestra programación se sumarán otros universos, como la participación de la Short Film Conference, Asociación Internacional de Festivales de Cortometraje impulsada por el Festival de Cortometrajes de Clermont-Ferrand; Red Iberofest, asociación que reúne más de 180 festivales de cine en Iberoamérica, además de la Asociación Nacional de Festivales, Muestras y Eventos Cinematográficos y Audiovisuales de Colombia - ANAFE y Ruido Universitario, con los cuales buscamos unir a la comunidad nacional que busca visibilizar el cortometraje desde una de las ventanas más valiosas para el cine como lo son los eventos, festivales, y muestras cinematográficas. At the BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market, we recognize national and international festivals that have a short film section, including university festivals, as fundamental scenarios to promote emerging filmmakers in our country. One of our main objectives is to analyze how the current state of the management carried out by film events, and the way in which BOGOSHORTS as a promotion and exhibition platform, will be a catapult for the visibility of new talents, as well as to share and exchange knowledge and information on programming, innovation and national and international developments in the audiovisual sector. The first version of BFM Voices in 2018 brought together about 20 university film festivals, the second version in 2019 had the participation of about 50 university film festivals and national festivals gathered around different activities to reflect on the operation of the events and put into perspective clear short-term goals. En alianza con la Short Film Conference – SFC, traemos un panel donde buscaremos expandir la información acerca de la situación actual de los “Falsos Festivales y Pseudo Festivales”, investigación que ha sido liderada en años recientes por la SFC y sus asociados. Esta es una problemática que viene creciendo y que involucra directamente a los realizadores, festivales, distribuidoras y plataformas, quienes encantados por la idea de premios y palmarés para sumar a sus piezas promocionales, caen incautos frente a organizaciones inescrupulosas que juegan con sus deseos de reconocimiento. La Short Film Conference - SFC es una organización mundial que nació en 1970 y que tiene como misión promover la distribución y exhibición de cortometrajes, dando enfoque y mejorando la posición de las producciones de cortometraje en festivales internacionales de cine, aumentando el intercambio de ideas e información entre los organizadores del festival y los grupos nacionales de simpatizantes del cortometraje, así como difundiendo información mundial sobre nuevas películas cortas y su producción en diferentes países. In alliance with the Short Film Conference - SFC, we bring a panel where we will seek to expand information about the current situation of “Fake and Pseudo Festivals”, research that has been led in recent years by the SFC and its associates. This is a growing problem that directly involves filmmakers, festivals, distributors and platforms who fall unsuspecting in front of unscrupulous organizations that play with their desire for recognition. The Short Film Conference is a world-wide organization which came into being in 1970, with the task of promoting the distribution and screening of short films, calling attention to and improving the position of short films at international film festivals, providing support for festivals with a positive attitude towards short films. It aims to increase the exchange of ideas and information between festival organizers and national short film supporter groups, as well as spreading world-wide information on new short films and their production in different countries. In a nutshell, the Short Film Conference works to promote the status of the short film by all means at its disposal. The director of BOGOSHORTS is currently part of the Board of Directors of this association.

During this edition, we seek to generate new connections and potential collaborations through the exchange of experiences via different networking activities. Red Iberofest is a network of Ibero-American film festivals in which members work collaboratively to disseminate and promote each other’s activities to seek the common good in all audiovisual and film divisions. Its objective is to collaborate jointly so that audiovisual and film festivals are considered a fundamental and necessary part of the development of culture and art in the cultural policies of each country.

