The Jester Brothers are back with more fun and laughter in the latest Panto Club production!

Everyone wants rid of Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham out of the castle. But King Richard is away on a crusade (or is it a cruise??), so it is left to Robin Hood to try and cobble together a band of brave souls who will help him to get them out.

With the help of a Soothsayer and an old Crone, things take an unexpected turn for everyone – but especially for the Sheriff and Prince John!

It’s November in a presidential election year, and incumbent Charles Smith’s chances for re-election are looking grim.

Approval ratings are down, his money’s running out and nuclear war might be imminent. Though his staff has thrown in the towel and his wife has begun to prepare for her post -White House life, Chuck isn’t ready to give up just yet. In the biggest fight of his political career, the President has to find time to pardon a couple of turkeys - saving them from the slaughter before Thanksgiving and this simple PR event inspires Smith to risk it all in attempt to win back public support.

With Mamet’s characteristic no-holds style, November is a scathingly hilarious take on the state of America today and the lengths to which people will go to win. November will represent the Moat Club on the All Ireland Drama Circuit this year.

Pushed to boiling point, 3 female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, these three powerhouses live out their wildest fantasy - giving their boss, Mr. Hart, the boot! While Hart remains “otherwise engaged”, the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Will the ladies manage to reform their office - or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit? Inspired by the 1980’s smash hit movie, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton herself. Set in the late 1970’s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge is outrageous, and even a little bit romantic. This show is about teaming up, standing up and taking care of business! Naas Musical Society are very proud to bring this toe-tapping, hilarious show to the Moat Theatre. CLASS ACT The Moat Theatre is delighted to announce that we are to host the 2nd Annual CLASS ACT drama competition for post primary schools. It’s simple really, a One Act Play (20 minutes max) without elaborate sets. Instead, each competing school make use of stage boxes/rehearsal cubes. This ensures that costs are kept to a minimum while also providing a level playing field for all groups with emphasis on being on creativity and dramatic performances. The competition will take place over two days and will be adjudicated by Ms. Evelyn O’Sullivan, one of the leading amateur drama adjudicators in the country.

Declan Nerney Live in Concert

with guests John McNicholl & John Hogan Declan was born in the heart of Ireland in Drumlish, Co Longford, at a unique period of time in the music scene worldwide.

A revolution in rock and pop brought us The Beatles, Elvis, and the Rolling Stones, while here in Ireland the magnificent showband boom was about to explode. A young man growing up at that time, Declan was being heavily influenced by these greats and indeed was getting the rare opportunity to see most of the top showbands appear in his native town of Drumlish.

He would cajole his mother into seeing Joe Dolan, Big Tom, Philomena Begley, The Capital Showband and many more perform when they appeared at the marquee at the end of May and early June. From his vantage point close to the stage, he would absorb every move made by the guitarist in the bands, watching his fingers slide along the strings, hoping that one day he might be up there performing just like Dan O’Hara or Seamus McMahon. Declan went on to have a super career that has spanned over 4 decades at the top of Irish Country Music winning many accolades along the way and scoring countless hits with his catalogue of trademark song. Join him and his super live band with special guests John McNicholl and John Hogan for a nostalgic night of music, song and laughter on the 2024 Where’s the Party nationwide concert tour.

Ireland’s Queens of Comedy are back with their brand -new show Girls World Tour. After their last sell out tour, which received standing ovations across Ireland and the UK, DirtBirds are bringing their highly relatable and spot on observational comedy back to the stage.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN An Evening with Tom Dunne, Fiachra O’Braonain & Alan Connor Songs & Stories On The Road Again promises to be a fun evening of songs and stories as Fiachna Ó Braonáin, Tom Dunne & Alan Connor hit the road together for the very first time!

Despite having shared stages across the world over several decades, Tom Dunne of Something Happens and Fiachna Ó Braonáin of Hothouse Flowers had never actually performed together until they were invited to do so on RTE Radio 1’s Ray Darcy show where they performed a Christy Moore song, John O Dreams and a Willie Nelson song, On The Road Again. Ray D’Arcy loved it, Fiachna Ó Braonáin and Tom Dunne had a ball... and were joking they should do more of it! Or perhaps… only half-joking!

Since then several coffees were had and they decided to make it happen! Their respective bands were from different musical worlds but Tom Dunne and Fiachna Ó Braonáin were always united by a love of performance and songwriting and were very taken with what those different schools of thought could bring to their coffee table. Since then they have been working on what songs they could perform together including some new songs neither have performed publicly before.

Multi Instrumentalist Alan Connor was then drafted in to add some Piano, Guitar and Percussion to the dynamic duo! Alan Connor has toured with Sharon Shannon for over ten years and regularly performs with Something Happens and Frances Black. He is also a member of RTE’s “The Late Late Show” House Band since 2021.

5/5/5 Five short plays over five nights, showcasing the work of five emerging directors.

Five aspiring directors from the ranks of the Moat Club membership have been participating in a mentoring programme delivered by Lianne O’Shea and supported

by Kildare Arts Service. The culmination of the nine-month Directors Mentoring Programme will be the staging of a short play by each participant. These five plays will be spread across five nights, three per night. Think of it as a one-act drama festival without the adjudicator!

The Director’s Mentoring Programme was made possible by the kind support of Kildare Arts Service.

Bruised Orange – John Prine Tribute Band Bruised Orange is Ireland’s premier John Prine Tribute Band. Boasting some of Ireland most experienced musicians the 5 piece band is made up of Michael ‘Mike Mack’ McGarry (Rhythm Guitar & Vocals), Anthony Toby Cregan (Lead Guitar, Vocals), Derek Matthews (Bass & Vocals) Steve Milne (Keyboards) and Shay Carry (Percussion). Each member brings a unique set of talents and abilities to the group which provides for a unique live John Prine experience. The show is fronted by Mike Mack McGarry who accurately reflects John’s vocal range with similar ease of delivery, an affected twang and drawl; which thrive of a peculiar, domestic relation to country, folk, rhythm and blues. His storytelling and short antidotes are also a testament to a Bruised Orange live show, Lead guitarist Anthony Toby Cregan is one of Ireland’s most revered guitarists, His style and playing reflects that of Jason Wilbur, Prine’s go to guy from the early 1990’s up until Johns death. Bassist Derek Matthews is known from one of Ireland’s top wedding bands ‘Stop the Clock’. His double bass and look again reflects that of Prine’s bass man Dave Jacques. On keyboards is Steve Milne who has spent decades on tour with Daniel O’Donnell and Mary Duff, Steve is one of Ireland’s most talented musicians. Drummer Shay Carry is the backbone of the band with his unique style. Shay has toured with some of Ireland’s top country artists.
