30 arrests made in vehiclecrackdown
Morethan30arrestshavebeenmadebypolice duringaclampdownonvehiclecrimeinStaffordshire.

SincethelaunchofStaffordshirePolice’snewpo licingmodelinJune,theforcehasbeenworkingto prioritisecommunityconcernsandintroducedaded icatedoperationcalledOpBormus. Julia was the beloved Daughter of Lucy and George Dawson of WedgesMills, Cannock.
She was the youngest of nine Children, five girls and three boys. Her Father George served in the First World War and her Mother Lucy worked as cook for the Cannock Fire Brigade following the death of her Husband.
Julia went to school in Bridgetown and enjoyed a close relationship with her Mother Lucy and older Sister Gladys (Kate) during her early lifewhilst her older siblings joined the war effort.
She leftschool at fifteen to work at the ‘Swallow’ (raincoats) factoryasa machinist. She mademany Friends there and had afun loving young life in post war Britain, dancing and hiking. She climbedthe highest mountain in Norway with the Cannock climbing club.

She then married and had two Children residing in Cheslyn Hay for the restof her life. As well as looking after her growingFamily she continuedtowork as amachinist at Wescott’s factoryinCannock and then as acleaner at the village school.

In her leisure and retirement, she was akeen flower arrangerand lawn bowls player.She played bowls for Bridgetown SocialClub for many years. She also enjoyed travelling and caravanning in Ceredigion, Wales and walking with her dog Freddy

She was afan of the arts, theatre,music and visual artsand spent many lovely times with her Family at the Cheltenham music festival. She was agreat Friend to many people and the beloved Mother of Lisa.
She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her Rest in peace Julia.