Dándole continuidad al trabajo que hemos venido realizando en las dos primeras ediciones de Voces BFM, es de suma importancia para nosotros que desde este año la ANAFE se integre al diálogo y co-organización de este espacio, pues es un aliado y líder natural en el proceso de congregación de festivales de Colombia. ANAFE ha llevado durante años un proceso de trabajo en busca de la solidificación y crecimiento de los eventos cinematográficos nacionales. Por ello, al sumar su experiencia y la fuerza de sus asociados, esperamos seguir contribuyendo a la idea de unir a la comunidad nacional de eventos que busca visibilizar el cortometraje. Además de reuniones y una agenda de actividades, esta tercera edición de Voces BFM espera seguir desarrollando para el espectro nacional, el análisis de la necesidad imperante de contar con un Manual de Buenas Prácticas que funcione como compendio de sugerencias para profesionalizar e impulsar el crecimiento de los eventos cinematográficos del país. La Asociación Nacional de Festivales, Muestras y Eventos Cinematográficos y Audiovisuales de Colombia ANAFE, es una organización de carácter gremial que surge formalmente en 2011 en el marco del Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias - FICCI como un espacio de encuentro, acuerdo y trabajo en torno al fortalecimiento de los festivales como espacios de circulación, encuentro del sector y formación de públicos. También de acceso a la cultura y disfrute del arte como derecho de los pueblos, y de fomento de iniciativas de organización social y de movilización de ideas y pensamientos diversos. A través del relacionamiento con la institucionalidad, organizaciones del sector cultural y con entidades y empresas del sector privado buscan fomentar políticas públicas, programas y presupuestos que permitan y fortalezcan su realización. Continuing the work that we did in the first two editions of BFM Voices, it is of utmost importance for us as an ally and natural leader in the Colombian festival process that ANAFE is integrated into the dialogue and co-organization of this space from this year forward. This organization has carried out, for many years, a search for the solidification and growth of national film events. Therefore, by adding its experience and the strength of its associates to this space, we hope to continue contributing to the idea of uniting the national community of events that seek to make short films visible. In addition to meetings and an agenda of activities, this third edition of BFM Voices hopes to continue developing the analysis of the prevailing need for a Best Practices Manual on the national spectrum; this would function as a compendium of suggestions to professionalize and promote the growth of film events in the country. The National Association of Cinematographic and Audiovisual Festivals, Showcases and Events of Colombia - ANAFE, is a trade union organization that formally emerged in 2011 within the framework of the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival - FICCI. It is a place for agreement, dialogue and work around strengthening festivals as spaces for audience engagement, circulation and encounters within the sector. Additionally, it is a space that promotes access to culture and the enjoyment of art as a right, and advocates for social organization initiatives and the mobilization of diverse ideas and thoughts. Through relationships with institutions, cultural sector organizations, private sector entities and other companies, ANAFE seeks to promote public policies, programs and budgets that allow and strengthen their implementation

El ruido tiene la capacidad de perturbar el espacio en el que irrumpe y una de sus características para que se dé su propagación no sólo es el espacio sino el tiempo. Luego de un año en el que se han fortalecido en su capacidad sonora, en espacio y tiempo, los festivales universitarios llegan mucho más unidos, buscando apropiarse del espacio que se han ganado e identificando su esencia. De nuevo queremos que Voces BFM sea el espacio donde se reúnan y converjan diferentes tipos de propuestas para movilizar y dar más visibilidad a los eventos audiovisuales universitarios, y así lograr que Voces BFM les sirva como camino de relación con el resto del mercado y oportunidad para conectarse con los diferentes festivales de Colombia y el mundo. Las primeras bases para el nacimiento de Ruido Universitario se sentaron en el 2018 en la edición inaugural de Voces BFM. A partir de allí los Festivales Universitarios comenzaron un proceso de conexión que fue permitiéndoles crear un ejercicio inicial, en el cual se unieron para servir de plataforma de difusión, comunicación y apoyo entre ellos. Fueron identificando que la mayoría de eventos universitarios de cine se realizan en el segundo semestre del año, lo que en 2020 los llevó a movilizarse en la organización de la primera ‘’temporada de cine universitario’’ con el fin de fomentar la participación y reunir esfuerzos para visibilizarse. De esta forma la audiencia de cada festival no sólo encuentra una oferta por cada evento, sino que se entera de la temporada de cine universitario y se acerca a todo un conjunto de oportunidades. Once again, we want BFM Voices to be the place where different types of proposals converge and unite, mobilizing the visibility of university audiovisual events, helping them to connect with the market and different festivals in Colombia and the world. In the inaugural edition of BFM Voices in 2018, were laid the first foundations for the birth of University Reverb. Then, University Festivals began making connections that allowed them to create a starting point in which they decided to serve as a platform for dissemination, communication and support amongst themselves. Recognizing that a larger number of university film events are held in the second semester of the year, led them to organize the first “university film season” in 2020 in order to encourage participation and increase visibility. In this way, the audience of each festival not only finds the offer of each event, but can also approach a whole new set of opportunities throughout the university film season.

