NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING The Woodbridge School District Board of Education as a part of its regular November public meeting will consider a waiver to the provisions of 14 Delaware Code § 1704(3) and § 1705(A)(a). Subsection 1704(3) of the law requires all public school buildings to have allocated to them 98% of the Division 1 units generated by the actual unit count in that building by the last school day of October of the current school year. Subsection 1705(A)(a) requires any kindergarten or grades 1-3 public school classes to have no higher ratio of teacher to students than 1:22 by the last school day in October of the current school year. This ratio is only to apply to a class where students are instructed in core academic subjects of English/Language Arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. The meeting will be held in the library of the Phillis Wheatley Middle School. NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING The Laurel School District Board of Education will consider the request for a waiver to the requirements per 14 Delaware Code §1705 (A) (a) requiring the ratio of students to instructors in any class in kindergarten or grades 1-3 in a Delaware public school shall not exceed 22 students as of the last school day of October. This student-to-instructor ratio shall only apply to a class within which students are instructed in the core academic subjects of English/Language Arts, mathematics, science and social studies. A local school board may waive subsection (a) of this section after voting to waive such subsection at a public meeting noticed for that purpose. Any local school board vote on such a waiver shall occur on or before December 1 of each year.
