The Shire joins with this theme to celebrate the rich knowledge, experience and diversity that older people bring to our region. We create opportunities through our Seniors Festival to connect people to each other, to places and to the wide array of organisations, activities and clubs.
Mornington Peninsula Shire acknowledges the Bunurong people, who have been the custodians of this land for many thousands of years; and pays respect to their Elders past and present.
We acknowledge that the beautiful land on which we meet is the place of age-old ceremonies, celebrations, initiation and renewal; and that the Bunurong people’s living culture continues to have a unique role in the life of this region.
It gives me great pleasure to present our 2025 Seniors Festival.
Throughout October, the Shire offers opportunities to connect with others, discover new interests, revisit past interests and celebrate ageing well on the Peninsula.
Through the efforts of local organisations and their volunteers, seniors are invited to a wide array of social, educational and fun activities across the Shire.
Key events include the Y’s Get Active Expo at Camp Manyung, the launch of the Hastings and Mount Martha Seniors Exercise Parks, a tour to the Victorian Pride Centre and the Australian Fleetwood Mac Show at the George Jenkins Theatre.
Thanks to all who have contributed to this year’s festival and I encourage you to be part of the fun.
Mayor Anthony Marsh Mornington Peninsula Shire