ESTUCINE - Encuentro Nacional de Estudiantes de Cine / National Meeting of Film Students El Encuentro Nacional de Estudiantes de Cine - ESTUCINE, reúne alrededor de 200 estudiantes, profesores y directivas de escuelas de cine de todo el país, en torno a la reflexión y acercamiento al medio cinematográfico. ESTUCINE, se convierte así, en un proceso necesario y urgente para articular la formación con la industria nacional. En su tercera edición, y en medio de uno de los eventos más importantes para la historia reciente, ESTUCINE reflexiona sobre la vida de las películas en sus etapas de promoción, distribución y exhibición.
The National Meeting of Film Students, known by its acronym ESTUCINE, brings together about 200 students, teachers and directors from film schools around the country to discuss and reflect on approaches to filmmaking. ESTUCINE is a necessary and urgent encounter to connect film education with the national industry. In its third edition, and during the development of one of the most important events in modern history, ESTUCINE reflects about the life of films, focusing on promotion, distribution and exhibition.

Videolibrería BFM y proyecciones de industria / BFM Videolibrary and industry screenings La Videolibrería BFM es una herramienta de visualización personalizada de contenidos audiovisuales en formato corto, producidos en países Iberoamericanos e inscritos en la convocatoria 2020 del Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS, a la cual tendrán acceso exclusivo los acreditados de industria del BFM, en estaciones individuales de visualización ubicadas en la sede oficial del mercado, CityU. Programadores, distribuidores, compradores y otros actores de la industria asistentes al festival podrán ver cortometrajes de ficción, documental, animación y experimental, con una duración máxima de 30 minutos, con el objetivo de que estos encuentren diversas ventanas comerciales de exhibición. Considerando los retos excepcionales del 2020, este año también podrán tener acceso a los contenidos, profesionales de la industria que se encuentren fuera de la ciudad o el país. La Videolibrería BFM cuenta con el respaldo de la plataforma ShortFilmDepot. Las oportunidades para descubrir nuevas producciones en formato corto y fomentar la circulación de obras de jóvenes realizadores, se complementan con la proyección de dos programas de cortometrajes relacionados con diferentes componentes del BFM.
The BFM Videolibrary is a tool for the personalized visualization of audiovisual content in short format, produced in Ibero-American countries and submitted to the 2020 call for entries of the Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS, to which industry accredited individuals will have exclusive access at individual viewing stations located at the market’s official headquarters, CityU. Programmers, distributors, buyers and other industry players attending the festival will be able to see fiction, documentary, animation and experimental short films, with a maximum lenght of 30 minutes, with the aim that they find various commercial exhibition windows. Considering the exceptional challenges of 2020, this year industry professionals from out of the city or the country will also have access to the videolibrary. The BFM Videolibrary is supported by the ShortFilmDepot platform. The opportunities to discover new short-format productions and encourage the circulation of works by young filmmakers are complemented by the screening of two short film programs related to different components of the BFM

