SalopiansflocktotheQuarry,in Shrewsbury,for summer festivals andconcertsandforwalksbythe riverallyearround.
Butareportsayswomen have been targeted at thepark. Allegationsofoffenceshavingtakenplace in theparkrange from trafficking andgroomingtodrugtaking.
Thereportcomes afterpolice confirmedaninvestigationwasun derwayaftera19-year-oldwoman reportedshehadbeenrapedinacar in Bank Farm Road,Radbrook, on October30.
In thesummer,Shrewsbury TownCouncilrampedupsecurityin theQuarry,doublingthehoursthat guardsareondutyfrom30hoursa weekto60hoursaweekinAugust, withataximarshalalsoemployed tomanagethenighttimeeconomy.
