Nemours speaks about 5-2-1

Jeanne Dukes of Nemours discussed the 5-2-1 Almost None program at the June lunch meeting of the Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. Jeanne recruited David Tidwell of Lack Lingo Realtor to participate in one of her demonstrations explaining that young men between the ages of 12-19 consume an average of 867 cans of soda each year. The Nemours 5-2-1 Almost None program reminds children to eat five fruits and vegetables a day, spend no more than two hours watching television, commit to one hour of physical activity each day and to limit sugary drinks to almost none.

Benefits for home businesses

Are you a new home-based business in the area? Would you like to get the same exposure that businesses with storefronts do? The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce offers several benefits that are exclusively for homebased business members.

RIBBON CUTTING - Owners Byron & Anne Braniff and Tom Schulz recently celebrated the grand re-opening of the Mill Outlet located on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach at the Lighthouse Plaza Shopping Center. The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce sponsored a ribbon cutting ceremony. From left is Tom Schulz, owner; and Anne and Byron Braniff, owners. The Mill Outlet, which first opened in Downtown Rehoboth in 1979 and moved to Route 1 in 1995, offers home textiles, giftware and lamps. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 302-227-8340 or visit www.milloutlet. com.

New home-based businesses can host a “virtual ribbon cutting” ceremony for no charge at the Chamber office. Hang a banner in the Chamber's conference room with your business name on it and we will take the photo and send out a press release to all the local papers. Don’t have a conference room to meet with clients/customers? Call the Chamber and put your meeting on our

calendar. Any member of the BFACC is able to use our conference room for free. For more information, contact Carrie Subity at 302-539-2100 x12.