Luis Fernando Ospina es un artesano residente en la ciudad de Medellín. Su trabajo se basa principalmente en el diseño y creación de zapatos en cuero. En su Taller Raíces se refleja su estado de soledad, su ausencia familiar, el desconocimiento de su labor artesanal y la pesadez de la ciudad. Luis Fernando Ospina is a craftsman resident in the city of Medellín, Colombia. His work is mainly based on the design and creation of leather shoes. His Raíces Workshop is a reflection of his state of loneliness, his family’s absence, the indifference towards his artisan work and the heaviness of the city.
Documental que a través de metáforas visuales narra desde un punto de vista joven la historia de cuatro personajes, entre los 18 y 29 años, que intentaron suicidarse. El relato artístico pretende visibilizar este tema mostrándolo como algo que ha pasado, pasa y probablemente no deja de pasar; una problemática que no se debe evitar por miedo a la imitación. Con esto, el documental intenta que el espectador se cuestione sobre qué contribuye o no a este tema. Suicide has been seen throughout modern history as a taboo and society’s fear of imitation is becoming more and more noticeable. In this profound documentary story, four young survivors between the ages of 18 and 29 narrate their experiences, feelings and emotions through visual resources that allow the spectator to interpret the stories. ‘Fireflies’ tells in depth the youth point of view and finally makes the viewers question themselves about what they do or do not contribute to this problem.

En las playas de Cartagena, mientras trabaja bajo el sol y junto a la brisa del mar, Samir se enamora de Valentina, la niña más bonita del barrio. Pero como ella es mayor y está saliendo con John, él no se atreve a hablarle. Aunque intenta seguir los pasos de John para conquistarla, su timidez y mala suerte no se lo harán tan fácil. On the beaches of Cartagena, while working under the sun and with the sea breeze, Samir falls in love with Valentina, the prettiest girl in the neighborhood. But since she is older and is dating John, he doesn’t dare to speak to her. When Samir tries to follow John’s steps, his bad luck won’t make it easy for him.
Arturo es un guionista fracasado que asiste a talleres de escritura creativas esperando encontrar nuevas ideas. Luego de un tiempo, se interesa por la historia de una de las asistentes del taller y consigue robarle el guión de su película. Sin embargo, al leer el guión empieza a darse cuenta de que tal vez su destino ya no le pertenece. Arturo is a failed screenwriter who attends writing workshops hoping to find new ideas. After a while, he becomes interested in the story of one of the workshop attendees and manages to steal the script. However, as he reads the script, he begins to realize that perhaps his destiny no longer belongs to him.

Luego de una mala relación, Alma, una joven soñadora pierde su corazón. Vacía, recorre las calles de Bogotá hasta que se encuentra con Culebrero, un vendedor ambulante que le vende un corazón humano. Alma decide darse una nueva oportunidad para amar, pero fracasa y después de muchas heridas pierde el corazón otra vez. De nuevo vacía y solitaria conoce a Tomás, el joven propietario de una librería, quien le enseñará que para amar no se necesita el corazón sino el alma. After a bad relationship, Alma, a young dreamer, loses her heart. Empty, she walks the streets of Bogotá until she meets Culebrero, a street vendor who sells her a human heart. Alma decides to give herself a new opportunity to love, but fails and after many injuries she loses her heart again. Once again empty and lonely, she meets Tomás, the young owner of a bookstore, who will teach her that to love you don’t need the heart but the soul.

He’s not fond of her, since he has seen her taking advantage from a street vendor. In that moment a playful little girl starts to complicate his work routine, making the situation even more difficult. Will he help the weak old lady?
La memoria de Julio, un vendedor de tintos ciego, recorre paso a paso su relación con Daniel, un niño de 9 años al que Julio rescató de la calle y considera su propio hijo. Luego de un desafortunado encuentro con una agente del Estado, Julio deberá luchar por proteger a Daniel y mantener su relación intacta. Julio, a blind coffee vendor, recounts his relationship with Daniel, a 9-year-old boy whom he rescued from a life in the streets and raised as his own. After an unfortunate encounter with a social services worker, Julio will have to fight to protect Daniel and keep their relationship strong.

Jeferson Cardoza Ricardo Zanabria es un un joven de 27 años de edad que trabaja en un taller de carros. Empezó a consumir bazuco y por esta razón frecuenta El Bronx, el barrio más peligroso de Bogotá. Un día, en este lugar, escucha gritos que provienen de una casa; decide entrar, ignorando que no podrá escapar de este ‘infierno’, el 28 de mayo, el día del allanamiento del Bronx. Ricardo Zanabria is a 27 year old young man who works in a car workshop. He began to consume bazuco and for this reason he frequents El Bronx, the most dangerous neighborhood in Bogotá. One day, in this place, he hears screams coming from a house; he decides to enter, ignoring that he will not be able to escape from this ‘hell’, on May 28th, the day of the Bronx raid.
Álvaro Rodríguez es un viejo estafador de suerte desastrosa que le debe mucho dinero a su patrón Don Pocho, un peligroso prestamista. Un día, Álvaro le propone que financie uno de sus negocios, para poder pagar sus deudas y de paso reivindicarse económicamente. Todo consiste en utilizar una gran base de datos con la información personal de personas muertas para estafar a una empresa de telefonía móvil. Don Pocho accede, aunque indeciso, y el plan se pone en marcha de inmediato. Álvaro Rodríguez is an old scammer of disastrous luck who owes a lot of money to his boss Don Pocho, a dangerous moneylender. One day, Álvaro proposes him to finance one of his businesses, to be able to pay his debts and, incidentally, recover himself financially. It’s all about using a large database with the personal information of dead people to scam a mobile phone company. Don Pocho agrees, although hesitant, and the plan is put into motion immediately.
Una tortuga vive tranquilamente en el fondo del mar, hasta que un aparatoso accidente la obliga a luchar por sobrevivir y sufrir los cambios físicos y ambientales que la inconsciencia humana le han producido. A turtle lives peacefully at the bottom of the sea, until a spectacular accident forces it to fight to survive and undergo the physical and environmental changes that human unconsciousness has produced.

Con el objetivo de apoyar y visibilizar emprendimientos de profesionales del sector cinematográfico colombiano que hacen más que cine, el equipo del BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market ha diseñado el Bazar BFM, considerando importante aportar solidariamente a un sector que se ha visto fuertemente golpeado por los retos de la pandemia.
Una de nuestras certezas en estos tiempos inciertos es el inicio de una nueva alianza con T/Port de Israel. A partir de este año, nuestros dos programas de industria, In Vitro BFM y Caigan y nos vemos de ESTUCINE, tendrán un espacio dentro de esta plataforma, para promover el trabajo de nuevos realizadores colombianos de cortometraje, entre sus miembros registrados.
El evento tendrá lugar durante el festival, del 8 al 15 de diciembre, con un catálogo en línea de una gran variedad de productos, al que los asistentes podrán acceder desde cualquier lugar. El viernes 11 de diciembre tendremos un espacio físico en el que de forma simbólica participarán algunas de las empresas, para que los asistentes puedan conocer de primera mano los productos.

In order to support and make visible the undertakings of professionals in the Colombian film sector that do more than films, the BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market team has designed the BFM Bazaar, considering it important to contribute in solidarity to a sector that has been strongly hit by the challenges of the pandemic. The event will take place during the festival, from December 8 to 15, with an online catalog of a wide variety of products, which attendees can access from anywhere. T/Port fue fundada por el Festival Internacional de Cine Estudiantil de Tel Aviv, en colaboración con Gesher Multicultural Film Fund (el principal fondo para cortometrajes de Israel), y el Consejo de Cultura y Arte de Mifal HaPais. One of our certainties in these uncertain times is the beginning of a new alliance with T/Port from Israel. Starting this year, our two industry programs, In Vitro BFM and ‘Caigan y nos vemos’ from ESTUCINE, will have a space within this platform, to promote the work of new Colombian short filmmakers, among its registered members. T/Port is an online platform dedicated to the promotion of emerging talents and the distribution of short films made by students and independent filmmakers. By bridging the gap between young filmmakers and industry professionals around the world, the platform aims to create new screening opportunities and maximize the circulation of short films. The platform is rapidly growing, hosting more than 550 short films, including those selected in the main festivals of the international circuit and short films that have won at the Academy Awards. T/Port was founded by the Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival, in collaboration with the Gesher Multicultural Film Fund (Israel’s leading short film fund), and the Mifal HaPais Council for the Culture and Arts.
